I'm glad he's not coming back, since there's enough players already battling for spots on the 4th line. I cheered for him last year when he was on the Wings, but as a whole I'll never like him looking back upon his career. Too many cheap moments.
-
Sadly, most people here would agree with that joke. Also, don't forget about the greatest 4th liner in NHL history, Thomas Kopecky.
-
You mean some idiot actually voted for one of those guys. Also, who the hell would vote for Sammy?
-
Horrible move. They have a hardworking, clutch player like Lang, and instead they give it to this snot-nosed punk. Unbeilivable.
-
That gets my vote also. I forgot what his name was, but the guy who wore it apparently did it to ward off evil spirits.
-
Homer and Hudler.
-
I think "EPIC FAIL" is what they'll probably put on my tombstone.

Lilja beat up Neil last year by falling on top of him. If you're going to deal anyone, deal Lebda, since he's softer than a teddy bear except for when he parties. Neil would be a nice fit on this team and he could take Kopecky's spot. With Avery and Tucker in the West, we need our own agitator.

Actually, violet eyes are the best.
-
Thye don't need Lilja. They already have Roy, O'Brien and Koci, as well as several other middleweights. A team can only carry so many enforcers on one lineup.
-
Unfortunately yes, because he was considered by many to be the best player in the world for several years. Also, he has the hardware to show for it and the international accomplishments. The fact that he's a piece of trash who should get hit by a beer truck is not something the voters will consider.

It's still the divealanche. As long as they have that moronic, overrated fanbase they will always be my least favorite team. Also, they sport such asswipes as Foote, Lappy, and Floppa.
-
Yuri Butsayev. Just kidding. I'll also go with Probie and Ciccarrelli.
-
I can totally lose myself in those beautiful, brown eyes.

It shouldn't matter that he played with great players. Just about every great player in the history of the game played on some teams that were loaded with Hall of Famers. Fedorov is no exception to that. As I've already said, when he left Detroit, he was past his prime which explains his scoring decline. And Fedorov is a guy that I would definitely say was a great player in his own right, even if he never won anything in his career. I don't know what would make you think otherwise, since he was always so dominant out there in his prime, which lasted quite a long time.

I don't think you guys are taking this seriously enough. It doesn't matter that these guys aren't star players because a team can't be full of star players. However, some of these guys are solid role players, and many of them I would never have expected to play in Russia. All this can only be the beginning of a nasty trend of players jumping to play overseas. It's bad enough for teams to worry that their players might play for some other NHL team, but now they also have to worry about the foreign teams, which wasn't that big a deal in the past.
-
Fedorov's lack of scoring upon leaving Detroit had to do with playing for lousy teams and becoming too old to do the things he used to do. THe only thing that might work against him is an occasional attitude problem and a commitment problem, but I still think that his accolades more than make up for it. If he doesn't get into the HOF, then there are certain guys already there who need to be removed, because he's easily one of the 100 greatest ever to play the game.
-
I still say that he's a lock, and as for Dino, he was not a complete player and doesn't have the international accolades nor the Stanley Cups to show for it. Also, as far as I know he doesn't have any individual awards. He was just a product of playing in an era where everyone scored goals. The only way he doesn't get in on his first try is if he has to compete with a class that was better than him, such as Lidstrom or Chelios if they all retire at the same time. Even then, he'll get in within 3 years of retirement. In other words, he would be a lock all along.
-
He was one of the top 10 players in the world for a long time, and I can differentiate him from guys who played on the Oilers 2nd and 3rd lines in terms of talent and in terms of the Hart trophy and the 2 Selke trophies that he won. Those players you briefly alluded to were just complementary stars, while he was a superstar. He was also a guy who made 6 all star games and was actually held back statistically from playing on a team where the scoring was always so balanced. If not for that, he would have scored even more. And what will put him over the top is his international accomplishments, such as the 3 World Championships and the silver and bronze medals in the Olympics. Remember that this is the Hockey Hall of Fame, and not just for the NHL. If he doesn't get in, then why should Glenn Anderson have gotten in or Cam Neely, who didn't win jack s*** in his career?
-
Fedorov will easily make the HOF. Too many team trophies and individual trophies for him, besides he's one of the best playoff performers the league has ever seen averaging over a point per game. He was also very consistent in his prime. I don't know how this can even be debated.
-
I wish the league went after more players from the LNAH.
-
Datsyuk reminds me of the singer Danzig. Just a weird looking dude.
-
I don't have a problem with not dressing an enforcer for the playoffs, but I do want one for the regular season. The one exception to that is if we're playing a team that loves to play dirty in the playoffs like Calgary or Anaheim.

Kopecky got knocked on his ass half the times he tried to hit anybody. I hope your'e not suggesting that he's a more physical player than Asham. Also, I want to see a guy that will do more than hit, and is willing to back up those hits by dropping the gloves when he has to. We have too many hitters on this team who are afraid to fight. Kopecky is one of them.
