The worst thing about Kopecky is that he hasn't dropped the gloves since he destroyed Sharp. I jumped out of my chair when that fight happened thinking that we'd see a new, tougher version of Kopecky from then on. Instead, nothing of the sort has happened. His play has gotten a little better, but he's still an expendable 4th liner.

Koci has held his own against some top heavyweights, which is more than Downey could do. As for his playing abilities, they are poor, but I'm not looking for skills from an enforcer. Not every enforcer can be as skilled as Lilja.

I would love for us to have Koci. He's young, willing, and is a great scrapper. His problem is that he isn't the most defensive fighter, so longevity might be a question due to injuries, but he's a way better fighter than Downey. As for the Chara fight, Koci was fighting with a broken nose before the fight even began, which is why Chara drew blood. It's also amazing how some of you who are now in love with Downey didn't want him to do anything with this team before the season began. You guys are such flip-floppers.

Good news. I guess the "Trade Hank" debates will have to stop for a while, that is until the next time he misses a game.

For a guy who's as physical as a crispy-cream donut, Kopecky sure talks like he's a bad ass of some kind.

I know the homers here will disagree with me, but the Ducks forwards and defense is better than ours. We have 2 capable goalies instead of 1, but Giguere has shown that he's a great clutch goalie when he needs to be. Obviously you can't win a series on paper, but looking at it on paper is all we can do at this point, and they're simply more talented than us. Of course as Wings fans have learned in the past, talent isn't everything, but time will tell.

If Emery played somewhere outside of Canada, he could show up an hour late before every practice and the media pressure on him wouldn't be half as high. He's either a rebel or an idiot behaving this way while playing in a hockey market with obsessed journalists.

I hope he stays healthy the rest of the year to dispel all this injury prone talk, but if this continues, he might turn into Forsberg as far as health is concerned. If that ever happens, I'd consider the possibility of trading him if I was Holland.
