Damn! I was hoping the Wings would get both him and Bouwmeester for $1 million each. Nice going, Kenny. Looks like you screwed another one up.

Wings out of picture for Sundin, Hossa, Rolston

I don't think that's why we lost. The point I was making is that many Cup winner make no changes the next year, and fall on their faces. -

The last time the Wings won the Cup they didn't make many changes the following year. That year we got swept by the Ducks in the 1st round of the playoffs. Just because we won the Cup, doesn't mean that we don't need changes. It's difficult to repeat, and sometimes you have to juggle things a bit. I was hoping Holland wasn't sitting on his ass when it came to some of these big name forwards, but it looks now like he has. -
Ask the people he's demolished. Phaneuf, Sharp, Begin and Neil.
-
If I was Howard, I'd ask for a trade. Any other organization would have given him a shot, but for some reason Holland and Babcock are afraid to give him one. It's not as if this kid is 18 or something. Either make him the backup, or trade him for some value. I could care less what happens in GR if he's not going to eventually be moved up. Conklin seems like a capable backup, but we didn't need this move.

Most out of shape, average joes aren't going to suit up and play football, but they will play golf. And I never said it was an American sport only. I don't know where you got that from. I just said American networks mostly get good ratings only when Tiger Woods plays. And many of those same "sporting" channels you just mentioned cover poker also. Is that a sport?
-
The only thing he showed me last year is that he knows how to party after a Cup win. With that said, I'd get rid of him first. Lilja has too much entertainment value, and the kids in GR have way more potential than Lebda. Also, Chelli is a fan favorite so he can't be the one to go.
-
Football is about as American as any sport can be. As for golf, espn only loves Tiger Woods and not the game itself. Besides, it's not a sport and is only loved by Americans because it can be played by out of shape average joes.

Funny thing is that Melrose was a defenseman. I have no clue what that idiot is doing. And their goaltending is still a joke. My only guess is that maybe they're thinking about trading someone like St. Louis for a big time goaltender.
-
espn hates hockey because hockey is not an American sport. It will be probably be the Giants because they're from New York.
-
But their scoring was already decent. The problem was always that they gave up too many goals. They've spent all their money so far boosting something they already had. It's true that now they have a better 2nd line, but they're still going to be amongst the league leaders in goals given up. Melrose was a defenseman, so I'm surprised he's fallen for this s***.

Lilja could kill this guy if they fought.

Ask Patrick Sharp's face about just how soft Kopecky is.
-
He won the Cup for Calgary in 1989.

This team still doesn't get it do they? In order to win, you need a good defense. Their defense sucks and has sucked for a long time, as has their goaltending. They've gone out so far and made all the wrong moves. Tampa will probably suck again next year, because they haven't addressed their biggest weakness.
-
Great move! This assures me at least 2 more years of material to write about. I can't wait to see who he beats up next year.
-
Like I just said in another post, this is why the league went into a lockout several years back. Too much money for guys who don't deserve as much. I wish the Wings had pursued Malone, but not at the price Tampa paid for him. They can have the guy for that much money if they want, but they better hope he's not a one-hit wonder like Penner turned out to be for Edmonton.
-
Liles is overrated, and now overpaid. Isn't this gross overpayment of players one of the reasons the league went into a lockout several years back?
-
To this date, still one of the most ingenious ideas in the history of LGW. I mean it's only customary for an enforcer to be a winger, right? Then we could fill Drake's spot, and at the same time appease all the unhappy campers who don't want Lilja on defense making turnovers. This could also clear room for Eriksson to get more playing time and develop into a tough customer of his own on the blueline. Am I good or what?
-
What for? We already have Kopecky.

Jose Theodore to test free agent market

He had a pretty good season until he ran into the Wings, so if the divealanche don't want him back, it's on our account. -

The Wings should sign him as a practice goalie. He'd be great at boosting our players' confidence at practice to prepare them for games. -
Old Probert vs. Roenick, McCarty vs Wilkinson video
GMRwings1983 replied to T.Low's topic in General
I wish the WIngs would have never let Probie go. It'd be great seeing him hoist the Cup a few times. -
Rumor has it that Boumeester would be willing to sign for the league minimum in Detroit, just to appease the fantasies of the delusional posters on LGW.

Steve Moore, if that counts. His name was Stacy. That's all you need to know about him. That's a good point, because Flip did have a disappointing and inconsistent season. I guess his numbers weren't that bad in the playoffs, but I'd be looking for something more in a 2nd line center. As far as Bert goes, his injury troubles are not worth pursuing, not for any hefty price that is. If he's willing to sign for less, than maybe, but I still want someone younger and better like Ryan Malone.
