Yes but we have until after training camp to be completely under the cap and we could easily trade ritola, or milller. I'd much prefer if we did get rid of Miller for Modano.
-
god....Motor City FC, I'd love it if that was the name as well
-
yea I'd also like to see an MLS team...but I'm not sure how many other possible new owners there are that will keep the team in detroit
-
Yea all the wings were idols to me growing up...I still remember seeing scotty at the target by my house and I was way too afraid to go talk to him, I just stood there for a second like "no way".
-
I haven't seen ferarro play, but i have seen mursak and he is not a "gritty guy who can score" hes a high skilled, quick player with great hands. When I see him play in GR its hilarious, because he is around the same speed as helm but can pull of the dekes that helm tries to do at top speed; he also has great awareness and I remember a few games last year where he deftly passed the puck to a player and the player didn't even see it coming and completely whiffed on it. I'm really excited about those potential top-6 players...what are the chances they all play in GR for a year? Tatar-Nyqvist-Jarnkrok Mursak-Sheahan-Ferarro

s*** that sucks...I liked the whole get there at 5:45 and buy a 5 dolla ticket just in time for the dollar beers at 6. At least I'm not living out in Allendale this year and it won't be a problem going to van andel early
-
I'm going, its the first game I can take advantage of the dollar beers without my roommate getting them for me.

yea i asked Nill about him during the live chat with him on freep today and he said that he spoke with him at the combine and that he is a very nice kid and very very talented and said "it will be interesting to see where he falls to at the draft"
-
So today on the chat with Jim Nill I submitted a question. my comment: Mr. Nill, I would like to know your opinion on a couple of players. If you spoke with Kabanov at the combine how did he come off to you, do you feel he will slide as far as they are projecting? Also what do you think his skill level is because even if he has some character issues, I recall a member of the wings org saying "You can't teach talent, everything else can be worked on." his response: Yes, we have interviewed Kiril. He is a very skilled player and you are definitely correct in that you can't teach talent. It will be interesting to see where he falls in draft. He is on our radar screen. "It will be interesting to see where he falls in draft." I hope they see the talent he has and think they can change him so they send out smokescreens up to the draft and maybe trade up in the second rd to get him.

dont let the numbers trick you, after all maltby was a 50 goal scorer in his junior days...so helm has a little less offensive potential than him...as for why ferarro is hyped more with less numbers, it's because he has the speed and he has a great shot. Helm doesn't have his shot or else he'd have a lot more potential as a quick goal scorer in the NHL.

no matter how good he was when he wore the #7, he played longer here and will always be a wing in my heart....atta boy cheli!!!
-
looks like how vladdy would play
-
Yea I agree with Aussie about Mursak, every griffins game I went to last year I was blown away by him. I said to my friend after one too many dollar beers, "Check out Jan the man, #13, he's just as fast as helm but doesn't have bricks for hands and can dangle at those top speeds." I'm really excited to see him with the Wings, he deftly feeds the puck to teammates that they don't even see it coming and wiff on the open net (I've seen Rissmiller do this a lot).
-
we would have beat them
-
wings will get 120 pts next year and win the presidents trophy the division winners for the west will be: LA, Detroit, Vancouver I also agree with the other poster that TO will make the playoffs
-
I'd rather see mursak up on the big club for like 10 games this year...he could be really valuable if he can translate his game to the nhl which I believe he can because he has the wheels, hands, and shot
-
If we could get a good player in return sure.
-
Yea their order is messed up, I know for sure our pick and bostons second pick are wrong
-
Gonchar and Volchenkov are both FA's, how long is Frolov in LA until? I'm not too sure the salaries would work out considering some dumbass team is going to offer Gonchar or Volchenkov a s*** ton of money
-
Yea and Smith will be playing for GR next year, so we'll have to see how hard hes pressing to make the team...if he dominates the AHL he might be on the wings on 11-12

Newly Signed Brendan Smith Charged With Disorderly Conduct
irishtemper14+25 replied to RedFX's topic in General
You can get a DUI for riding a bicycle, maybe Brendan was just trying to save the environment and not use a cab. -
check out this article on kabanov http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/kabanov-trying-to-put-career-back-on-track/article1572354/ I really hope the wings take him at 21...his quotes from there sound like a kid who learned his lesson. he even says “I’ll never come back to Russia [to play hockey]. I’m trying to show I can play in the NHL. It doesn’t matter what the [draft] number is. If a team picks me, I’ll sign the contract right away.”
-
I read this either here or on hf, but the story is that when he came back from his injury he was demanding to be given top line/pp minutes and when the team told him no he said he would go back to Russia if they didn't and his teammates told him they'd pack his bags.

I second that
