I don't think Ovechkin needs a set up man. He's great at creating his own scoring chances and going to the net, which is always a great way to score goals. It's not like he's Brett Hull and he just stands there waiting to get a perfect pass.

I think people are just afraid of seeing another playoff disappointment. When you finish 1st every year and fail to make the finals, that means that a certain piece is missing to the team, whatever it may be. The blind homers on LGW act like the Wings won the Cup last year or the year before, but in reality, it's been a while since this team got over the hump of making it through the West, even though they've had a great team every year since the Cup run. People just want to see the weaknesses on this team improved, and there's nothing wrong with that. And telling fans to go root for another team is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If I think that Anaheim is tougher than us, then that doesn't mean that I should go become a Ducks fan, it just means that I'm concerned about us matching up to them.

If not for that douchebag Roenick, Carcillo could have reached 400 PIM's this year, and would certainly have hit 300, which no one has done for a while.

If he can't still score, which I don't think he can, I don't care if he's a mentor or not. We need a good legitimate scoring threat right now. We're not in a rebuilding phase to teach the young guys how to step it up in the future. The truth is that if this team won't win the Cup this year, the season was a disappointment. You're right. That was our 2nd line in the '02 playoffs, so Datsyuk did have a lot of responsibility even from the start.
