I've been going to griffins games for about 3 years and now is the first time I've lived downtown so I can walk back from the games. Well there are a lot of restaurants/bars around van andel, I would recommend that you come on a Friday so you can get the dollar beers and dollar dogs at the game. Assuming you come down on Friday, I would say go to the BOB which is right next to Van Andel. It's a pretty busy place, they have like three different levels (ones a club, ones a restaurant, and something else). I would then go to the game (100 ft away) around 6 because thats when they let you in so you can get the dollar beers all the way until the game starts at 7. After the game I would recommend going to McFaddens pub which is right down the road from the arena, they have dollar beers as well (on fridays i think)

Haha that goal is so hilarious to me...I was at Buffalo Wild Wings with my friend and there was a whole table of drunk guys next to us. When there was less than a minute left I yelled "what the f*** is lang out there for, hes so horrible...did they just give up on the game or something" and this drunk guy instantly defended him with "no, langs good bro" and about a half minute later he scored and tied it up. That guy got in my face and was like "You Apologize Right NOW!" I apologized because I was so happy I didn't give a s***, what a great game

Yes these seats suck ass!!!! I was of the mind that no Joe Louis seat could be bad, but when my friend and I purchased tickets a couple years ago and they were obstructed. The seats were at the top of the Joe when the stairs leveled out and there were three rows of seats in front of us that blocked the view a lot. Also one of the scoreboards/shot tracker was partially blocking the view. All in all not worth making the trek down the joe and waiting a long ass line all day.
