Exactly which of those two is known for their looks? Maybe if you add Lilja to the mold, then we're talking.
-
Right! No one can score like the Wings can right now. What are you on? You don't consider Getzlaf, Perry, or Kunitz to be offensive threats? They're way more stacked offensively than the Wings right now.
-
How do we know that? Surely not from experience. There's no reason to think that any of those players are consistent 2nd liners either in the regular season or in the playoffs. You sound like Holland's PR representative making such remarks
-
If this team doesn't improve their secondary scoring, there's no hope of a successful playoffs. I can see them getting out of the 1st round with this team. If they get out of the 2nd round I'm an idiot. If they get out of the 3rd round or win the Cup, then they fixed the refs. Thus, I'm predicting a 2nd round exit if there's no significant deadline acquisitions.
-
I wouldn't put Dallas ahead of us just yet. They have to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs before they get any fear from me. Their stars (no pun intended) have a way of disappearing in big games.
-
You'd think that after Uwe Krupp and Cory Cross Holland would learn that size doesn't necessarily mean physicality. I guess Gill is more physical than any of our defenseman, so it wouldn't be a bad move, but it doesn't make us the top Cup contender by any stretch.
-
You forgot to mention the "Human Tragedy" known as Cory Cross. I just want people to admit that Holland isn't as good a GM with the salary cap than without it. He's still one of the top GM's in the league, but the whole "Genius" status that he's given here by some members just because of past success is ridiculous.
-
Can you say Robert Lang. Be careful using words like that around here. People here still think that Fedorov is a big name because that's what he was 10 years ago.
-
Give me a break. When was the last time he played well in the playoffs? He's washed up, which is why Chicago is willing to trade him for anything.
-
The two trading deadlines since the lockout have been failures for Holland, since none of those guys is still here, and we didn't win the Cup, which is what a team ultimately attempts to solidify with deadline deals when they're atop the standings. I think it's more than fair to criticize Holland for his recent work, instead of praising him for the Cups we won 10 years ago.
-
We'd never be able to pay him that much money so he was never really an option.
-
Remember that 80's song. "You don't know what you got till it's gone".
-
I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet that at one point in his career he led the league in scoring late into the season, meaning that we should get him.
-
Yeah, considering he plays once every fortnight, which if you don't know, means every two weeks. He's always hurt. As for Stuart, he'd be a solid acquisition, and would become a great replacement for Lebda who's playing like dogs***.
-
I'd actually trade Hudler for him in a heartbeat. At least we know Lang is a proven playoff scorer, while we don't know that yet about Hudler. Besides, I'm still afraid we might play Chicago in the first round of the playoffs where he'll score 4 game winning goals against us.

Well, Babcock had to think of some slogan to excuse this team's pussiness, and Sammy apparently fits that slogan perfectly, whatever the hell it may mean.
-
But he doesn't have Sammy's stunning good looks and his unshakable confidence in his shot. And most importantly, Fedotenko lacks "team tougness".
-
DMac didn't fake retirement or claim that he wasn't coming back this year. Nice try Flames fan.
-
What does Sammy's facebook say? I'll shoot till I drop?
-
Great! Now I have to look at that stupid hyena's face again 6 times every year.
-
Give Kypreos a break. He hasn't been right in the head ever since this happened to him: Link
-
Sign ker Kenny. She might be that legit 2nd line threat we've been looking for.
-
I'll eat it gladly with tabasco sauce if I have to, but you're wrong, unless there's some other big deadline deal that we're all omitting to discuss with Sundin and Hossa out of the picture.

THN's Costello: Laperriere's hit on Lidstrom not dirty
GMRwings1983 replied to Yzermania19's topic in General
But if you question Lappy's elbows being that high, then you're admitting that the hit was suspect. I think it was dirty and that he knew what he was doing. Whether he intended to injure Lidstrom or not isn't the question. If a player intends to elbow a guy in the head but doesn't intend to hurt him, then he's an idiot. What did Lappy expect by getting his elbows up like that? I just hope his payback isn't over the next time we face him. If Lidstrom missed time due to injury, then so should Slappy. -
If it's for Hudler or Lebda I wouldn't mind.
