I've actually been waiting for Drake to run someone like Tootoo from behind and get suspended, much like he always tried to do with our players when in St. Louis.

CHI Trades Jim Vandermeer To PHI For Ben Eager
GMRwings1983 replied to WhiteLightning91's topic in General
They're probably planning on some deal to steal one of our former defenseman. -
The league obviously doesn't take this as seriously as a stick-swinging incident, or else this suspension would have been much higher than his last one, just because the deterrence factor didn't seem to work last time.
-
Knowing Bettman, he'd probably give us speeches about how Mexico City is a great hockey market, and that the fans there are more intelligent than we think.
-
Hah! I always had the feeling that Lilja was the real brains behind this team.
-
Sammy, Drake, and Kopecky have done nothing this year (aside from the fights), but the more I think about it, the more obvious it is that the whole league is filled with 3rd and 4th liners that don't score whatsoever. That goes along with the balance of the post-salary cap NHL, since teams aren't as loaded with stars as they used to be. Yes, we're leading the league in scoring, and Hank and Pavel are putting up huge numbers, but I wouldn't mind seeing some of Hank and Pavel's numbers go down at the expense of other guys on the team increasing their point totals for more balance.

Could a morbidly obese goalie shut out an NHL team?
GMRwings1983 replied to edicius's topic in General
Who need a morbidly obese goalie when you can just borrow J.S. Giguere's goalie equipment, and suddenly become a clutch playoff goalie. -
I don't think Datsyuk will hit 100 points, but Z will if he can stay healthy (knock on wood). As for leading the league in scoring or goals, I don't see either of those happening. There's too many pure goal scorers out there that I think will finish with more goals than him.

If we win the Stanley Cup, then maybe Nick could pull a Scott Niedermayer for next season.
-
I can't believe that Kolzig fell for the same move 3 times in the shootout. Anyway, we were lucky to win tonight. Our effort wasn't all that great in the defensive zone. Although he gave up 3 goals, Hasek made some huge saves when he needed to.

"PAIN TRAIN" v. brashear
-
Yeah, I'd hate to see this clown stomping on Tootoo's or Pronger's head.
-
Why shouldn't he be mad? He just gave up a penalty shot goal to Krys Kolanos. Still, my favorite Roy moments will always be when Vernon busted him open, and when he gave up 6 goals in that game 7 of the 2002 WCF.
-
Where did this post come from? Why would he win the Norris? He's missed a third of the season, and by the way, he's not as good as Lidstrom anyway.
-
You're forgetting that he doesn't get that much work compared to other goalies around the league. I just don't see a guy winning the Vezina, who faces less shots than anyone else and plays for a team that scores more goals than anyone else. That goes into voters' mindsets as does the fact that he's constantly alternating starts with Hasek. There's other goalies out there that carry their teams night in and night out. If I were voting now, I'd give it to Lundqvist.
-
I don't know what the deal is with Simon? SInce he hardly ever fights anymore, all he ever does now is take these stupid penalties and cheap shots. Yeah, everyone knows that Jarkko Ruutu is a piece of garbage, but SImon has to restrain himself better. I don't think he should be suspended for the rest of the season like some of you suggest, though. I'd say 10 games is enough.
-
I don't see him winning the Vezina playing for a team that leads the league in goals. The Vezina will probably go to Lundqvist or maybe Dipietro if either of their teams make the playoffs, since both teams are in the bottom of the league in goals scored. Ozzy's been great, but he's not exactly carrying this team like Lundqvist is in New York.
-
Wow, that's surprising! Finally these idiots got themselves a decent team, and now no one is going to the games anymore. I guess it might have something to do with the economy, but that's still disappointing for their franchise.
-
Lilja didn't turtle, he slipped. Besides, that was before he became the "PAIN TRAIN". Lilja's yet to lose a fight this season the last time I checked.
-
Too bad we don't play the Flyers this year to atone for last year's mess. Now that we have Lilja, Kopecky, Drake, and Downey, they wouldn't dare tangle with us.
-
I don't think that our problems in recent years of advancing in the playoffs have anything to do with playing in a weak divison. We still have to play every team in the West 4 times, so it's not like we're only playing against the Central. Yeah, it might increase our point totals, but that still has nothing to do with how often we play against other quality teams. I'd personally rather play an 8 seed over any other seed in the 1st round. So to sum things up, no I'm not happy that the Blues got stronger. What next, you guys will be rooting for the Blackhawks to trade Jason Williams for Joe Thornton?

This Flyers team isn't even in the same league as those Flyers teams of the past. I think that the team they had in the early 80's was the toughest in league history. Also, they don't really have a top enforcer on their roster, as was witnessed by Gary Roberts destroying Ben Eager. As for their cheap hits, I do think that they've taken it too far, but as I've posted before, I secretly wish that we had a bit of that on our roster. Anytime you can intimidate other teams or make them change their game, that's a good thing. The rest of the league has a right to complain, so maybe they should give the Flyers a taste of their own medicine.
-
I don't see how their shootout record is going to help the Oilers come playoff time? Oh wait, they're not even going to make the playoffs, so it doesn't really matter.
-
Really? I'm not all that enthusiastic about the fact that our division just got stronger. McDonald and Boyes give the Blues a pretty good one-two punch at center.

Who was the guy that wore the leopard mask back in the old days, because he believed it would ward off evil spirits? I always forget his name, but that was my favorite mask ever.
