So basically, if they don't trade Luongo then they can't get Gaborik unless they trim other salary?? Holland should go after him hard for a little fan redemption from the past 2 seasons. As long as we don't lose Sproul or Ouellet in a trade then I'm good with other prospects going in a trade for him. Dude's definitely worth going after.

Lol at Bobby Lou. Don't slip on a puck without your helmet on. -
And a strand of hair from Zetterberg's beard.

I was completely unaware they wanted to deal Gaborik. He had a history of injuries, but how long is he still signed for? I thought they'd be contenders for sure. Staal going down on D was a big hit to them too now that i think about it. Girardi and McDonough are getting overworked more than Kronner now. I'd definitely put Nyquist in a deal for Gaborik. He's a fast as hell sniper. If he becomes available, I don't care what other teams would give for him, I care about whom Holland would part with to get him on a line with Dats. We would have cap space next season for him too.

Haha...they're like a bunch of 5 year olds showing up to hockey dressed. Daddy, tie my skates! -
The Rangers are a classic case of underachieving. Brad Richards has looked like s*** all year and Callahan needs to be more of a presence. It is kinda funny though WRT Nash being unlucky. He's tasted playoffs all of once and he has no interest in them again so he told the Rangers to suck epically so their summer is longer.

Kindl is currently +14 and had a +4 game a number back. So with reference to our D's puck moving skills, his are there. He's getting really good at moving the puck up ice and as a result, we're getting more offensive opportunities and the faster you enter the zone the easier it is to get deep and sustain pressure on the other teams D. Glad to see Kindl doing so well. He's also got 8 points in 22 games which works out to .36 ppg which would be 29-30 pts over an 82 game season. Decent output for a guy that's usually on the 3rd pairing. He's also been good on the PP.

I could just smell the NHL selling out hard and giving the divisions awesome corporate names. Tampax, Charmin, Huggies and Vagasil would go really good with half the arena names. I want royalties for my idea. Or we can be even more injured than usual when our guys get murdered along the boards. -
We can both agree on that one.

This season is weirder than I expected. There are only probably 2 teams in each conference that are consistently playing good every night and getting points as a result. If the Wings can somehow hang on to 4th until playoffs start, then they could go deep if healthy, but starting on the road is not their friend.

Momentum is a hard thing to get if you don't work for it.

It's not so much that Sammy and Tuzzi play big and hit a lot, is that their more adept on the cycle holding guys off with their bigger frames. That's the main reason they last in the top 6 is that they're hard to get the puck off of. That's also one of the main things that Nyquist needs to get better at to be more effective at the NHL level. Sammy and Tuzzi are also .5 ppg players and that's not too bad. They're both likely on their last contract with the Wings too, and if Tuzzi wants to retire cause of his back then Holland can use an amnesty buyout and not feel bad about it.

You bet your ass it is. Nyquist got another taste. I wish him and Tatar made up 2/3 of the 3rd line with Helm at centre, but hey, there's always next year once some fat is trimmed. Either way, it's definitely a sign that Helm is on his way. Apparently we were typing the same thing at the same time on the same Bat channel. Nice. Especially Nyquist. Tatar looked better at holding on to the puck. Nyquist definitely looked like he needed to add some more muscle. He's got the skills, but he needs to bulk up to be more effective on the cycle.
-
You always know where he's been on the ice though. You ever see the green slime that slugs leave when they travel to and fro? By the 3rd you expect him to float in and and give us something to talk about. Page 3/Period 3...same dif. Realistically, Brunner wouldn't be a bad idea on the 3rd line for a bit....when Helm returns and you can have both of them tearing around the ice together. Brunner may be able to get better open ice shots when the opposition gets mesmorized by Helm's speed.

Abby scored his 2nd goal with his ding dong. Dats apparently is fully aware that Adelkader has the largest dick in the NHL and it has more scoring power than his actual stick. Good heads up play by Dats. I will try to Tosh-0 video breakdown Abby's next goal for you guys. This one you just get commentary. -
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Ian White has been complete garbage this year. He's decent on the PP, but Smith can take his spot when he gets back. The biggest complaint I have about White is that he can't make the first pass to save his life. Every time he gets the puck in the defensive zone he blindly throws it up the boards and 90% of the time it gets stopped at the blue line by the other team. It's about time to put Huskins back in the line up and put White in the press box with tapes to watch illustrating how you make a break out pass.
-
I'd rather have Omark for White just for the prospect of offence being created. We know what White brings to the table and we know his days here are numbered. Give Omark a tryout with the Wings this year and see if he's got a place here.

The quality of NCAA players is great cause they have more time to mature before joining the NHL cause they generally want to finish school before making the jump and we don't have everyone wanting to push them straight from Jr to NHL. There are few exceptions of guys who are ready to make that jump. Sproul and Ouellet may be 2, but they'll still do their time in GR. Dekeyser on the other hand would take the Schultz jump right to the big club cause he's matured enough to do so, and I truly hope he is a Wing as soon as the season is done.

We don't need to trade Kronwall, we need to get him a D partner that is the equivalent of 2008 Brad Stuart. Ericsson is awesome, but that pairing has been the s***s lately.
-
It's not so bad having 1 of Abs/Cleary, but both is just absurd. If the line was Z-Dats-Abs then it would have the Z-Dats-Homer effect, but with Cleary on the other Wing, it's just Mike Babcock pulling shenanigans with his lines.

I think at this point if Flip is not re-signed by the trade deadline, he should be moved if for nothing else than draft picks cause those will at least still be here this summer even if he is not. I don't like the idea of losing Flip, but moreso I do not like the idea of him wanting $5+ million. He should get the Franzen 3.8 unless he finishes this year with 15 goals, which would involve a lot more shooting.
-
All of this and you can also add that they have hard working skilled forwards who are getting valuable playing time like Matt Calvert and Cam Atkinson. Ryan Murray will also add another element to their team once he's ready to go. I expect Ryan Johansson to pick up point production once he gets more accustomed to a deeper role on their team and cathches up with NHL speed. They also got Spencer Machacek in a trade with the Jets who can play top or bottom 6 and he's got good speed and great work ethic. If they can get a UFA or 2 to add more scoring depth and get a couple decent draft picks this year, they could be a legit playoff team in a couple years. The may make it this year, but they'll get bounced in the 1st round cause they don't have enough scorers yet.

I guess i was wrong about those 2...they da best yo! -
Agreed. This is likely why Tatar was swapped with Nyquist as well so they both get a taste and you can only have a 23 man roster so we'll only see a couple up at a time. After a couple contracts expire we'll see more if them inserted. Next up is Callahan.
