Thanks. I didn't answer that earlier post because I knew that either you or one of the other 2 or 3 fight fans here would actually do something about it. That's exactly what I would have said, though.

After seeing his fight with Walker, I'm not sure I'd want to see a mean streak out of him. We don't need a human punching bag on this team. Homer doesn't have a mean streak, and I'm just fine with his style of play. Franzen just needs to keep driving the net and playing strong on the puck, which is what I think he should do with his size. I don't ever see him being a hard hitter or a fighter.

That shouldn't matter, because this isn't a civil trial where you have to show damages. The league doesn't want someone doing this again, because the next time somebody could be hurt. Unfortunately, the 0 game suspension isn't going to deter anyone.

Just about every NBC game has either the Rangers, Penguins, or Flyers. It's called east coast bias, and it's absolutely annoying.

It would have to be someone like Hudler, because those are the only types of guys that Pronger will fight. I don't see him ever throwing willingly with enforcers on a consistent basis. So your propostion is noble, but under the circumstances, unrealistic.

I wish someone would punch him right in the adam's apple when he's unsuspecting, to show him a little taste of his own medicine. He's like that bully in "A Christmas Story" who acts tougher than what he really is.

Pam is hot and she seems like a genuinely good person. Yeah she's had trouble choosing the right guy, but many women have trouble with that, especially celebrities. I don't see how someone can not like her. She's really good looking, so it's not like her breasts are her only physical attribute.

I doubt the clip will show that it was as intentional as the Simon stomp. Then again, the league is stupid, so you never know. The bottom line is that Pronger acts way tougher than he really is, and is a spotpicker that pretty much needs to be surrounded by tough guys so that no one stomps on him one day. He's a slightly tougher version of Ulf Samuelsson.

Ducks fans. I'm just kidding. Hey if you legitimately think the Wings defense is better, than that's fine. I just think the Ducks' defense is better on paper, and have a more multi-dimensional mix of size and skill, while the Wings are all skill on defense. Stuart is physical, but I've still never thought of him as a big strong defenseman. I just don't like it when people suggest that the Wings defense is by far superior just because we have Lidstrom, or because our goals-against is lower. Let's not forget how often Lilja and Lebda have been known to give away the puck. I don't think anyone on Anaheim's defense is that accident prone, so you've got to look at the defense as a whole. Also, I don't think you gave Bergeron enough credit, because he's got a cannon on the point, which we don't have outside our top 2 guys.

Damn you Gary Bettman. How many of our players are you going to cause to get injured before you're satisfied?

The best defense ever were the Canadiens in the late 70's, since those guys were all in their prime at that time. As far as currently, I'd say the Ducks have the best defense in the league, and anyone who argues that is a homer. Also, I wouldn't say Rafalski currently is better than Bourque, when he was in Colorado. Bourque was still a great defenseman even then. Overall, I'd say our current defense is better than theirs was in 2001, but not by much.

Yeah, that would be something. We'd have at least 4 more Stanley Cups, so that shows you how insignificant it is.

You're absolutely right Opie, as usual. It still remains to be seen, though, how this team will stack up in the playoffs. I could care less if they finish 1st or 8th, as long as they make it. Home ice advantage is overrated anyway.

The Selke is all about reputation, and Datsyuk has a reputation for being a great puckhandler and passer before anything else. If he keeps this up year after year, eventually he'll win the Selke, but I don't see it happening this year. Fedorov winning it was an anomaly, because he was mainly known for his offensive prowess rather than defensive play, but usually it isn't a guy who's known for being one of the league's top offensive players, which is what Pavel is.
