What a huge surprise? Who could have seen this one coming? Seriously, that's what he deserves for putting everyone on about his retirement only to come back days later. He and all these other guys who supposedly can't decide about retirement are full of crap. Have fun playing in the Swedish league next year Peter.

The reason my top 10 fighters of all time mostly come from that era is because that was the toughest era of fighting, and I doubt any enforcer now could hack it in that league. The game has changed a lot with this stupid instigator rule and the constant veil that's around hockey fights, to the point where the violence is sustained.

It should be Florida vs. Nashville. Bettman could be in the booth telling us constantly during the play by play that the league is doing great, and that the Southern markets are striving, and that the whole country is probably watching this game.

Well, he already has some man crush from Babcock which Mac will unlikely be able to get. I don't know why Kopecky and Sammy are in the lineup other than the fact that there's no one else to call up from the minor leagues who can do any better. Unfortunately, this isn't the Wings from 4 years ago that had a loaded team. Mac will most likely replace Downey.

He needs to play like this on a more consistent level, because if this keeps up, then we might have a real 2nd line that can score consistently with Flip and Cleary as the other 2 guys. I personally don't think that he's only playing well because he's on the top line, because he looked great in the St. Louis game also. We've seen this before from him, but not on any consistent level, so time will tell.

Sadly, that's the only thing most Americans know about hockey is that game. Unfortunately, most of them didn't even know there was a game being played until it was over. I don't know if the title of this thread is a joke, but there's at least one person in the world who thinks it's true, and that happens to be Gary Bettman.

I love Malts, because he's one of those guys that you love only if he plays on your team. The only knock on him is that other agitators will at least fight from time to time, which we know he'll never do. Guys who run their mouth but don't back it up are called basketball players. But like I said originally, you got to love him when he plays for your team.

Our goalies would die if they ever had to face 53 shots in a game. Thank God we don't ever get peppered like that.

He proved that he's a more conventional goalie than Hasek. Lilja does everything. He fights, he hits, he scores GWG, he blocks shots, he makes saves, he gets chicks. I don't understand what more you can ask from a 5th or 6th defenseman? Yeah right. Lilja would destroy Krupp in a fight. How can you ever compare the two?

I remember watching a game against the Sharks this year when I could enlarge the screen, but I guess they changed that option for some reason, probably due to the slow streaming.

Does anyone know if there's any way to enlarge the screen for those watching the game on yahoo?

I'm guessing that you're either not a very smart person, or that you have nothing else to do in your life. Whichever one it is doesn't honestly matter to me, but just know that there's a lot of people here who are going to talk s*** about your team, so get used to it. If you're going to come to a Wings forum and then start attacking posters who hate your stupid team, then what do you expect? Yeah Wings fans hate the divealanche, is that a suprise for you to find out? What if I came to a divealanche forum and then started attacking posters who happen to hate the Wings. Do I want certain players on your team to get seriously hurt? You're damn right I do, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Just like when divealanche fans cheered for Lidstrom getting hurt, my feeling towards them are mutual, and I'm not going to change for you or for anyone.

I can think of a few players that he could replace, especially if we play a big, physical team, which just about every top team in the West is.

Fair enough, I guess you don't feel as strongly and ultra-violently about it as I do. Then again, it's not like I have some divine power to make something like that happen to him anyway, so I can't understand why you guys care about how I feel towards the whole situation.

Well, it's the closest that any Wings player has come to having a KO lately, if you stretch the imagination somewhat.

His post-game quote means nothing, since I bet you Lemieux said the same thing when he hit Draper. I just don't see why the next time we play them anyone on the Wings should act like it never happened. If we hit Sakic like that, divealanche fans would be screaming for the player who did it to be retaliated against at no less a cost than what I'm asking for. There's nothing wrong with seeking revenge in hockey. This isn't basketball. I don't know why everyone is convincing me to like Lapperierre or to act like it's all in the past. He ran our captain, and hockey players and fans have long memories.

I wish Columbus would realize that they're nowhere near competing with the Wings in the Central division. I think it's cute how they're trying to get leverage like they're a big deal or something, but in reality their team is a long way away from being a threat.

I'm still waiting for a Boulerice/Downey rematch. Too bad we don't play them this year.
