How can you hate Sammy? He's become one of our 2 mascots here on LGW.
-
Well there's only one thing to do now. Bring back Cory Cross.
-
Downie must have pushed your right buttons this year to put him ahead of Pronger. This is only his 1st year.
-
How about we bring back Shanny, Feds, Lapointe, Eriksson, Kozlov, and McCarty. In return we'll trade Flip, Hudler, Sammy, Franzen, or anyone else that wasn't here 10 years ago. Then we can have a reunion of former Wings cups teams.

Lydman is softer than a cream puff. Why the hell would we want him?
-
Why the hell would he want to go to that rathole?

A best enforcer award would be great. Because of his win/loss record, I'd give it to Lija this year. Would Crosby have to sing at the award ceremony?
-
You forgot your boy May. Also how about seeing the 2 spotpickers fight, Hatcher vs. Pronger. Seriously, though, Philly lacks a real enforcer, and as much as their fans hated him, they should never have let Brashear go.

I predict that a future trade will be the one that takes the cake. (Samuelsson for Hossa). Loser, Atlanta, as the Wings win the next 3 consecutive Stanley Cups, while Atlanta leads the league in shots each year, but misses the playoffs every time. Oh yeah, the serious answer to this question is Naslund for Stojanov. Trading a below average enforcer for a guy who would eventually become a superstar and the face of a franchise. Nothing else quite matches it.

f*** the Kings. Do they think this is 1998 or something? Blake is worth s*** at this point in his career.
-
That slapshot is the only reason Kilger has been passed around like a ***** in his career, but it isn't enough to make him stick anywhere, because he's practically useless. Just think of Matt Ellis with a good slapshot. He'd still be a bum, which is pretty much what Kilger is.

Hey, if Brian Burke can pull some shady tactics to try to win the Cup, the Wings will just have to outdo him. Besides, I don't give a s*** about Floppa, so I don't object to him being treated that way.
-
Yeah, that's what we need. 3 big guys who aren't physical at all for their size. The Leafs can keep their crap as far as I'm concerned.
-
Now that I think about it, wouldn't it be possible for the Wings to sign Floppa and then trade him immediately for Hossa or Sundin? I don't think there's anything in the rules against that.
-
Looks like Antropov is finally showing that physical aggression that Leafs fans have been waiting for all these years from a 6'6 guy. Too bad it's directed at the refs, though.
-
If the Wings switch conferences, I don't have to stay up till 2 in the morning during finals week to watch playoff games. That sounds good to me.
-
The risk of going after Forsberg is that we might pass up on someone like Sundin or Hossa, and then Forsberg will get hurt for us, meaning that we lost out on some good players taking him instead.
-
Are you crazy? Washington would never take that deal. Throw in Sammy and a 3rd rounder, and it's done. That way they get 2 capable forwards in exchange for 1, and at a much cheaper price too.
-
It's been 12 years since anyone hit 60 goals, so I hope he does it this year.
-
Especially the ones from Sweden.

Should the NHL have first round byes in the playoffs?

It's O.K. I like this one better anyway. -
Here's for another 15 years. (sarcastic ) Go Gary! Keep up the good work.

Peter Forsberg , Mats Sundin and Olli Jokinen On a Move?
GMRwings1983 replied to Kingston's topic in General
If I was Calgary, I'd trade Tangay and any prospect for Jokinen in a heartbeat. How's that a high asking price as the article suggested? -

How about every year the Wings win the West, they get an automatic bye into the finals? That sounds fair right? The team should be rewarded for their constant regular season success. -

All this would accomplish is to help the Wings from getting embarassed in the 1st round of the playoffs every other year. Also, no one would want to take potentially 2 weeks off. That would be a disadvantage for any team that goes through it, instead of an advantage to strive for. Thus, winning in the regular season would become counterproductive, contrary to what you suggest in your post.
