Well, they needed some excuse for their pathetic season.

Yeah, but Lilja's a great defensive fighter, unlike Franzen who just had no clue what to do to protect himself. I've never seen Lilja get beat down like that. Once again, the Gauthier fight from last year doesn't count, since that was before he became the "PAIN TRAIN".

Amen to that. I miss the days where 15 guys every year would ht 300 PIM's and over 30 fighting majors. Now no one does it once.

Getting rid of the instigator rule is number 1 for me. As far as unrealistic wishes, it would be that goalies would become a lot worse, and not play the butterfly style anymore.

It's not common knowledge, but he did kill a woman with his car while driving drunk, which is why he served the jail sentence. One year is too light a punishment if you ask me though.

And they always assume that Phoenix would be stupid enough to trade him for Sammy of all people. In fact, Sammy has been traded here on LGW in about 10 million different acquisitions.

True, but we should still have more than 3 cups. The last 3 seasons this team had the most points in the league each year, and made the finals zero times. This year, the cup is a must with the way this team is rolling. -
Based on your reasoning, we should have won the cup every year since 02, because we had the best team in the league each year going into the playoffs. Also, don't forget that some other top team could sign a big player, which might give the Wings incentive to sign one of their own.

Did anyone catch the hugfest between Brashear and Laraque last night? I think their fight earlier this year was some kind of out of body experience for both of them. Easily the 2 most boring fighters ever, though I'd still love to have either on my team.

Why the sudden love affair with Ryder? This guy's confidence level right now reminds me of Woody Allen. I know players play better once we sign them, but I'd rather have a guy who's playing well right now, then make a deal for some 4th line bench jockey who might or might not break out of his funk. Ryder has sunk this year faster than the Titanic.

There's one thing you have to remember with divealanche announcers and fans. They're total ******* idiots. They know nothing about hockey except the "red wings suck" chants. I'd rather go to a leper colony than ever sit in that bulding to watch a hockey game. As for Roy, I thought he beat Osgood, but Vernon busted him up, so I can't see how anyone thinks Roy won that fight. Then again, as I mentioned earlier, it's divealanche fans, so anything is possible.

I'm surprised Barry has Lidstrom in his top 10 since he's not Canadian. Also, what the hell is Niedermayer doing there? He only won 1 Norris trophy. I wouldn't have even put him in my top 10. I'd put Bourque 4th and Potvin 5th, while keeping the top 3 in the same order.

Yeah, I was disappointed too. I wouldn't be surprised if Babcock put the leash on him up 5-0, especially if he was afraid of some brawl breaking out. Also, since Franzen is a non-fighter, I would love to have seen Downey go after some puss on their team, like maybe Tkachuk or Ryan Johnson who's always running our goalies.

Damn, he jinxed us again. I just hope he doesn't pick us to win the Cup before the playoffs begin, or else there's no point in us even watching the playoffs. We'll obviously lose.

I told you guys earlier in the season that Lilja had to drop the gloves to pick up his play again. Last year he finally started playing well right after he destroyed Moen. When he goes for long stretches without fighting, it worsens his play.

How is Samuelsson good defensively? Other than Hudler, and Homer he might be the worst defensive forward we have. As for Hunter, he's been on and off ever since his career began. I'd love to have him when he's good, but you never know with him.

Khabibulin staying healthy has been their key to success this year. The backup is Lalime, I believe, and we all know what he can do when he starts, which is nothing.

Murray has got some ******* nerve. The Blues calling someone else dirty is like the pot calling the kettle black. f*** the blues, their organization, and their airhead fans. If they don't like the hit, tough luck. Now they know how we felt whenever Ryan Johnson runs our goalies, or when Drake ran our players from behind. And Jackman is a spotpicker that deserves to be injured, so I'm going to get more sleep now knowing that this happened to him.
