TSN has the Sens/Habs game on still. I love missing parts of Wings games... -

Hopefully the insertion of skill translates into goals. I wish Tatar was still in the line up though. -

I could tell you as someone who lives in Winnipeg that none of Wheeler, Kane, Buff, Ladd, Little, Bogosian or Pavelec will be traded this year. Doubtful that Enstrom will move either, but there's more of a chance that he'd move than Bogo or Buff. Side note, still 13:20 left in Habs/Sens game. They better wrap that up before the Wings game starts. -

Babcock: Is he the right guy going forward?
Z Winged Dangler replied to clutchngrab's topic in General
That's definitely the problem is that there isn't a better coach out there. Ours is just being stubborn as all hell. I think the fact that he left the square wheel line together so long just has a lot of people very pissed. And if Dats leaves after next season, it will be remembered for a long time and a lot of people may blame Babcock for not giving Datsyuk the tools he deserved to be the best player he could be. -
We are the Detroit Red Wings and we are making the playoffs
Z Winged Dangler replied to canadian wings fan's topic in General
Who said they want the Wings to miss the playoffs? Hope you're not talking about me, cause i would never WANT them to miss the playoffs. Arguments have just been made that it may be beneficial to get the higher picks. I personally believe that we have the pieces to actually win the Stanley Cup, but the wrong pieces are being used a la Abby and Cleary anchoring the skills of Datsyuk, but Tatar being sent down, Nyquist not being on the team all year....these are mistakes. I'll be cheering just as hard as every other Wings fan out there. And you calling someone on here a D-bag also isn't very constructive and can also be defined as a "personal attack". I like your enthusiasm, but you need to word things better to not attack or condescend the good people on this site. -

Let Cleary or Abdelkader sit for a game. All the points they got on Dats' wings must have them exhausted. -
I just watched the hit for the first time. the 4 game suspension was not needed. Zucker didn't brace himself for a hit while he admired a pass and the hit was barely late at all. 5 and a game was more than enough. only reason it was more than 2 minutes is cause Perry is taller than Zucker and hit shoulder to head and Zucker laid on the ice long enough for everyone in the building to take a leak. That's why you keep your head up. Elbow never came up, wasnt' charging, just half a second late. Rookies get toasted on these hits all the time. Not in junior anymore kiddo.

That's what i've been asking for too. Why in the hell would you call up the leading scorer in the AHL and sit him? Any idea what that does the the players momentum, confidence and perception of the big club? Pile of crap. -

Is Babcock trying to play mind games with the Flames coach? Just sit Cleary already. Or better yet, gift him to Calgary. -
Likely most of them. The majority of teams spent close to the 70.2 mil cap and will have to trim fat for next season. While we should have some cap space and the Islanders, but the Islanders aren't a very attractive destination these days unless you want to sit in the sun and collect a paycheck for not playing.

Cleary has 100% tunnel vision. When he shoots it's usually from the side boards directly into the bread basket and his hands are made of stone. Someone with zero offensive creativity should be on the 2nd line, and if someone like that is put on a line with Pavel ******* Datsyuk, you expect more than a few points in like 13 games. I'd rather see Cleary get picked up off waivers than Tatar go down to GR again.

We are the Detroit Red Wings and we are making the playoffs
Z Winged Dangler replied to canadian wings fan's topic in General
Making the playoffs will do the exact opposite for the young guys. Babcock will go with the "experience" over the young legs that would carry us to the 2nd round. While i'd love to see the Wings in the playoffs, it may be a wake up call that we're all seeing that our young guys are the future, not offseason signings to stock up on bottom 6 players, aside from Tootoo of course. -
2014 is gonna rock ass if we use our assets like that and don't bring back tampons like Cleary and White. I'm excited for the future of this team.
-
If they even once got by their old man, they excel at forward.
-
4 Forwards that are/may be available, that help us:

Pretty much Stafford. Kulemin is a less skilled Filppula. -
I'd rather see Cleary go on a permanent vacation and keep both.
-
Agreed here. Keep Brunner in the top 6 cause he's a goal scorer. Do not touch the 3rd line. They've been the most consistent line we have. The only thing that needs to happen is to get Cleary and Abby out of the top 6. Flip should be back against the Flames and when Helm gets back, we can have a 4th line of Abby-Helm-Miller leaving the 3rd line once again as is. The wheel is round.
-
Ya man, let White go, abandon ship on Q however possible and sign Dekeyser to play with Smith. That would be the perfect pairing.
-
On the bright side, Ericsson and Kindl are starting to excel at the breakout pass. We just have to be patient and let them continue to get better. We're not used to this waiting thing, but if the boys don't make the playoffs or get bounced in the 1st round, we can take a positive of a mid round pick and hopefully get Ryan Pulock and sign Dekeyser and we'll have the best D prospect depth in the league automatically adding those 2 to the guys we already have. I'll sound like a broken record on that until the draft is done, but with those 2 and draft a bunch of big forwards we'll be perfectly fine. The main thing this offseason is to trim the fat and let some of the older or uneffective guys take a walk. White needs to walk and as much as i've liked Huskins he won't have a spot here next season. Especially if we want to get Dekeyser, whom as a Michigan boy, I would think the Wings have the edge in signing him.

Holland says those dreaded words, "Our Deadline Addition"
Z Winged Dangler replied to Jedi's topic in General
If White was a +22, Ericsson would have been +50 with Lids and we all would have seen last year just what a derp White is. Last year we would have been so much better if our pairs were Lids-E, Stuart-Kronner, Smith-Kindl....what's done is done, but I just hope seeing our young guys do this well that the overripe s*** takes a hike. -
Waive Quincey and put him beside Smith where he is destined to be for the next 15 years. Sign here _________________ We already have Sproul and Ouellet. McKee will hopefully be a nasty hitting shutdown guy. Sign Dekeyser and draft Ryan Pulock. If we get Dekeyser and Pulock this offseason, i'll crap my pants. After that, we need more guys up who can put the puck inthe net..

Kindl getting his shots off quick is also why he's surprising goalies a bit and starting to bury the biscuit.
