I remember a few years back people were saying that Hank was way ahead of Pavel defensively, but I don't think that's true anymore. The biggest advantage to me is in durability, and right now Pavel has been a lot healthier than Hank at this point in his career. I'd probably choose him just for that reason, since everything else is about equal.

You're underestimating the quality of that picture. I'm a Hasek fan? Well, that's news to me. At least Puckloo would be proud.
-
He left the short side too open on the McDonald goal. The Johnson goal didn't look like a deflection, but even if it was, it didn't change direction that much, and was deflected near the blueline. Also, Tkachuk wasn't screening Ozzie, so he could see the entire play. I'm just saying he looked shaky, and obviously got outplayed by that little rat Legace, who cost us the 2006 Cup.
-
I always thought the poster was a girl. If I'm wrong, that'll definitely offend him.
-
I agree, but Homer hasn't played well since he got hurt way early in the season. If he comes back, it'll take him a while to get back to form. I'd still put Homer on the 1st line, though. Also, please tell me the girl on the left in your avatar is single.
-
Top 6? He played his way out of a spot period. He was directly responsible for 2 of the goals. Also, Ozzie is clearly not the guy to lead this team in the playoffs. He looked off tonight on 3 of the goals.
-
Don't forget the 1st goal was also his fault when he didn't pick up Boyes. That little hobbit turd needs to be benched.
-
Hudler should be benched permanently. That idiot has cost us 2 goals now in this game. It's one thing to waste time on the 4th line, it's another thing to blow goals.
-
Why does the man that cost us the Stanley Cup in 2006 always play so damn well against us?
-
We need to send Kopecky there to toughen him up.
-
I need to find a way to get you suspended, Lou.
-
That idiot Hudler is responsible for that first goal, by not picking up his man. He gives me less and less reasons to want him out there on the ice. Why is he dressed?
-
Has Babcock lost his freaking mind or something? The Blues are going to dress a team full of tough guys who are just there to run our skilled players and send us some message for next year, while Babcock responds by scratching Downey. I'm not saying McCarty shouldn't be dressed, but I would rather see Hartigan, Hudler, or Kopecky scratched, because they couldn't defend their teammates if their lives depended on it. This is exacly the kind of game that Downey should be dressed for, with nothing on the line in the standings. Why is he here if he's not playing tonight? I hope nothing bad happens to anyone tonight, but with less than 2 weeks in the season, I'd like to know that someone is out there to defend our skilled players. Even if nothing big goes down tonight, I still think that Babcock is missing the point.
-
If he was, he's not doing a very good job of coming back as an undercover poster.
-
Right, so apparently you know more than every other coach in the NHL, and every other coach in league history, since enforcers have always been a part of the game, and are still used by other teams. Why not? Is Hudler - Kopecky - Drake a more productive line statistically? Hudler hasn't done anything offensively in several months, while Kopecky hasn't done anything all year except get bounced around like a ragdoll. I'm not talking about a tough lineup in general, what I was posting about is the need for a tough lineup specifically tonight against the Blues, who like to goon it up against us. We've got to match up properly against the opposition, and this doesn't seem to be the best lineup against physical, dirty teams.
-
Not necessarily for me, because some teams, although few, don't dress tough guys. The Blues had 3 the last time we played them, not counting that cheap punk Jackman, who seems to have some obsession with fighting Datsyuk. I just don't understand why of all games, this is the one Downey is scratched for.

This happens all the time in lawsuits, so I don't know why you guys are making such a big deal out of this. Yeah, I agree it's strange, but so is this whole situation. It's not very often in sports, even in hockey, that an athlete is being sued for injuring someone, deliberate or not. How come Fedoruk didn't sue Orr last year for sending him to the hospital? It was deliberate wasn't it? I agree that Bertuzzi's play on Moore differs from a fighting situation, but if he feels like he can get Crawford for some cash, then why not? If what Bertuzzi says about Crawford is true, then he's to blame at least somewhat for this fiasco.

You're right, I forgot about Dandenault. People here made him sound like a big fighter several months ago.

I think the teams that Gary Bettman wants to see in the playoffs are the only ones that should be allowed in. Another proposal could be that the team with the best record in the West each year gets an automatic bye into the finals. This way only 9 teams would make the playoffs every year. I've been proposing that for a while now.
-
Great, now the Wings are going to sign more players from Quebec's junior league.
-
The reason why I don't want the Wings to play the Canucks: Sleep. I need at least 6 hours each night, especially during finals week. Hopefully one day some idiot working for the NHL will realize that Detroit is nowhere near the Pacific time zone.
-
The reason they had a super easy path is because they dominated those teams. How do you know the Wings would have steamrolled Luongo with his hot goaltending? I won't mention Minnesota, because I do think they're a cakewalk. The Ducks beat everyone they had to beat, including the Wings, and the best the East had to offer in Ottawa. I hate them also, but let's not diminish their accomplishment, and make excuses for the Wings. No one in 10 years is going to remember these petty excuses, but only what's written in the record book.

Lilja has some pretty good tattoos, although I don't think they're full sleeves.
-
It would be meaningless with Parker's beard.

Because they scored the clutch goals in the series and we didn't. In any sport, the team that wins a series is usually the team that makes clutch plays at the end. Also, their goalie was more clutch late in games than our goalie. Imagine if Hasek makes that save on Selanne, or Datsyuk scores that goal in OT instead of shooting it wide. Or if Franzen clears that puck, or if Drapes wins that faceoff at the end of game 2. The point is that the Wings didn't make enough key plays to win. Yes, injuries had an effect on the team, but they could have won even with the injuries if they made the right plays at the end of games.
