I've been disappointed with the whole goaltending crew as of lately. Eariler this season the goalies got all the credit, even though the team was scoring 4 goals every game and giving up less than 15 shots a night. The last few games when we've needed the goalies to finally steal a few games, they've come up short. Yeah, I know we've had injuries and bad bounces, but it'd be nice to have our goalies steal some games while the team is in this slump, instead they've been outplayed by the other team's goalie every night, except for the divealanche game. As for Howard, the best thing is that he's getting experience during a tumultous situation, which is the best way to give a goalie experience. He wasn't great last night, though.

It's fair to say that the experiment of giving nobody's a chance as 2nd liners has been a disaster this season. Thanks to our top line, good goaltending, and solid defense, this team has still been able to succeed, but all the faith people put in those 2nd line chumps has proven to be blind faith. I think some people here predicted Hudler to be a 40 goal scorer at some point in his career, or Franzen to score 30 this year. Plain idiotic if you ask me.

I'm glad he got hurt in Columbus and not here if we had traded for him. That's my biggest problem with going after him is his health. We might as well go after Eric Lindros while we're at it.

No way! He skates well, but he can't score, and has no grit whatsoever to forecheck. In fact, he's about as physical as a fluffy pillow. He would do a good job of carrying the puck into the zone, but after that he wouldn't know what the hell to do, as you see frequently with him now.

Teams are judged based on wins and losses, not the reasons for those wins and losses. Your post put an ultra-positive spin on things, which I guess is the exact opposite of my post. You should write columns for the Leafs, you would make every loss sound great this way. They'd forget about all their problems. The bottom line is that the Wings deserved to lose all those games (except for the Ducks game). Those games we lost 1-0, yeah we lost on a fluke goal, but the bottom line is that the Wings scored 0 goals in those games. That means the offense was sucking in those games. Whatever it is, as I stated earlier, it started way before the injuries began.

I'm tired of using injuries as an excuse for why this team sucks. The truth is they started this losing skid about 3 weeks ago, when the 2nd line stopped playing, the defensemen started turning the puck over(before they got hurt), and the goalies stopped making saves in key moments. There's clearly something seriously wrong with this team, and it isn't just injuries. Hopefully a deadline acquisition will at least wake up the dead on this team right now.

Lilja is now the best defenseman on the team. I can't wait to see him and Sammy running the point on the PP.

Maybe, but sorry doesn't pay the bill. I don't think he deserved to get paralyzed, but a pure sucker punch like the one Tie layed on Ulf would have been fine in my book considering his running of Naslund. Bertuzzi just went the extra mile which was too far.

But guys like Ulf Samuelsson or Chrissy Pronger will never fight with anyone like Domi, so he that's the best way to retaliate against them. I don't think enforcers should cheapshot each other because they can always challenge each other for a fair fight. However, what I hate is when certain players who aren't enforcers try to act tougher than they are, and when those guys take liberties, they need to be put in their place. Case not closed. Lidstrom is out 2 weeks while Slappy is still playing for the divealanche. The next time we play them we should have a few enforcers ready just to jump him and beat his ass. I don't think he or their organization got the message, since he tried some more s*** later on in the game, and then that idiot Granato was yelling at Babcock also. This better not be over.

No, they just want guys like Lemieux to get what's coming to them. Pronger is a spotpicker, so since he'll never fight a true heavyweight, that's the only way to send him a message. I have no problem with what Domi did. Now Domi did go overboard when he elbowed Niedermayer in the playoffs in 2001, but doing it to guys like Ulf, or Tootoo, Phaneuf, Ruutu, that's different. I have no problem with that.

I wonder how many games Domi would get suspended for in today's "***** NHL" if he pulled something like that?

What Phaneuf did last night doesn't belong in hockey either. It's one thing to finish a check, but it's another thing to hit a guy's head into the boards when you see that he's down. And by the way, Ulf deserved what he got.

I don't think any of our skilled players have done anything to deserve what Ulf Samuelsson got. Pronger's had it coming for a long time, and Phaneuf is on his way.

This just in! The Canadian media hates the Red Wings! Come on guys, this is old news, so don't take them too seriously. They're biased, they're idiots, and they're jealous of the Wings' success over the last 15 years.

With Lebda's speed you can't help wish that he could develop an offensive scoring touch, because right now he has none. He's never going to be physical or defensive minded, so I think he should concentrate solely on improving his shot and his overall offensive skills.

Brian Burke will probably claim McCarty off waivers just to piss us off.

How could I forget the divealanche. I'm going to be kicking myself from now on for that error. The Red Sox/White Sox one was tricky because of the pronounciation, though.
