Winnipeg slated to host 2016 outdoor game
Z Winged Dangler replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
That definitely looks like the outskirts of Winnipeg. You can watch your dog run away for 3 days. -
I like the roster, but Weiss and Scuderi should each get about 3.5 mil. And that isn't really that far fetched, but the Kings will fight hard to keep Scuderi around.

Radulov is a drunk ass party slob with a terrible attitude. No thanks dude. If that was our only line up change I'd barf in my mouth.

They won their cup in 2009. They like to win every 20 years. Hopefully they go more than that, or just never win again, but Ray "GM of the year" Shero apparently didn't get the memo that the cap is going down 6 million next year and you can't blow 18.2 on 2 players and still have enough depth to win the cup, hence Boston's sweep of them. The B's have 4 lines, the Pens don't. I'm actually quite happy the Penguins have handcuffed themselves though as I have intolerable hatred for that organization as a whole.

Trade the rights to Flip, Quincey and Pulkkinen to Dallas for Loui Eriksson. Reunite Mule-Z-Eriksson.

2013 Stanley Cup Finals - Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=425250 This probably had a topic 2 years ago, but now the rioters are being charged and some spent some time in jail. I love how half of the people that were actually involved weren't even hockey fans, they just wanted to steal electronics and other schwag. Good times.

Why do you think us Canadians have such wood for Brodeur? We have some good goalies, but we pump up hacks like Malcolm Subban instead of good goalies like Patterson who should have started for Canada at the WJHC last year and wonder why our goalies don't develop as they should. I'm not very proud of our latest string of goalies that falls way short of up and comers and proven goalies that include the likes of Mrazek, Quick, Howard, Lundqvist and such. We have an aged Brodeur, Subban and then ever entertaining Luongo who is currently fighting for his job with yet another American goalie. And don't forget Fleury who lost his starting job to Vokoun. Canadian goalies NEED to fight for their jobs and be pushed by outside sources. What kind of message does it send to them when they're handed jobs in the CHL that they don't deserve?
-
He'll rid the job of evil and do it the way it should be done. Maybe the CHL needs to be run by better candidates as well, as shown by the title of this thread. Absolute bush-league.
-
Steve Yzerman is a level headed individual and he should be the NHL commissioner. Maybe then the NHL and hockey in general will be in the spotlight for positive reasons.
-
We all should be. As any job in the world, the most qualified person should get the job, and it is not so in any workplace. And now the CHL? Guess we got Mrazek just in time.
-
This is the only job that Canadians secure for themselves in this godforsaken country?? ******* junior goalies? My wife can't get a job anywhere that's not fast food, but we're drawing the line at goalies? This country is a waste bin of hypocrisy.

In defence of MajSheppard, comments were made where it seemed like guys read a few lines and commented back without reading jack-f***-all. I agree with the sentiment that Goose, Smith and Brunner won't make as much as projected in the OP and Kindl may be around 2.5-2.8, but I'm also not gonna be a condescending dick about it. The OP was well constructed and written and aside from some indlated salaries, give the guy some credit for a well thought out post. The main idea is that without buying out Sammy, which is the most realistic option and letting a couple guys walk like Flip and such, we won't even be in talks with guys like Horton, Clarkson, Ryder or even Bickell. And there's not many roster spots left and we want Tatar up and Jurco may be fighting for someone's spot soon too by the looks of it. Personally, I'd let Flip go, try to sign Horton and go to town with some quality GR boys.

Horcoff coming to the Wings would make me lose all faith in Holland and I would not watch the Wings until that useless sack of s*** was gone. Miller is the Horcoff type of player, but I'd rather keep Miller if that were the case. I think it's actually time for Miller to move on and free up space for Tatar (full time) and Callahan or Sheahan to play some games as call ups this year. We have an abundance of talent in GR these days and don't require the bridge contracts anymore, especially with the cap projections handcuffing GM's at least for the next 5-6 years realistically. I'd take Ladd any day over Franzen. There's a reason teams won Cups with Ladd on the 3rd line twice. Carolina and Chicago. Ladd is one of the most competitive hockey players I've ever seen and that dates back to his Jr career on the Calgary Hitmen, then the WJHC. There's a reason he's got a C on his jersey. He leads by example as well as any captain in the NHL. He deserves every penny he makes cause he goes out there, competes and never takes a shift off. Franzen has all the tools and doesn't use them.

Babcock named Head Coach for Canada at Sochi Olympics
Z Winged Dangler replied to under_par_00's topic in General
Lol...barely. I think I was just cheering for Z and Dats and didn't care much for Canada's player selections. Next olympics should be a nasty good team Canada. I'll actually cheer for them and like the team. -
Hell no. Lots of people are freaking out that Dats and Z are getting older and we have no one to replace them. Jurco/Nyquist may be the closest guys we have as a future comparison to Dats/Z. Keep them both and build around them. Those are 2 guys that should be untouchable.
-
Honestly I think that if Malkin got traded, the Avs would offer the 1st overall pick and someone like Duchene or Landeskog to get a deal done. That 1st pick this year is pretty coveted, as are 2 and 3. And we all know the Pens would want something to keep them competitive without missing a beat. The top 3 would keep them up there.
-
Franzen would make a nice Florida Panther. Instead of checking guys he can meow at them and scratch at Patty Kane's mouthguard some more. I'd even go so far as to draw on wiskers and he could double as a mascot so he doesn't get bored during the season, and now apparently the playoffs.

WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks
Z Winged Dangler replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Seeing as our boys took the Hawks to 7 and Minnesota lost in 5, and the Kings may as well. Proud of our boys even with the skid at the end. -
Calgary's GM is an absolute derp.
-
Or he could be here for next season, bail out for the biggest contract he could get and we're without Nyquist, Smith and 2 1st rounders for a Hossa like rental.
-
Haha....I see you've been reading my posts. I think Flip is either a Duck or a Flame next year.
-
True, and I love the Wings style. I'm more getting at the fact that we need the big bodies to compliment the skilled guys. Dats like Tuzzi or Abdelkader. Toews usually has Bickell. Nyquist and Brunner have Andersson. He's not a big hitter, but he's a big body with some skill. We need our own Lucic style guy.
-
With the number of wreckless headshots in the NHL these days, I'm not surprised. Probably the best decision for him unfortunately. He was a really good player and the Blues will no doubt miss him.

INSANE grand rapids roster next season full of prospects
Z Winged Dangler replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
And he stated that he needs to strengthen up for next year as well. The only reason he's not suiting up for the playoffs right now is cause he was scheduled to play in the WC. He'll be there for sure. He's not another Ryno.
