Franzen played pretty good against the Flames last night. Got the lucky goal as a reward I guess, but I really like how he used his skill along the boards and moved with purpose. Dude can dangle....when he cares to.

No way dude. He's got 2 points in the last 14 games. That's stellar for a guy who wants a substantial raise. He's bringing other great things to each game right now. I'm just having a hard time figuring out what. Cleary sucks.

He's just a terrible puck handler. Everything else in his game is great, but that part is just the s***s. Even when he doesn't whiff on the puck, he gives it away up the boards EVERY time. Our D has to get there before he does cause we don't ever want him to leave his crease.

Agreed. The boys know how terrible Howard is at playing the puck, the 1 flaw in his game. Hustle back so he doesn't have to. And it was a SH goal too... 2 in 1 game really hurts. Those happen maybe twice a season.

Smith needs to be unleashed to provide offense the way Kronwall could when he was 2nd pairing with Stuart. DeKeyser is so smart back there and poised that it would allow Smith to do just that and know he had some quality back up, which he hasn't had when he's been on with White and Quincey this year. Kindl and Smith doesn't work well cause they're too alike and they give up some odd man rushes. All White ever was, was a noodle stuck in the strainer. Time to go down the drain noodle. His play said it for him. It's pretty much implied that his spot is secure.

I'm with the general consensus around here. This game was special. Once a year we have the Winter Classic in the US and the Heritage Classic in Canada. It was a 1 game special event on January 1st that was the best possbile way you could ring in the new year and now it's just another outdoor game. Adding 5 more games may be good for revenue, but it takes away the glamour. And 2 for the Rangers? Come on already.

DeKeyser will be our #1 next year once he takes over all the ice time. Still hasn't been on for a goal against I believe. Keep Smith in as a regular with a regular partner and he'll run with it. Lashoff is good, but I still think Smith will be the real deal.

No kidding. It's our offence that's not cutting it. Our D has been playing really good and been chipping in with points. We need our forwards to cash in on their scoring chances.

I'd be nervous with Chicago, but the team that would kick the s*** out of us unless Howie stands on his head and we get some bounces is LA. I see a WCF of Chicago vs LA now that St. Louis has zero consistency. I still want Duck Soup!

You still need big bodies like Tuzzi that are vets who can produce. What is slowing the development of the Nyquist's and Tatar's and Smith's is Cleary, Sammy (although he's kinda been the reason we've seen the kids this year), White, Coliacovo, Quincey, and even Miller. We have those guys signed for multi year deals which keeps pushing back the start date of the young guys NHL careers. Tuzzi is better than all those players mentioned, plays great with Pav and Mule and adds size that unfortunately the only prospects we have that do at forward are Andersson and Sheahan. And Nyquist has done a nice job playing his way into the top 6 at times and is looking really nice on a line with Brunner and Andersson, so no change needed there. If we get Tuzzin and Helm back, we have Tuzzi up with Dats, and Abdelkader on the 4th line with Helm and Tootoo. I'm not seeing a downside to that. Thank you.

As long as he didn't go to the Penguins, Canucks or Sharks, I wanted him to move at the deadline. Wait for him to be in Calgary next year with Hudler.
