Sproul and Ouellet are going to be .9 mil each, Brunner will get probably 3.5-4, Tatar will get likely 2 mil as will Nyquist, Flip will likely get Franzen's cap hit of 3.8, Howard isn't going anywhere and McCollum is Bryzgalov's left nut. Perry and Getzlaf if they don't re-sign with the Ducks will get huge offers from some teams, but not necessarily teams they want to play for. If the Wings offer them 6.5 or 7 mil per, that would be a better option than 14 from the Islanders. Lots of higher end teams don't have the space for any of the big names and they likely don't want to go places like NYI, Jackets, Flames and such crappy teams.

It doesn't help that Backstrom is a POS this year. We should try and make a trade to get Troy Brouwer out of there.

While I love those lines....a lot....I can't wait for Helm to come back and imagine the fun we can have with a top 9 barring further injuries. Brunner-Z-Flip Tatar-Dats-Franzen Nyquist-Helm-Bertuzzi 3rd line would have to be the Robaxacet line. Hope Helm and Tuzzi get better soon.

People love undervaluing our guys and overvaluing potential UFA's. They seem to think that our guys are here and will take more of a hometown discount to pave room for a massive handcuff signing. People dislike Franzen's signing enough, imagine if Perry was making 8 mil here putting up not even a point per game.

Last back to back Wings stomped Vancouver, and it was beautiful.

Nyquist has been working on shooting more since last year and has a much better balance now. Dats is also shooting more, and really if you add Tatar to that line then you have a guy that really likes to shoot. Nyquist is also good on the defensive end too so instead of signing spare parts this offseason aside from Tootoo, it would have been just as productive to have Gus on the 3rd line. I agree with your assessment that he's more of a playmaker, but at the same time, a playmaker with Gus and Dats' skill they could make some nasty passing plays.

When Nyquist first came up last season, he had 7 points in 9 or 10 games and then Franzen floated back into the line up, literally floated, and Gus got buried on the 4th line with Emmerton and Homer and got 5-6 mins a night. If he at least got 3rd line mins then he could have got a few more points. He got garbage ice time when Franzen came back and was on the leftovers 4th line through playoffs as well. He produced when he was actually given a chance to do so, just like Tatar.

Look at the list from capgeek in the other thread, there's a good amount of UFA Dmen coming up.

It shouldn't have to be a huge novelty like it is when Cleary actually has a couple good games, but it really is. I truly hope he is not re-signed this summer. 4 points in 19 games doesn't mean "Cleary's back", it simply means he had a multiple point game to double his season total while playing 20 mins a night in the top 6 with Dats. Not sold on him.

I was really hoping that he would have Kronwalled a Sedin sister or blast Kesler back to the press box.

Not sure how many guys noticed, but his defensive game has been a lot better the past couple games. Kronner may be getting more comfortable in the big role without Big Poppa Nick there. Lets hope the first batch of games was just his "grace period" and we got Kronner back.

Other than the obvious guys like Perry, Getzlaf, Iginla, Backstrom, Selanne and Alfredsson....half of which may re-sign or retire, there's a decent amount of good complimentary players. Such as: Brendan Morrow, Mark Streit, Nathan Horton (one of my top choices), Rob Scuderi (really solid Dman), Douglas Murray, David Clarkson (i'm bigtime on this bandwagon), Ladislav Smid, Joe Corvo, Ryan Jones, Tyler Bozak, Blake Comeau, Brad Boyes, Viktor Stalberg. If even a handful of those guys are available, there's no reason at all to re-sign Cleary, Miller, and whoever fits that mold. Guys I really don't want to see are: Alexander Semin, Sergei Gonchar, Mike Riberio, Ron Hainsey, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Nik Antropov, Ryane Clowe, Matt Cullen, Dustin Penner, Dainius Zubrus, Ian White, Danny Cleary, Adrian Aucoin, Matt Cooke, Raffi Torres, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Francis Bouillon, Alexi Kovalev, Maxim Lapierre and that's as far down the list as i'm going. I just hope Kenny lets some people walk and makes himself a list of guys he'd like to play here and sign only a few tops and for 2 years max unless obviously it's a Getzlaf/Perry type.
