Just put me on ignore, and stop surprising me with meaningless posts, because I've never even heard of you.
-
I know! This could be the turning of a new leaf.
-
I just got pleasantly surprised in life. I guess there's a first time for everything.
-
The sad thing is that they don't have Arnott or Legwand tonight. This would be an embarassing loss for many more reasons than one.
-
I hate how life is always so predictable following in the same patterns. Now if we could score in OT, then I'd be the most surprised person on the planet.
-
We destroyed Calgary in game 5, this looks like the Anaheim game as I called it at the end of the 2nd.
-
Drake needs to run him, to rattle him a little. Common Drake you always did it against us, now do it for us.
-
How many useless slapshots have we taken in this game, where Ellis has a good view of the puck? Yeah, it worked for Arnott in game 3, but usually those types of shots don't go in. Like I said, we need more deflections and dirty goals. Like the ones Trashville gets.
-
Why can't our guys ever get deflection goals like everyone else does on us? It's the quality of the shots that counts, and not the quantity. We need to send more people to the net for deflections, and our D has to get shots through. Our defense has done nothing offensively in this series.
-
Yeah, but the point is the game went to OT. This could be in the makings for the same result. I hope this team hasn't forgotten that game. Also, it looks like Sammy has infected everyone to shoot at the goalie's crest, with the exception of Flip on that 1st goal.
-
This is reminding me of game 5 last year against Anaheim. We need a bigger lead.
-
There is no game 7 in this series. Whoever wins this game will win the series in 6.
-
It's good to see fans showing passion, and they're real hockey fans, not like those cow-bred hicks in Trashville. I have no problem with this, and I wish Wings fans were passionate enough to shout chants like this at Tootoo or Pronger.

He'd be a great enforcer along with PAIN TRAIN and Downey. Sign him Kenny.
-
Until we win tonight. Of course if we don't, then expect this thread to be 10 times as long, even though he isn't even playiing.
-
Rumor is that he blames Lidstrom for all his soft goals. Just adding a little fuel on the fire.
-
Well, I guess he can't be any more useless than Hartigan, but I'd still like to see Downey play, to give us a true checking line.
-
Don't forget Kariya played there too.
-
Lilja + Downey > Lebda + Hartigan. It's that simple.

People here are concerned because they've seen this too many times in the past. Every other season since 2000, the Wings have been eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs, despite having one of the top 2 or 3 records in the league. Basically the Wings are like the boy who cried wolf, so it's only natural for some people to not believe their regular season successes anymore. I still think we have a great chance to win this series, but I wouldn't be surprised anymore if we lost, based on our history.

Having veterans is the most overrated thing in sprots as the Wings have shown in meltdowns in the past. The younger teams seem to be hungrier than the Wings, which more than makes up for lack of veteran leadership, especially when you consider that the best leadership is that by example.

Or as Sinatra would say.... Bewitched, bothered and bewildered.

If we lose this series, will Holland be fired?
GMRwings1983 replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
Not really. The title of the thread was should he be fired "IF" we lose. I remember people here last year were happy after the Anaheim series that this team showed toughness and courage in the playoffs, and seemed to get past its early round blunders. Likewise, everyone mentioned how without injuries we would have won the Cup. Thus, if this team goes out in the 1st round now, all that progress we made last year can be flushed right back down the toilet, since this team seems to have regressed with Holland in charge. And please people, stop mentioning 2002. Holland used Ilitch's money to make moves anyone else would have made if they had the cash. Also, it didn't hurt to have Bowman as the coach helping him look smart. -
Anytime people have serious obsessions with someone famous, it's a bit disturbing. When it's a small child, that makes it even more disturbing. Hopefully when he hits puberty he will be past this strange fascination, with Kiprusoff of all people.

Ellis sucks. He's given up bad goals and too many rebounds. The only problem is that our goalie sucked even more. For once we can't make excuses of the other goalie standing on his head.
