Is there any word on whether McCarty will be a regular now with these injuries?
-
Ah, but that's not bandwagoning. Bandwagon fans are those who only pay attention to the team and want them to win, when the season is going well. I'll always watch the Wings, and will always want them to win. We have a different definition of what bandwagon fans are. Based on your definition, all Leafs fans and all Cubs fans are bandwagon fans, because they always criticize their team. Hence, your definition is unsatisfactory, since it is too broad.

Unfortunately, this means Hudler will see more ice time. Last year it was much worse, and back then the injuries occurred in the playoffs. Carol? Hey, at least this means Downey will get time in the playoffs. See Crymson, I'm thinking positively now about something good happening from a bad situation. Does that make you happy about how far I've progressed?

I'll admit that I'm pessimistic, but I don't like being accused of rooting for another team. You sound foolish when you say that, since you don't know anything about me. Just because I have doubts doesn't mean I don't still root for us whether we win or lose. As far as I know, criticizing the team isn't against board rules, so I'll continue to post it, if that's what I feel at that moment. If you want to keep reading, that's fine, if not, put me on ignore as I'm sure many others have done. You're not the official police around here. Stop making self-righteous posts.

I'd bench all of those players, and dress only goons from the LNAH, kind of like that last scene in Slapshot. This way we could run Chicago's players all night, and not have to worry about any of our regular guys getting suspended, or any of our important players getting injured. Also, I'd dress Sammy.

I'm guessing Preds fans aren't too thrilled about another chance of facing San Jose.
-
Yeah, I have to agree. Unfortunately the Wings always have to face that argument, but great teams in league history have never been affected by not having anything to play for towards the end of the season. This team better be smart enough to learn from the 2006 debacle, since most of those players are still here. Well, except for Legace.

So if I have doubts about us beating Anaheim, does that mean that I can affect the outcome of a series? As usual, your'e being hypocrytical. And there's plenty of Wings players that I don't complain about and down, so stop overreacting to every post I make. You're starting to sound like a broken record, and so am I by responding to your aimless criticisms.
-
The one problem with Pittsburg vs. Washington is that Wings fans not living in Detroit would have a hard time getting any games on Versus, since that series would be the one getting all the TV time if they play on the same day.
-
If anyone would rather see the Wings play Calgary, then they ought to have their head examined. They're a lot more physical than Nashville, with a tougher road environment, more travel, and a better goalie. Let San Jose play Calgary, since that would be a tougher test for them.
-
I'd rather not have Carolina in there, since they're not a real hockey market. Also, after last night's scuffles, I'm not too sure if Philly and Pittburgh wouldn't be a great series, even though I'd love to see Brashear vs. Laraque and Crosby vs. Ovechkin in the 1st round.

Crowder was a beast, while Peters is nothing but a clown who looked like he had some upside for a while. All he does is just hold that right arm cocked, without ever throwing it. Crowder never had the attitude problems that Peters is having with being an enforcer. As far as I know, his health is fine.
-
Why, because he wants a little more toughness on this team? Great answer on your part.

"Well, I'm the only one here"

I was being sarcastic, since I always get accused of such things whenever I mention any criticism of anybody on the team. It's popular now on this site to accuse someone of not being a real fan if they criticize any aspect of the team, so I was just trying to blend in with some of the so-called good guys.
-
I'd give it to Orr or Brashear, probably Brashear. Everyone else didn't fight that much, and Laraque has just gotten on my nerves too much for me to say anything good about him. Actually, now that I think about it, Brashear only had 13 fights, but that's exaclty what it has come down to with enforcers not fighting as often. Also, the s***tiest fighter of the year goes to Andrew Peters. He's fallen into the toilet fast. And last, but certainly not least, I've got to give kudos to the "PAIN TRAIN", for being in 3 fights, and going undefeated without ever having to throw a punch. I don't think that's been done very often.

I agree, and I think there's too many self-righteous posters here, who believe that their overconfidence in their team is somehow a sign of them being right and everyone else being wrong. If anyone disagrees with them, that person gets labeled as a Ducks supporter. It's just like the Red Scare in America's history. Idiotic, irrational, and started by a few self-righteous buffoons.
-
You know what, if you're going to criticize the team like that, just go root for Anaheim and Brian Burke.
-
I thought you said there were a bunch of teams that would outmuscle the Wings. Now you're only suggesting the Ducks to be the team that will do it, with which I'll agree with you. My fear of the Ducks is their talent level in all areas, as opposed to their grit. That is one thing Wings fans have never had to worry over in the past, namely being more talented than the opposition. With the Ducks, it will be the first time someone is more talented than the Wings. The grit is secondary, and it all has to do with attitude, as the Sharks and Flames showed last year.

Is Nicklas Lidstrom going to win the Norris Trophy again?
GMRwings1983 replied to sputman's topic in General
I don't see how Phaneuf can win, unless the voters are tired of giving it to Lidstrom every year. Anyway, that article was from the Calgary Herald, which I think it's safe to say is biased as hell on this matter. -
He better be sharp, or else you'll have 2 straight days of doing a lot of explaining.
-
The Flames and Sharks didn't look physical at all against us, and the Ducks beat us because of clutch goals and clutch goaltending, not because of grit. Also, we had 2 of our top 4 defensemen injured. You're still thinking of the seasons before last year, when this team got outmuscled in the playoffs. Last year it was different.
-
Not to the point where I'd be having multiple orgasms over it. Is their win such a big moment in Blackhawks history? Come to think of it yes, when it comes to the last 10 years. But still, it shows you how sad that entire organization is.

Is Nicklas Lidstrom going to win the Norris Trophy again?
GMRwings1983 replied to sputman's topic in General
I don't think getting his ass kicked by Lilja is going to get him any extra votes. This should be Lidstrom's easiest Norris win ever, since the rest of the competition is far behind. Gonchar might steal some votes, but he still sucks in his own zone, and if he wins the Norris, the league should disband the trophy. Phaneuf might start a run of his own, but it isn't going to start this year. -
Did you even watch the playoffs last year?
