Odds of detroit making a blockbuster?

Paying either Nagy or Stuart that kind of money would be idiotic. I think they should be worth half that amount. Camalleri would be a good bargain, but I'd like to see us go after a bigger forward to change things up. The big forwards we have now are giving us nothing.

    Downey vs. Fedoruk

Well, there's always the Lilja jersey that you can get. That's the beauty of having more than 1 enforcer on the team.

St.Paul chosen as new Hockeytown USA

Well, you can't blame anyone for naming a new Hockeytown. The Wings are no longer the most popular team in Detroit, and the JLA always looks empty when you watch the games on TV. Not to mention, it's usually quieter than a golf course. Hardcore Wings fans still love the team, but with guys like Yzerman, Fedorov, Shanny, etc, leaving in recent memory, the club has lost a lot of its popularity amongst casual fans, even though it's still winning.

    Downey vs. Fedoruk

I don't have anything against mutual respect, but I kind of miss some of the dirty goons in the old days like Dave Brown, Behn Wilson, John Wensink, etc. You'd never see guys like that patting people on the back after a fight, or pulling any punches when the other guy is down.

    Hasek Challenges, Gaborik goes Airborn

I wish he tackled Selanne like that after Lilja turned the puck over to him, but I guess that was a different scenario. Anyway, it was a heads up play on his part, and a great flip by Gaborik. I gotta give him a 10 for that perfect landing.

vincent lecavalier to be traded ?

I know that Tampa needs a goalie, but trading away one of the top 10 forwards in the league is just crazy, especially since him and Lecavalier are such a great one-two punch. Besides, their defense is horrible, so adding Turco isn't going to help that. For Dallas, on the other hand this would be a great trade. St. Louis would immediately become their best forward, and they have a good young goalie that you know is going to replace Turco eventually anyways.

    12/7 GDT: Red Wings 5, Wild 0

I've never seen a player flip like that before. Gaborik could have broken his neck. That's definitely Hasek's highlight of the season, but what do you expect? I can't remember the last time a goalie had such an easy game, so I guess he got bored and felt like doing something.

    Langenbrunner new NJ captain

Elias' numbers have been pitiful this season, so maybe they wanted to take any pressure away from him.

    12/7 GDT: Red Wings 5, Wild 0

I just found out that Boogaard isn't playing. I knew that after Lilja destroyed a few people everyone would be afraid to fight him, and it looks like Boogaard is the first to duck him. Well, maybe Fedoruk will have the guts to go with the "PAIN TRAIN", but I seriously doubt it.
  10. We need to trade for Lang for his clutch playoff goals. After the season is over, we can let him resign elsewhere, and then do the same thing next year. Also, this way we don't have to worry anymore about playing the Blackhawks in the playoffs.

    Schneider on the move?

That's what he deserves for signing with them even though he knew that Niedermayer might come back, thus creating a situation just like this.

Odds of detroit making a blockbuster?

Oh sure. I'm positive the Islanders would be overjoyed with such a deal. Not. I know this is the same organization that traded Olli Jokinen away for crap, but do you really think they'd want Sammy for a top 6 forward, and a young guy who's shown that he can score 20 goals? I don't.

Odds of detroit making a blockbuster?

What's the point of getting any of those guys now that Lilja is destroying people again. He could lick any of those cream puffs.

Odds of detroit making a blockbuster?

I don't know what the definition of a blockbuster is, but if it's a legitimate top 6 forward, then I'm all for it.

    Niklas Kronwall

Hey, we're on pace for 30 fighting majors as a team. Unbeilivable. That's probably more than the last 3 seasons put together.
  16. GMRwings1983

    Niklas Kronwall

Amazing how a guy can put up points in several consecutive games, and all of a sudden he's given unrealistic predictions by Wings fans. I think you have to be in the top 10 in scoring now as a defenseman to put up 50 points.

    Best players ever?

Not in my top 25 all time. All the top forwards I can think of would be centers or right wingers, with Hull being the excepiton.

    OFFICIAL: Niedermayer returns to Ducks

I saw this coming, but now that it happened, I'm pissed. f*** Niederamyer and their whole Mickey Mouse organization (pun intended). I hope that s***bag gets injured in his first game of the season. Yeah, I know they're going to be over the cap for next year, but I don't care about that, I only think in the present. That's a cheap ass way to beat the salary cap, and I know they had it planned that way from the very beginning.

    Best players ever?

Does anyone know why there's such a a disparity between Left Wing and Right Wing in NHL history? Other than Bobby Hull, there's no other Left Winger that I'd put in my top 25.

    Best players ever?

Those players still don't compare to the guys that Sawchuk and Plante played with. As far as Brodeur, he never had to carry his team the way Roy did in Montreal, and that's the point that I was making. Also, I'm not one of those people who believes that Osgood should be in the Hall of Fame.
  21. GMRwings1983

    Niklas Kronwall

I'm a little worried about Kronwall playing with Rafalski, because both of those guys have a propensity for turnovers, and jumping up in the play when they shouldn't. But, time will tell how the defensive pairings will work out.
  22. GMRwings1983

    Best players ever?

Roy won 2 Stanley Cups all by himself in Montreal. No other goalie has ever been able to do that. Look at the players that Sawchuk and Plante played with. Who did Roy play with on those Montreal teams? Also, Brodeur only faced about 15 shots a game playing with that Devils defensive trap. The bottom line is that Roy won 3 Conn Smythes in 3 different decades. I'd put him ahead of anyone else, even though I hate the f*****'s guts.

    Datsyuk scoring goals

Yeah, it's definitely time to split Pavel and Hank up, now that Pavel is looking to shoot more. I like the line combos from last night, only I'd put Hudler on the 2nd line instead of Franzen.
  24. GMRwings1983

Anybody have Datsyuk VS interview from last night?

For real. I figured his English was a little better than that since he's been in the states for about 5 years now. Of course, it's harder for him to learn English since most of his teammates don't speak it that well either.

    12/4 GDT: Red Wings 4, Canadiens 1

What! You mean Samuelsson didn't impress you in his fight against Morrow last year.
