I don't know when was the last time you guys looked at the standings, but there's a good chance that the Stars can drop all the way to 8th, the way the other teams are moving up. The Stars are sliding fast lately. I'd love to play them in the 1st round if that happens.

The Stars have fallen off the map, from the pedestal some were placing them on a month ago. I don't think they could beat anyone in the first round right now, especially with Turco's inconsistent goaltending. I wouldn't want to see the Ducks until the final round. If we were to beat them, we'd then have to face San Jose after a grueling series. Then again, none of this really matters, because no one 2 years ago thought that Edmonton would be a tough matchup for the Wings, with a young team, and an old goalie who never amounted to anything. I'll be happy to take a 1st round win against anyone right now, whether we play the Ducks in the 2nd round or not.

Kopecky doesn't enjoy the slick marketing from me that Lilja gets. For that reason, he'll never be anything more than a big, non-physical Euro. Also, he doesn't look intimidating enough to be the PAIN TRAIN.

All I know is that this season he hasn't thrown a punch, yet he's unbeaten in 3 fights. To me that's the mark of a dominant fighter. And if you want to know what happens when he throws punches, just ask Patrick Sharp's face.

I think Holland and Babcock have instructed Lilja not to fight. At least that's the explanation I've formulated in my mind.

It's good to see that the divealanche are back up to their old tricks. Maybe Floppa can teach all the youngsters on that team how to dive like little *******, so they can be just like him. That's called leadership by example. The referee should be fired, because of Floppa's reputation. There's no point in fining him, though, since the gimp will probably reinjure himself soon enough. We can only hope.

No way Hudler deserves a roster spot right now over Downey. Hudler has done about as much offensively lately as Downey has, with no physicality to boot.

Sorry to ruin your post Kp, but I've been saying for a while that Lilja should be a forward. He could be that gritty 4th line Canadian that we could use on our 4th line where enforcers are traditionally dressed. Really, he's no worse a skater than Downey or McCarty. Also, he wouldn't cough the puck up as much leading to direct scoring chances. As for Meech, it all depends on what his experience is as a forward. His size might be a problem, especially if he's going to play on the 4th line, where ideally you want grinders. It's the same problem that Hudler faces on the 4th line.

Why doesn't Quincey ever fight when he's called up, dammit? I guess he should know by now that fighting isn't the best way to make this team's roster.

Well, getting out of the 1st round has been hard the last several years, so we need all the help we can get. With Franzen's recent play, it sounds like some people are forgetting what Homer can bring to this team. Granted, if we play the divealanche in the first round, we could win without him easily, but some of the other matchups could prove more dangerous.

Why would anyone start this thread, and then put Hudler on their 2nd line? He doesn't have either scoring or toughness. In fact, he hasn't done too much of anything lately. As for the proposal to put Sammy on the 1st line, I'll defer to every other poster.
