I never really had one. The closest I can think of having a favorite goalie was Eddie Belfour, but even then, I wouldn't say he was one of my all-time favorite players.
-
Kopecky is the reason we're 7-1-1. Without him, we wouldn't have won any of those games. Remember, his pussiness aside, he brought Hossa here.

Gilles Gratton had the greatest mask ever. The guy was a complete nut.

That record is a hell of a lot better than what it's been in the past. No one was saying they'd all of a sudden contend for the best record in the West. Bottom line is that they're better than before and will only improve. Don't forget that they're still getting adjusted to a new coach. They gave the Wings a hell of a run for their money in their first meeting.

The NHL Should Change the Way it Shows its Games
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I would actually watch the entire game like that, just for something new. Many people say they were disjointed throughout the game, but come on, it's not like the camera was pointing at the stands during the action. It could of course use some improvements, but I really think this could work which is why I posted it in the first place. Many non-hockey fans always complain about how watching the game on TV is totally different than watching it in person, more so than in other sports. Hopefully the league can find a way to change that. I think all in all everyone is just so used to one static camera, that they're opposed to anything that attempts to change that in an innovative way. -
You need some semblance of physical hockey on your team. Balance is the key here. Those guys provide a change of pace on the 4th line that other guys can't give. What's the point of dressing skill players on the 4th line, if they're only getting nominal minutes?

The NHL Should Change the Way it Shows its Games
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Wow, I guess you guys have a different opinion than I do. I just get tired of seeing the same old static camera, and I thought this was kind of cool and innovative. The play is hard to follow sometimes, but I'm not someone who just watches the puck the whole game like some inexperinced fan. It's good sometimes to see the game the way players do. With a little better tracking, this system could get perfected even more. -
Bettman would get a heart attack if such an idea was implemented. I'm all for it, though. Not because of the fighting, but because of Bettman's heart attack.

When a player's age catches up with him, it's either a gradual decline or all of a sudden the guy just stops producing and playing the way he used to. It's very possible that the latter is happening to Lidstrom, although it's too early to tell yet. Now that I think about it, how many athletes retired around age 40, not only being the best in the league, but also being just as good as they ever were in their prime? I can't think of anyone right off the top of my head, thus we shouldn't expect Lidstrom to be superhuman until the day he retires. It just doesn't happen like that in sports.

If he dials down his intensity, then Ovechkin will lose much of his magic. His energy and effort is why he's great. Otherwise, he'll be labeled as another unmotivated Euro who just wants money and stats.

Hey, I'm too busy running my oil wells in order to be on this site 24/7. Seriously, though, I bet I have a lot more stuff to do than you, so your remark was purely an uninformed, unintelligent guess. Next time, come up with something better.

He's stil hungover from all the partying he did after winning the Cup. Someone should have told Lebda to slow down over the summer.
-
Exactly. Oveckin should play with the same effort as Robert Lang. Then he can play till he's 40 no problem.
-
Thanks for not waiting like 4 days to respond to my post. If you guys don't like what I posted, too bad. At least I wasn't the one who started calling people idiots all of a sudden for having a different opinion on something. Some posters here really need to grow up with the personal attacks.

If only Bure kept playing and didn't get injured.

So Sopel was the culprit. Thanks for telling me, since I didn't watch the game but only the replay. I hope Sopel keeps his head up the next game, or else he'll run into the "PAIN TRAIN". Oh, yes. There will be blood! I haven't done anything like that in a while.

Horrible news, since he's probably been the hottest forward in the league since last March. Who's the bastard on the replay that ran into him? I want retaliation for the next game, whether it was intentional or not.

My mouth has been foaming all day at the anticipation of this fight. Also, Eager will probably try to challenge McCarty.
-
That's what he deserves for costing us the Cup in 2006. I hate that overrated punk, Legace. Nice going Sarah. After this, she gets my vote for sure.
-
The stream was blurry, but it's better than watching nothing, so us non-Detroit area fans can be grateful for that.
-
They didn't play together when they were in their primes. Otherwise, they would be the best.
-
You're a sad, sorry little man for posting all that and taking a cheapshot at one of the coolest posters here. Just stay off the site if you hate it that much. Go whine in a bar somewhere.

Ellis - Hussey - Langfeld.

Somewhere in Chicago, Patrick Sharp has just s*** his pants.

It's not hindsight, it's common sense. Jackman tends to spotpick a lot, and of course he'll try stuff when no one on the other side is dressed who can do something about it. It's not that hard to figure out, but I guess you have a different idea of what hockey should be than I do.
