I wouldn't call Barnaby overrated. Early in his career he was a pretty good fighter, although he was backed up by Rob Ray and Brad May. By the time he had that fight with Mac, he was already useless as a fighter. Also, I just found a great video of Brashear getting his ass kicked by Simon, when he started his career in Montreal. I don't think Brashear has ever been pounded like that since then.

LGW should sue him for plagiarism. Actually, as a pessimist, I can't wait for the playoffs to start to get my blood boiling again. Until then, it's all just meaningless talk and banter about possible matchups and line combos, and whether Crosby is overrated.

He should be fired if he doesn't. The Grind line is a staple of Wings hockey, and we're entitled to see it one more time, like an old band getting back together. It's just now sinking in how cool it'll be to see him back out there in his Wings jersey. I hope he does enough to earn a spot with this team.

Here's a couple of great slugfests involving Tie Domi. I know many people hated him, but he gave up lots of size to just about everyone he fought, yet that never affected him. Definitely a top 10 guy in my book for his willingness and longevity taking on all-comers.

Great, now we can bench either Sammy, Hudler, or Kopecky for the playoff run. Too bad for Lidstrom that he has to give up the captaincy, but it's all for a good cause.

Why are so many of you assuming that we'll get past the 1st two rounds easily without him? We need him back right away, especially if we play the Ducks in the 2nd round, which is more than possible.

To me, a real fan is someone who roots hard for his team every game, and gets devastated when that team loses, especially in the playoffs. I qualify easily for those descriptions. However, I do have doubts about this team matching up with certain others, and that doesn't mean that I'm not a real fan. Based on your guys' assessments of a real fan, no one in Toronto is a real Leafs fan, because they never think that their team will win. Similarly, you could say that about any bad teams and their fans. I'm just tired of certain posters calling me out about matters they know nothing about. If someone said that I wasn't a real fan to my face, I'd beat the hell out of them.

Here's a KO that proves that anything can happen in a fight. It feels weird seeing Probert laying on the ice like that, but to his credit he came back later that game to get revenge.

As I posted earlier, it's amazing how the first shift with Sammy not on the top line resulted in Hank's goal. Babcock's man crush on Sammy needs to stop. This hack needs to be put on the 4th line, where none of us will mind him taking shots and making a fool of himself. This is a perfect compromise for everyone.

You're still wrong Crymson. I get devastated every year after the Wings lose in the playoffs, and it takes me a long time to get over it. You act like you can see into my living room or something. I've never stopped rooting for the Wings even if I feel they're going to lose. A fairweather fan is someone who only roots for the team when they win. If you think that's what I am, then once again you know nothing about me. The fact that I'm willing to make certain criticisms of this team doesn't mean that I don't root for them every night. You're obviously confused about me, and I know that's your opinion, but I'm not going to let you post all this false crap about me lying down.

I still think Grimson's KO of Simpson that I posted earlier was the best that I've ever seen. It looked so effortless. The most brutal KO I've ever seen was last year when Orr laid out Fedoruk. I've seen guys get carried out on stretchers before after fights, but always after their head hit the ice. Fedoruk, on the other hand, got knocked cold from the punch itself.

Thank god we don't have any players on the Wings that would make dumb plays like that.

There's no point in even mentioning European players, since the scouting isn't as good overseas, and scouting isn't an exact science as it is even with North American players. Hell, the Wings have several Europeans that have been better than expected, and several others like Grigorenko, Bykov, Kuznetsov, Anders Ericsson, that turned out to be busts.

It must be a coincidence that as soon as Sammy left the 1st line, they scored a goal.

I'm tired of your pointless witchhunting tactics. I support the team as much as anybody. Just because I have some doubts and have the balls to express those doubts on a fan site doesn't mean I'm not a real fan. Do you work for the FCC or something? Where do you come off with these moralist posts? You don't know jack about me, so stop pretending that you're my psychiatrist or something. If this site was full of people like you, it wouldn't be fun to post here anymore, since there would be no contrasting opinions whatsoever. If you don't like my posts just put me on ignore. You might have to get in line for that, but if it's bothering you that much, it's well worth the wait.

This is not good news. We can't win the Cup unless all our key players are healthy and able. Even though Franzen has played well, Homer being out is a big blow to our top 6. I just hope we don't have to go through the same injuries that we had last year in the playoffs.
