I hope that he's taking all these skating practices in a padded room somewhere, because I'm worried that he'll get hurt in practice somehow. He's like one of those people who have been struck by lightning on several occasions. s*** out of luck.

Where did this Kubina obsession come from all of a sudden? He's just a smaller, slightly better version of Uwe Krupp. Besides, what makes anyone think Toronto wants to move him, and just how much are you willing to give up for him? -
How dare you guys start a Lilja thread without me. This guy scores GWG for us, he hits, he fights for his teammates, he blocks shots. What the hell else do you want him to do? Are Lebda or Meech really that much more useful than he is? When Downey is scratched in the playoffs, Lilja will be our only true enforcer out there, so you better learn to like him, because we'll need him when the tougness comes.

It'll definitely be Downey because there's no way in hell the Wings will have 2 enforcers playing one the 4th line together.

Because as you said, they're eye candy, and have an unusual job that other athletes don't have. Also, it's hard to hate guys that play only 5 minutes a game, whereas some superstars will always have people that hate them, because they'll play well against that person's team each time they meet.

Some superstars are easier to hate then goons who hardly ever play. I don't see the comparisons with other areas of pop culture that you just made. There's plenty of hockey fans who love enforcers, mostly because enforcers are a dying breed.

I think we should give Mark Mowers another shot. He was just misunderstood when he played here, and in reality he possesses great talent. Besides, he's Canadian so that means he works hard.

If I could only choose one, of course I'd pick the scoring 2nd liner over a physical 5th or 6th defenseman. We're already somewhat loaded on defense. We're not really loaded at forward, since other than our 1st line, all the other scorers are too streaky to rely on. -

We can't trade Lilja no matter what. Since Downey probably won't play in the playoffs, we need a legit enforcer in there that can also give us good minutes, so Lilja staying on the team is an absolute must. -

Mac couldn't beat anybody his last year in Calgary, so Downey is a better fighter, even though all his fights are draws.

I have to agree with you there. Just because he gets overemotional as a coach, doesn't mean he should be hated here on par with Pronger or Iginla. It really is puzzling.

Do you work for CBC Alberta or something? Iginla has more than enough time in most of his fights to take the visor off but doesn't. He did it that time because he was afraid of looking like an obvious puss with Jovo taking his off.

You realize that none of these players will likely wind up where you're putting them? Has Forsberg already signed with the Ducks or something? And I thought that Blake was hurt?

Malik sounds like the 3rd best European fighting defenseman now behind Lilja and Chara. Too bad there's no video of this.
