I don't believe this story, considering that Holland is supposedly encouraging someone on the Wings to fight. Besides, all the lessons Quincey needs on fighting, he can pick up from Lilja. The man went undefeated in his fights last year, so you can't have a better teacher than that.

By last season, I meant the season that just expired, hence they didn't make the playoffs. At least with Yashin, you know the team will make the playoffs, and he'll suck. Now without him, they can't even get that far. And Nolan had to demote everybody last year, and likely will up until the time when he gets inevitably fired like every coach will.
-
Sydor? Why don't we sign Mike Rathje while we're at it?
-
I'd love to see Bure get in, but it's never going to happen. Also, why in the hell is Glenn Anderson not in the HOF? He was always a great clutch player, and even though he played with other great stars, his playoff numbers are almost as good as anyone ever to play the game.

You look very pretty even when you look confused. I can also see in your profile that you and I have the same birthday. Fates intertwined, perhaps?
-
You are beautiful. Whoever your prom date was, he's a lucky guy.
-
They clearly missed his leadership last year. They didn't even come close to making the playoffs last year, which as I remember they made two years ago when he was there.
-
He wasn't great, but he wasn't as bad as you say. Statistically he had some worse seasons in St. Louis than the one this year. Their team in general just had trouble scoring goals early on in the season. I don't think it can all be pinned on him. Also, remember that Lidstrom put up lousy numbers in 2004, and he rebounded from that season to win 3 more Norris trophies. So I expect Pronger to bounce back next year and take back his perennial #2 spot behind Lidstrom.
-
I hope you're basing that on stats only, because in my book Pronger is still the 2nd best defenseman in the league.
-
Sign him Kenny! We need another fighter on this team.
-
Who's? You make it sound like every D-man we have is as good as Lidstrom.
-
No worries. I'm sure many more people will join up and say something about Flip's girlfriend.
-
Great news. I'm not like the other posters here who constantly want the young kids to play, as if we have so many great prospects which we know are going to be successful. The only guy I'm not yet sure about is Ericsson, but I'm sure Babcock will give him a chance to show himself, and then we'll find out what he's made of. But I don't mind Chelli coming back. This is good for him, because he can still get paid, and work half of the time, instead of being a full-time defenseman. He still enjoys playing, so I can see why he's coming back.

She looks like she's definitely packing some heat in that photo, especially with all that sweat on her. Nice going Flip!

3 closets? I've always wondered whether Flip was a meterosexual, but this confirms it.

Any thoughts on who will be the next assistant coach?
GMRwings1983 replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
I think Probert would be my first choice, but I don't think he has any intentions to coach. Hey, how about Barry Melrose? He always wanted to work for the Wings as a coach didn't he? Well, this could be his big chance. -
It has to be Kronwall. Everyone knew he was good, but no one thought he'd be as good as he turned out to be all season and in the playoffs. The other guys were on and off all year, while he was solid throughout the entire season.
-
As far as the most prestigious around the league, it would be the Hart. However, the one I think a player should want more than any other is the Conn Smythe, since it usually goes to the team that wins the Cup, and solidifies someone as a great playoff performer.
-
Just think if he didn't play on the same pairing as Schneider in 2004, he would have his 7th straight Norris trophy. I still can't belive he scored somewhere around 40 points that year considering what he usually puts up. I also remember that many people after that season were saying that Lidstrom would still be a good defenseman, but that his streak of Norrises would end. Well, he's won 3 more Norris trophies since then. Unbeilivable.
-
I would have never considered saying this years ago, but even though I currently have Yzerman higher on my all time list, I can see this changing when Lidstrom hangs his skates, because he'll have at least 6 Norris trophies, and a decade of pure dominance on defense, plus he's perfect as a player. Yzerman never quite dominated his era the way Lidstrom has. A lot of that is because of Gretzky and Lemieux, but still, Lidstrom might go down in history as a better player because he's the best at his position for 10 years. Only a few players in history have been the best at their position for 10 years. Also, Lidstrom has been more durable even in his later years, while Yzerman at this point in his career had already began to decline and was riddled with injuries. Anyway, feel free to debate this topic.
-
Huh? He might be the weirdest looking dude I've ever seen.
-
I can't believe Elisha Cuthbert is dating that piece of s***. I think I just threw up in my mouth.
-
He is a scumbag, but that's what I always thought of Dallas Drake, and I had to look the other way while he was wearing the Wings jersey. Also, many people felt the same way about Chelios in 1999. My only concern with Tucker is injuries, but if this team believes he can stay healthy, I'd love to have him and his grit on the roster.
-
I don't think Chelios has Paul Newman's looks.

Higher All Time Ranking: Yzerman or Lidstrom?
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
He was better because of stats and dominance. Sakic's longevity is going downhill after the injuries last year. Also, don't forget that he was never as dominant as Stevie was in his prime. Sakic never scored 60 goals and 150 points in a season.
