Roberts? Roberts is an old man and is no match for Lilja. There's only one man on that Pens roster who can match up to the "PAIN TRAIN", and that's Laraque, who spent the entire game 1 avoiding Lilja. Also, Drake would get beat up by Roberts. I would probably sit Maltby, but if Mac goes back to taking stupid penalties, I'd sit him for Maltby in the future.

I wasn't talking about espn. I was talking about all the games being shown on NBC. If NBC has something against hockey, they wouldn't be showing any of the games at all. Yet for some reason, they're only showing games 3 through 7. That's what I was confused about.

Then Crosby could sing the national anthem.
-
I guess he's been working out with Grigorenko in the offseason.

This is becoming a failure to communicate. First we hear he's out, now he's in. I think our team doctors are Pens fans. If Babcock thinks that mule is ready to go, then he should go. The doctors are just wanting to cover their own asses.

I still don't understand why it isn't better for the league to have all the games in the Finals be nationally televised? The ratings would be even higher then.

I remember Babcock saying a while back that Kronwall has been our best defenseman in the playoffs, and at first I thought it was just a compliment, but now I'm wondering if it might be true. Obviously, Lidstrom is still our best D-man, but I don't think it would be unfair to say that Kronwall has been the best in these playoffs. In fact, Lidstrom is playing several minutes less a game than what he's normally used to, which is probably due to Kronwall's awesome play. Also, Kronwall has been scoring just as much as Nick has, and hasn't made any bad mistakes in his own zone. Not to mention those bone crunching hits, which other teams know they're not going to have to fear from Lidstrom. Of course, Lidstrom is still our most important D-man, because we can win without Kronwall, but we can't win without Lidstrom, but it's just something I wanted to ask. Anyway, what do you guys think? Is it a stretch to say that Kronwall has been better in this year's playoffs than Lidstrom?

That's funny, because I could swear that they have about 3 analysts who appear on their channel, who happen to know anything about hockey, out out of the gazillion journalists and analysts that make regular appearances on espn. The rest are just there to make jokes about how the NHL is a league that no one cares about. espn is the devil.

The series is clearly over for Malkin. He should just go back to Russia before game 2, and play with Grigorenko and Yashin, because it's obvious that he can't hack it in this league anymore.

Only they call it basketball.

O'Hallaran - Default call is 'interference'?
GMRwings1983 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
The funny thing is that so much was made from that bad call against Dallas, that I figured we'd get some breaks to even that out. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more wrong, because O'Halloran did the same damn thing. I guess the league is giving him a green light to make as many bad calls against Holmstrom as he damn well pleases. There has to be some supervision coming from the league on this guy. -
Who is this Burnside, and why does he always say something stupid about the Wings?

Has Kronwall Been Our Best Defenseman In These Playoffs?

To be or not to be? -
Watch them mispronounce Lidstrom's name now when we play in s***tsburgh.

What an ungrateful, young pig Crosby turned out to be. -
Bettman: All teams will face eachother next year
GMRwings1983 replied to Chaldean's topic in General
The only words I want to hear out of Bettman's mouth at this point are: "Nicklas Lidstrom, come get the Stanley Cup" -
Crosby will win the Conn Smythe no matter which team wins the Cup. Come to think of it, if we win the Cup, Bettman will still probably ask Crosby to come out and take a picture with him and the Stanley Cup before he invites Lidstrom to come get it.

Has Kronwall Been Our Best Defenseman In These Playoffs?
GMRwings1983 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Most of his PP points occured due to Franzen scoring off of passes or tip-ins from point shots. With Franzen gone, Kronwall has not scored as often, but is still playing great out there. -
Has Kronwall Been Our Best Defenseman In These Playoffs?

I wouldn't go that far just yet. Without Lidstrom, I don't think we'll see anymore automatic 1st place finishes or perennial Cup favorites talk. -
O'Hallaran - Default call is 'interference'?
GMRwings1983 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
How many obviously bad calls does he have to make against us before you change your mind? Now that I think about it, wasn't Sammy's stick in the crease during that 2nd goal? If so, then it should have been waved off based on that new rule which the officials made up as precedent earlier in the night. -

Is there any place north of Detroit where the league could expand? There's not that many Canadian cities where the league even has an option to move. -
O'Hallaran - Default call is 'interference'?
GMRwings1983 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
O'Halloran needs to recuse himself from this series and bow out, because he clearly has some bias against the Red Wings. \ Hopefully, the league will catch on and can this guy. Then again, Bettman probably picked him for this series, because he wants Crosby and the Pens to win. I'm positive that we'll see more interference calls from him throughout this series. -

I'm sure the players who play for that Northern European team would just love the travel across the Atlantic for every other game, right? -
Does anyone know if this has become mandatory for Cup winners, since the Ducks had to do it last year?

He's as shocked as anybody by his play tonight. He didn't know that the shots are supposed to go into the net.
