10/12 GDT: Chicago Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

Aperently acording to Red Wngs Corner this would be the first game he is eligable to play in because of work visa issues.

    Boulerice gets 25 games

Fair and justified, the NHL got the suspension length right in this case.

10/10 GDT: Red Wings 4, Calgary Flames 2

1st. Let Downey play, and sit Ellis out. 2nd. I will be switching between the Islander - Ranger game and the Wings game. I just need to see a train wreck and the NY game should be one waiting to happen.

    Justin Abdelkader

I went to the Michigan State game tonight against Windsor University, Justin looked pretty good winning 15 of 19 faceoffs that he took and got an assist and did not shy away from physical play against a much bigger team. Michigan State won the game 6-0. However, the best player on the ice was freshman Corey Tropp who scored two goals and was very physical. His rights are owned by Buffalo, it would be great the Wings could find a way to get him.

    Lines for Tonight's Game

Me like sandwhich! I think that is stupid that the Wings arn't playing Downey, and it is even dumber that come late October he will more than likely be sent to GR for Grigoenko, who I really have not been impressed by.

    Franzen out 3-4 weeks

Throw Downey and Drake on the same line, that would be very entertaining to say the least.

    Official Downey On Waivers

I belive that I said that the wings should keed Downey. At 38 Drake can't keep this up, besides he never has been a major fighter, the most he has had in one season is four.

    10/6 GDT: Blackhawks 4, Wings 3 (SO)

HELL YEAH! USC lost to Stanford. 24-23!

    Official Downey On Waivers

With the games getting more physical they may need to keep Downey around. Drake has had two fights in two games.
  11. While I voted for Forsberg. I just have say while I don't want him as a Wing I do think that Anson Carter is a very good hockey player. He is a great team guy and will do anything for his team to win. Probably the only reason that Carter hasnt been signed was that in a pre-season game he got a concussion from a cheap hit by Belak. Up to that point it looked as though the Oilers were going to sign him.

    Official Downey On Waivers

I think it is bull that he hasn't even touched skate to ice in a regular season game and is more than likely going to be shipped off. I don't think we will ever see him in a game for the Wings the rest of this season, or ever again for that matter. After all "our power plaa is our enforcer." By the way I an not saying that Downey is an enforcer, but he at least has the balls to defend himself and his teammates unlike most of our roster.

Boogaard vs Koci from October 4th

Check out this bout from last night. Great fight with Koci gets a narrow win over Boogaard. Boogaard vs Koci

Eklund at it again. Forsberg to Detroit?

I hope that EK is just being an asshat. I also haven't found anything about Downey being put on wavers when I searched.

Boogaard vs Koci from October 4th

If I remember corectly Koci dropped his mitts three times in his first NHL game last season.

    Griffins 2007-08

Neil Clark is missing from your roster. Man, with Clark, Ference, and Keefe all on that roster that is going to be a tough team.

    Drake vs. Perry

That was a nice solid scrap. I call it a draw. Perry is a little ***** for refusing to remove his helmet w/ visor, then waiting for Dallas to reach up to flip his off to throw the first few punchs and Dallas had every right to be furious. Anyone see a rematch later thiis year?

Try the Union. Watched a few games there last year.

I hope EMU does decent in that game, I graduated from high scool with their QB.

    10/3 GDT: Red Wings 3, Anaheim Ducks 2 (F/SO)

As much as I would love some fights tonight, I hope most of our guys keep out of it. Most of the wings wouldnt know what to do once the gloves hit the ice. That said, I would love to see Pronger get his face smashed into the boards a couple times.

    Babcock confirms roster

I dont even care if he is on a regular line, but he really should at least be dressed against the Ducks and their herd of mindless goons.

Downey and Ellis skate at Monday practice

http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/2007/10...-at-lineup.html Take from it what you will. I just hope it means Downey is starting with Detroit, especially with the ducks coming into our barn on Wendsday night.

    20 games for Downie

Hey why stop at thirty? I think he sould be banned from ever skating in another pro or junior level game. Send him to the neather regions of some Quebec beer league. By the way if you hadn't figured it out I am being a dick and being extremley sarcastic.

One Last Pre-Season Game: Leafs @ Red Wings

As great as it was to see that Grigs got into a "fight", I would still prefer to see Aaron Downey signed. Grigs would probably learn more in Grand Rapids as one of their top forwards and gaining experince rather then riding the bench as a bottom level forward in Detroit. Edit for spelling

    20 games for Downie

A NHL rink is only 200 feet long. So by no means did he line it up from 150 feet away.
