That'll be the day. You'll be out of here like a cloud of dust, and will only come back if we play you again in the Finals next year. We've seen fans like you all playoffs, depending on which team we're playing. None of them had the guts to come back.

Funny, because that's what I was thinking of this morning was that Bill Buckner play. If he fields that ball, they win the World Series, just like us with 34 seconds left. I can't think of any other loss in team sports that was as bad as that with the championship practically in your hands.

The article said that no team has ever been closer to winning a Cup than we were with 34 seconds left. I want that number to be erased from my memory forever, instead of haunting me forever.

I hope we can jump on them like they've done to us the last 3 games, and like we did against Dallas in game 6. And hopefully with half a minute left in tomorrow's game, we'll be up by 2 goals, because if we're only up by 1, I'm not going to have much faith after what happened yesterday. As far as the lines go, I'd keep things the way they are at forward, and insert Chelios somehow. The guys just need to score, because as they showed yesterday, the chances will be there.

That's a good point. I'm going to search for it now through the pages, right up to that moment when they tied it up. I found it. On the bottom of page 94, things start getting a little nasty.

Does anyone know what the ratings were for the game, or if the national media even gives a damn? I don't watch espn anymore, but I imagine they're talking about this game after they're talking about some jack-off baseball coverage and after the NBA Finals which haven't even started yet.

If we lose, it will be the worst loss the Wings have had since 1942, but back then no one knew or cared. I don't want to have nightmares about this the rest of my life, and hopefully the players are looking at it similarly, since they don't want to regret it the rest of their careers, even if they've won the Cup before.

Yeah, but against the Devils it was in the ECF, not the SCF. And although the Canucks won games 5 and 6, I don't remember them scoring to tie it up in the last minute of either of those games. I guess my post is confusing to read or something, because people keep coming up with incorrect examples like you just did.

Hank had a chance at the empty net, but didn't even aim for it. I've definitely lost confidence in this team's ability to hold on to a 1 goal lead when the other team pulls their goalie. Yet, we haven't even come close to scoring in the playoffs when we've had to pull our goalie, in the several occasions that it has happened. Too many guys standing around, and as already mentioned, a bad goal given up by Ozzie.

Why do we let Pens fans come on here, just to make smart ass, antagonizing posts? It's the Finals, genius, everyone is nervous, including you, who was probably s***ting his pants during last night's game, knowing that each shot could end your team's season.

Not really. I'm talking about deflections or bad bounces. We scored 2 goals that way, yet in the OT, we constantly passed up on bad angle shots just to try to get into better position for a fancy play, and by that point Fleury was set to make a save. So unroll your eyes, because the post wasn't contradictory.

The WIngs just played like a lazy ass team that kept shooting the puck at the goalie's chest or shoot it wide. We tried to be too fancy in the OT's. Next time they need to throw the puck on net.

Now that I think about it, Hudler isn't really to blame. We could have played 8 OT's, and we still wouldn't have scored the way it looked out there. It was only a matter of time before the Pens scored somehow.

That was game 5, but the Oilers never trailed with 30 seconds left in game 5. If they did, Carolina wouldn't have won that series, eventually.

I wish we didn't even show up and make a comeback during this game. I'd be more content if we lost 4-0, because then we would have come out in game 6 like we did against Dallas. Now, everything is different, because we gave them everything, and I don't know how much we have left.

Naturally, many of us are devastated for a good reason. When was the last time a team gave up a goal with half a minute left to win the Cup, and still wound up winning the Cup later on in the series? For some reason, nothing jumps out at me from memory. At this point the series can go 50/50. That doesn't mean we're done, but before game 5, no one thought this would even come close to happening.
