What team is Stuart playing for?

The new line combos have got to go. It's time to put our big guns back together and try to finish this series right here in the 3rd.

It is too early to tell, but if the Wings don't have a breakdown there, we'd easily win this game and the series with a sweep. However, now the Wings have to put up a superior 3rd period to turn things around. Thus, they've made it harder on themselves than what it should be. Hell, with your reasoning, we'll be fine if we're up 2 games to 1, or even if it's tied at 2-2, since we'll still have home ice advantage. People are just bitching because this team has melted down in two consecutive 2nd periods. Hopefully, it won't matter if we go on to win this game.

Damn! I was watching a clinic and a hockey game broke out. Oh well, both games 1 and 2 were close also.

Hasek has been great, but I thought last year he tired out as the playoffs went on. We need to finish this series quick, to get him and everyone else more rest.

I voted yes. Unfortunately, injuries are a part of hockey, and I don't think we'll be able to keep everyone healthy throughout the playoffs each game. It's just rare to see that. Thus, Downey will play for someone.

Great post. That's exactly what I was thinking. The Wings are great at finishing teams off, so if we go up 3-0, I think we'll win in a sweep. The last thing I want is a repeat of last year or 2004, where the Wings lost both road games, and had to claw their way to win the series. This team has to come out with more intensity than Nashville, which will be hard, because Nashville has more to play for with their season on the line.

How many penalties do you guys think they'll call on us the first 10 minutes after all the bitching Nashville has done? In my opinion, our PK unit better win this game for us early on, or it could be a long night.

To answer the original poster's question, what happened to Lebda is exactly what should have happened to him. He got kicked out of the top 6 rotation. As many have already alluded, he should try being a speedskater more than a hockey player. He can't shoot, can't hit, can't fight, and isn't all that great defensively. As the Wings have shown so far, when we're healthy, he's not really all that missed.

Yeah, I think this is what Trashville is trying to do, much like Phil Jackson always does it in the NBA. When you ***** about the officiating enough, eventually they'll start making favorable calls for you just to avoid more criticism.

Eva, I might be wrong, but didn't Carolina win the Cup in 2006 after going down 2-0 to Montreal? Also, you guys are all overreacting. If we were down 2-0 to Nashville, most people here wouldn't be saying that it's over. These are the defending champs we're talking about, and Dallas isn't exactly known for being a great playoff team that can close series' out.

I can't believe that a non-existing hockey city with a non-existing fanbase is making such a big fuss when they've clearly been outplayed in both games, and their top players have done nothing. Let's face it, they'd find something else to ***** about without the calls, such as Legwand and Sullivan being hurt, or Kariya, Timmonen and Floppa leaving. Their team is just shooting in the dark, hoping that they'll hit something. They're going down in 4 or 5 games, and the Wings will have bigger fish to fry.

This isn't the NBA. In hockey, it's next to impossible for refs to purposely send a team to the Finals.
