Why can't Andreas Lilja ever get opportunities like this? That just shows you how unfair and baffling this world really is.

I think this series has more importance than any series we've played since 2002. Losing to any team in the playoffs is deflating, but losing to this team woud just be downright humiliating and awful to have to get over because of how much I hate them. Even losing to the Ducks last year wasn't as bad as this would be. I'm sure they feel the same way on the other side, so I'm saying that all the chips are on the line for this one.

How can you take Cleary over Hejduk? Cleary has done nothing offensively, while Hejduk is a great sniper. Also, it's not a one on one comparison as much as an overall comparison. Yeah, you admitted that Brunette is better than Sammy, but it's the disparity between those 2 that you didn't mention as far as gravity goes. The same thing could be said about Stastny and Fillpulla. The difference between those 2 players as far as production is huge, since Stastny is way better. Thus, your comparisons are greatly misleading.

I will say this. Their group of forwards is better overall than our group of forwards. They have Sakic, Forsberg, Stastny, Smyth, Hejduk, Brunette, Wolski. They don't have any questions about secondary scoring like we have. Our defense is better than theirs, but against Nashville our defense got outscored by Nashville's, which has to change. The good thing for us is that Joel Quenneville has never had any success against us, we own the Pepsi Center, and we have owned their team in recent memory. Also, they don't have the type of big, physical team that the Wings usually struggle against. I think we'll take this series in 4 games, because we're just plain better than they are with our system and structure.

If that analyst constantly made fun of foreign players and made foolish statements about them, then that analyst would be fired instantly. There's too many civil rights groups here as well as the FCC, that would prevent anyone like Cherry from appearing on national television in America regularly.

To me making statements against a particular nationality is not any more tolerant than making statements against someone's race. It can be a form of disguised racism.

I guess in Canada racism isn't looked at the same way as America, because in the U.S. this jackass would have been fired twice faster than Don Imus or Rush Limbaugh. The way Helm looked today, I can't believe this kid didn't play more this season. To me, there's no way in hell that he sits when Maltby returns. He was maybe our best player today. So to answer my own question, I think Sammy should sit for Maltby. The only player who's looked more useless offensively than Sammy is Cleary, and he works too hard out there to be benched. Also, Drake and McCarty have both brought a physical edge, and Hudler has been stellar to everyone's surprise. So that leaves Sammy out of the lineup in my mind for when Malts comes back. Do you guys agree?

Hopefully they'll lose game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to us on a bad call. Watch what happens then.

My opinion? I'm not in the minority on this, you are. Everyone has already posted the reasons for why he stinks, namely the turnovers and the lack of physical effort. That might now show up on the stat sheet, but to me that is just as important as how many points he scored, which as I said earlier, is skewed based on how many shots he took. I'm just saying that at this point he needs to be benched because he's not one of the 12 most useful forwards on the team as far as what roles the team needs filled. He was no more consistent a secondary scorer than anyone else on the team this season, but other guys brought something else to the table. In his case, he does nothing else, and at this point he isn't even scoring either. Also, I do cheer for Sammy to play well, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with him being in the lineup or the foolish mistakes that he makes. I don't have to blindly worship every player on the team. There's only a few guys who get immunity from me.

I hate them more than you do. Maybe we can have a LGW competition of some sort, where we'll finally crown a winner of which LGW member hates the divealanche the most.

I don't know about that. The Panthers made the finals in 1996 and hockey hasn't exactly survived there. It's a noble gesture by the league, but the bottom line is that most of these southern teams will only have a fanbase if they're in the finals, and even then hockey will be a bottom tier sport compared to the major American-invented sports. Personally, I don't think they should have a team, because although they were loud in the playoffs, their attendance was dismal last year. They're going to have to show more consistency from year to year to get legitimacy from me.

Has there been an explanation yet for why Hartigan played all those games instead of Helm?

Preds Nation consists of a bunch of old ladies waving pom-poms. I'm still not convinced that they have a real fanbase, since it's just a bunch of dumb hicks who cheer when there's an icing and make foolish chants that no one can understand. I'm happy we advanced, but I'm even more happy we made those idiots go home disappointed yesterday.

Opie, Sammy's stats aren't that impressive considering how often he plays, the players he plays with, and the amount of shots he takes on net. His goal scoring this season was pitiful compared to his shots taken. The stats you're looking at are greatly skewed in that regard. Anyone could have scored more goals than him with that amount of shots. Yeah, he didn't prevent us from winning this season, but it's not like he did much to help. There's no reason waiting for him to cost us a game with a dumb turnover before we all agree that he should be benched.
