Almost got to speak with Crosby's agent this weekend
Adidarw replied to WMUCarGuy's topic in General
They say that every 6th time you breathe in, you breathe in a molecule that was also breathed by George Washington. -
I've never had an aquarium. I'm sure I'd be alright at keeping up with a small aquarium though. The person below me has never been to a Red Wings game.

I think it looks kinda cool. The only thing I don't like is the incredibly similar logo to the Maple Leafs.

In my lifetime since I've been a fan, the Wings-Avs obviously is the greatest. The Wings-Preds also had some heat going for a while that was fun to watch.

I really don't understand all the hype around Zetterberg's goal. It was alright at best. More luck than anything. Maybe he does have the skill to pull that off again if he had the chance, I don't know. I'm sticking with it was luck. It really wasn't that good looking of a goal. Rick Nash's goal was amazing, on the other hand. That should have been the top one. That was all sorts of pretty and in my opinion the best looking goal I've ever seen. Franzen's was right up there with it and deserves more credit than it got. The Canada goal that made the top spot was cool, but shouldn't have been number one. Maybe 2 or 3.

I live in Okinawa, Japan and I just found a store that had an "Authentic" Zetterberg jersey for $65. The store owner told me his supplier had a few jerseys he was trying to get rid of real quick hence the super low price. It's a Reebok jersey, it has the fight strap and all...it looks authentic to me. It has the NHL hologram logo tag attached to the sleeve. I'm having trouble finding a site with a lot of information about this. Of course I bought the jersey on the spot. Especially for $65. If it turns out to not be authentic, well oh well it was cheap and it's a really nice jersey but it would be nice to know that it's actually authentic. Any help?

Personally I think Lidstrom, even if he's pretty much in the top 10 of every list out there, is underrated. He does his job the best. He wins the Norris like it was an award created just to give to him every year. He almost never makes mistakes. He gets the job done extremely efficiently. In a real-life fantasy draft, I'd be sure to make him my first pick if possible. Nicklas Lidstrom is as close to perfection as a player can get. He makes the top of my list. I have nothing against any of the other players on there, I just believe Lidstrom is overlooked because he doesn't make the pretty plays that get noticed. Instead, he's out there getting the job done with the basics making every second count and constantly producing results under the radar because he doesn't have the fancy moves or super hard hits. At the end of the day it's your effectiveness, not your fancy moves, that matters. I'd like to point out that I'm by no means saying that any of these other players are not good and only have fancy moves, not at all. My point/opinion is Lidstrom should be at the top of more of these lists.

It's also a bumper sticker on Facebook. That EXACT picture actually (the one you claim is yours). Where exactly did YOU get it from?

News flash: nobody has complained yet. Everyone seems happy.

If you can't wait to get into the fantasy hockey action, try out Metro Hockey Online. It's a simulated hockey game which means everything is computer generated. All the player names and stats are based on computer generation. When you sign up it automatically generates a team for you. From there you choose a league to join or create your own. Once you're in a league you're free to trade players, edit your lines, and whatnot. I'll let you check out the site to find out all the details. It's a pretty basic game. There isn't much to it. Just go visit the website and see for yourself. Here is a link. (Yes it is a referral link so if you do decide to sign up I'd appreciate it if you sign up through my referral page because it helps me out). http://www.metroho.com?reference=891 If you don't want to go through my referral link, here is a link to the homepage (there is no link trickery here, I promise): http://www.metroho.com

Lidstrom and Osgood, do they get their numbers retired?
Adidarw replied to SFwingsfan's topic in General
Yes to Lidstrom. He stayed with the team his entire NHL career (so far, and he doesn't show any signs of going anywhere else) and he is arguably one of the best defensemen in the history of the sport. In my opinion, Osgood shouldn't even be considered. He's a great goalie and fans love him but he was never a true superstar and he played for a few different teams. Possibly an honorable mention would do for Osgood. I don't think his number deserves to be permanently reserved. It would take someone like Roy who has always been there with the team and is considered an all-star goalie season after season. -
Is it not ok to speculate here?? I think he'll be slow to start but after a game or two he'll be back in tip-top shape.

Well, it depends on whos jobs it is we're talking about!!! Some jobs actually do depend on the result of those 2 hockey games! haha

All I know for sure is the puck has to get past everybody else on our team before it gets by Hasek.

The AHL store doesn't appear to offer custom jerseys. I can't even find a place to select players in the league to purchase their jerseys. Can you only purchase blank AHL jerseys? I tried searching Google and I can't find anything. Can anyone point me somewhere to get a custom Griffins jersey? Thanks. Edit: I found thesportingstore.com offers custom jerseys but for some reason the jersey images are not working on my computer and I don't think they offer the new Reebok jerseys which is what I want. If someone could verify that they are selling the Reebok jerseys I'd appreciate it.

OORAH! Consider this post my initiation!

I did predict 6-2 Wings, its close!
-
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the Wings come prepared with a new game plan tonight and light up the Flames with a 6-2 win, crushing their confidence.

I've gotten used to the dark jersey at home. I like it this way now. Is there a link to a source saying the NHL is going to white home jerseys next year or did someone just pull that out of nowhere?

White Murphy autographed jersey Red personalized jersey (see avatar) btw...number 86 is mine lol Black practice jersey

I just read an article about the NHL expanding to 32 teams in 4 or 5 years. Possibly to Las Vegas and somewhere else. How does expansion work? Where do the new teams get their players from? Is there an 'equaling draft' where teams have to give up a player or two for the new team or do they start from scratch? If they start from scratch, what is scratch?? They sign guys off the street?

He sure is good at giving the 'general average hockey player responses'. He's not a very exciting talker at all. The whole time I was thinking 'jeez man, just answer the question and shut up!' lol

The only real stat you can accurately use to judge the 'best goaltender' would probably be save percentage. No matter how many shots you had or didnt have against, you save what you save. Brodeur has a pretty good save percentage.

Alex Kovalev's amazing accuracy clip! WOW I'm speechless
Adidarw replied to kovatsyuk's topic in General
Wow. I didn't know it was possible to be that accurate. This makes me respect hockey players even more (I'm sure there has to be other players out there with similar skills).
