I thought Maltby was already able to play, but Babcock is keeping him out?
-
True, but you know their idiot fans are going to come on here and make excuses about how they only lost due to injuries and crap like that. Hell, some people here still use excuses about our injuries last year as the reason for why we didn't win the Cup. I would just prefer for the Wings to beat a healthy divealanche team, and not a depleted one, because I still think we'd sweep them.
-
Why are you guys surprised Iginla made it? He was one of the league leaders in scoring. I hate the guy too, but him making it isn't a big deal.
-
Great, now those jackasses and their moronic fanbase are going to make more excuses. Oh well, I guess whatever is bad for them is good for us, without us having to apologize for it.
-
I know you're referring to me, but when it comes to our chances against the divealanche and Stars, I've always been confident that we could roll over those teams. You can't point to one instance where I've been pessimistic about us beating the dives. I can't rememember the last time I enjoyed a series like I'm enjoying this one, knowing what the prospect is of us sweeping their team. It's exhilaratiing!

Rumor is that Claude Lemieux and Ian Lapperierre both work with small children in the community, so we should be nice when we post about them, even if they run our players with cheap shots. Also, Forsberg looks like Jesus with short hair, meaning that we can't say bad things about him no matter what he does. And don't even get me started on the great Joe Sakic, who is obviously Yzerman's twin, to the point where we should revere him as highly as we did Stevie.

Because Granato is an annoying twirp just like Avery.
-
Quenneville is. He reminds me of a dumb policeman with that bulldog face and that out of date moustache. I just hope we play his teams in the playoffs every year, because I miss those good old days when we romped through the Blues in the playoffs each year. He has absolutely no clue what he's doing, especially when it comes to goalies.
-
But you're forgetting that the amount of assists Gretkzy put up catapulted him ahead of anyone else as far as all time playoff scoring goes. No one is in his league in that department, except for Lemieux.
-
Quenneville has no idea how to win in the playoffs, and this is further proof that he's an imbecile when it comes to managing his team in the clutch. Theodore has looked like a fish out of water in this series, while Budaj has been solid. Oh well, I guess it'll only make it easier for us. Anyone know when was the last time a goalie was pulled in 3 straight games?
-
People forget too easily what kind of numbers Gretzky and Lemieux used to put up in the playoffs when their teams won Cups. They'd make Franzen's current stats look insignificant and laughable. Also, even though I hate their stupid ass team, Sakic's performance in 1996 was incredible. I think he scored something like 18 goals that year in the playoffs. I don't know if we'll ever see that again.
-
Exactly. We have a better history against Dallas than against San Jose, and without Robert Lang, I'm not confident of our chances at beating the Sharks.
-
Not really. It's all about matchups, and I think we match up better against Dallas, even though they matchup better against San Jose and Anaheim than we do.
-
Those idiots can use whatever excuses they need to in order to feel like their pathetic team has a chance. Back then they had a real goalie and a good system. Right now they're just not in our league. With Dallas succeeding like they are, I'm already thinking of how we'll match up against Pittburgh in the Finals. I'm not worried about the remaining teams in the West.
-
Exactly. I wouldn't change a damn thing. We're fine. Colorado's strategy will be to get outshot 3 to 1, and hope that their goalie stands on his head while they score some fluke goals on the other end of the ice. There's no other strategy they can have, since they're simply outclassed by our defense and our system.
-
The league needs the Wings in the finals, no matter which team comes out of the East. The easiest matchup for us would be Montreal, but I doubt they'll be the team to make it out.
-
I know. Game 4 is Thursday, which is four whole days away. That's a long wait for me.
-
As far as I'm concerned, only when Lilja lands on top of somebody can it be called a win. When anyone else does it, it's not enough to say that the guy won the fight. More is needed, and McCormick didn't do more. This isn't baseball where we judge winners based on who tackled who to the ground.
-
We own that building and besides there will be many Wings fans in attendance. We always beat those idiots there.
-
Mac is 36 years old. Of course Downey would have done better. Also, it wasn't a knockdown, since he didn't land anything flush to call it a knockdown. He just hit Mac in the back of the shoulder as they were going down to the ice.
-
I hate casual fans anyway, so I could care less if they wanted to see a close game. I want us to win every game this way, instead of worrying about the league's ratings. Someone has to be a moron anyway to be watching baseball or NASCAR instead of hockey.
-
Exacly. Where's the great Joe Sakic at? The only time his name has been mentioned the first 2 games was when Hank made him look silly out there on the 5th goal today.
-
Forsberg is about as reliable as having a hooker for a girlfriend. Why are they surprised that he's not there for them when they need him to be? That idiot is always injured. They have no chance of winning a game against us. Floppa isn't going to play defense and he isn't a goalie either. Our system is just way better than their system, and their defense can't handle us. Also, Theodore is overrated and can only look impressive when he's playing the Wild. Forsberg can't help any of those things. He's just another skilled forward, of which they have plenty of. People hate the WIngs, so they're going to make excuses for the other team, and Floppa is the easiest excuse for them to make, even though he wasn't even a member of the team until March. Next week at this time we'll be getting ready for another series, so I can't wait till all this Forsberg talk stops.
-
They're going to goon it up now. I don't expect their skill players to play that much in this game anymore.
-
I have to call it a slight edge to Mac, because the dives player got the takedown, but not any decent punches.
