Holland's stance on Enforcers: Once and For All
GMRwings1983 replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
What is the meaning of this thread? We all know what Holland's outlook is. Some of us just don't like it. This won't change anything in anyone's mind since most people are already set in their outlook either way. -
Just think of everything Kopecky has ever done that you've seen (except the Sharp fight), and then multiply it by 10. At the end of that, you'll see that he still amounts to nothing so far. If you were in Maine for 2 years you wouldn't have missed him doing anything important.
-
So far it's Hudler and Kopecky. I might give Hudler the benefit of the doubt because he has some skills, but Kopecky has done nothing so far for people to praise him.
-
I was responding to the previous poster's thread so you have to view my post in context. Eventually we will play teams that will play dirty against us, as other posters have pointed out. There are numerous such teams in the league.
-
That's not true because most of our forwards on the PP are left handed, yet it doesn't slow us down. Rafalski is the only real right-handed threat we have. The Wings don't rely on one-timers as much as they used to when Fedorov, Shanahan and Hull were here. We don't have forwards anymore that possess a booming one-time shot.
-
No one we've played this year looked terrified to play us. You're obviously fantasizing in some delusional dream. Instead, teams want to play against us because we're the defending champs. They have even more incentive to run our players and get into our faces. Nobody is afraid of the Wings so far.
-
Watch our players duck and cover like we did 2 years ago. You probably enjoyed that didn't you?
-
Do you seriously not understand that Sammy provides no benefit the way that Rafalski does? There's nothing wrong with having two left-handed point-men on our second PP unit. Believe me, Sammy's absence on the PP would not makes us any worse.
-
Because no other team is as soft as we are right now. If we don't play him, no one else surely will.
-
You really think Sammy can score 37 goals?
-
Who cares if Sammy is right-handed. We already have one right-handed point-man in Rafalski, and as other teams have shown, you don't need any more than that. Heck, some teams only have guys who shoot left-handed on the point, and it seems to work out fine. The only problem with Hossa on the point is that he's more of a set-up man in the slot and in front of the net, rather than a guy with a booming shot. In my opinion, Ericsson should replace Lebda and become our other point-man on the PP. He's got a great shot, and he will complement Kronwall well, I think.
-
I can't get that. I would never develop a man-crush on an undeserving player.
-
Don't confuse the Ducks with the Wings. They actually play enforcers, as do most teams in the league. I guarantee you that just about every team that dresses an enforcer, has a more skilled guy that's a healthy scratch for every game. We should do the same thing, and scratch Kopecky in place of Downey, whether he's more skilled or not. Trust me, it won't make the team that much worse, but will instead change things up a bit. Someone on this team needs to start playing with some physical passion that will rub off on the team. Kopecky can't even rub himself right now.
-
I know. I can't wait until we play the Ducks and Hudler gets run at by Parros all day. Then, it will be time for Kopecky to come in and enforce. That is, unless Sammy gets to Parros first.
-
They have cheerleaders, so they figured those girls should be the ones doing pre-game skates.
-
I think a better post would have been....... Kopecky = D-Bag.
-
Kopecky is a playmaker and goal scorer? Lilja makes his prior opponents cringe every time they hear his name mentioned anywhere.
-
Yes, this again.
-
He's still tougher than marshmallows like Hudler, Sammy, Lebda or Kopecky.
-
Tell that to Patrick Sharp's bloodied face.
-
Keanu should play Gort, since his acting ability is only suited to playing robots or retards.
-
Another sign of what the Wings think about toughness.
-
Come to think of it, he could also be our enforcer.
-
Maybe Gort from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" should be our goaltender.

They need to bring back their old colors (not that old logo). By old colors I mean the purple and green that they used to wear. Those are more original colors than wearing red and white, which at least 10 other teams wear. It's appalling to me how stupid teams are looking for new ideas, when they should just revert to what they used to wear. Look at examples like the Sabres, Canucks, Sharks and many others. Why fix what isn't broken?
