As pissed off as I am that the NHL is locked out yet again, I'm gonna come crashing back like an excited kid when the NHL resumes. If it was boycottBettman or fireBettman, i'd be 110% onboard. They said the CBA negotiations were hard to get started during the season, but the only 4 people in all but 1 meeting have been Bettman, Daly and the Fehr's so i'm not seeing why they couldn't have had bi-weekly conference calls with the owners and PA and have the same 4 guys meet during the year. We would likely be waiting to see training camps right now and not disappointed that another lockout is here and have horse s*** facebook groups making boycott NHL groups. How about a facebook page for bring back the NHL? I may even join that one and i have no time for facebook these days.

I'm gonna order the black Wings jersey from NHL shop cause i have the special edition NHL 13 coupon code and if the season starts, i will get the Jets channel to do my part to make sure we don't lose them again. other than that the NHL as a whole this year can eat my junk. this league will not move forward anymore until Bettman and his cancerous reign is over and someone takes over that cares more collectively about the owners, players and FANS and less about moving the game into non-hockey markets and having too much pride to admit mistakes and move on.

NHL13 early release 85% downloaded....status: content. Hockey starts next friday. Not having NHL hockey to watch will grind on my nerves very quickly by late october at the latest. Those pads are huge. Nice looking and sharp, but that's what's wrong with the goaltenders equipment these days. It's almost cheating...

It says what the dumb move each team made this offseason is, and apparently the Wings' 1 bad one is not signing Ryan Suter. Article for Wings part: Yes, Detroit had no power in where Ryan Suter chose to play next season, but the price for Suter not signing in Detroit will be heavy for the Red Wings. With the retirement of Nick Lidstrom and departure of Brad Stuart, the Red Wings' defense is now led by Niklas Kronwall. No offense to Kronwall, but he is a huge step down from the likes of Lidstom and Suter. The Red Wings needed to bring in a replacement and they couldn't. For the first time in a long time, things are not looking so good in the Motor City. I bolded my favorite parts. Their 1 dumb move is something they had no control over, and apparently Kronwall is a huge step down from not only Lidstrom (understandable...who isn't?) and also Suter... I call BS on the 2nd one. Figured i'd comment on the Wings one. But since things are so slow with CBA talks at a halt, let's hash over all of them...

This one time, I took my skate off and tried to stab a guy....I'm the only guy to ever do that! I looked at the pictures and it looks awesome. What's cooler than skating off after a shift and looking up realizing you're playing hockey in the ampithetre that's been standing, what...over 1000 years? I'd get shivers.

If the refs called the series fair, Canada wouldn't have had to rely on the heroic goal from Paul Henderson to win. They likely would have won the series 6-2. Also, if all the NHLers that didn't show up would have played in the series against "the best the Russians had to offer" they would have won more convincingly. Only 1 name needed to end the Kharlamov debate....Bobby Orr.

I thought about Helm being a fellow Winnipegger. He would definitely be one of my choices. Also, I'd love to have a sit down with Franzen and talk about work ethic.

I have a hard time being mad at Holland for the simple fact that as you said, teams are tired of seeing the Wings so successful and they don't want to add to it by trading with us and for the fact that Nyquist and Smith both get a legit shot this year to make the team and the addition of a guy like Brunner may be the recipe for Dats cracking 100 points. There's a lot of potential with this team and while Suter/Parise would have made the Wings instant cup favorites, there's nothing that could have been done to lure them here cause family reasons took them to Minnesota. I think that Kenny did what he could and i'm pretty excited for the season to start whenever it does and to see Nyquist, Smith and Brunner wearing the Winged Wheel. And not signing Hudler shows me he's not gonna overpay for a guy who rides coat tails of better players. And that along with signing Brunner is the Wings best move this offseason.

P.S. I love Minnesota's dumb move....spending 196 million on Suter and Parise, while our dumb move was not signing Suter.

Nyquist and Brunner. They'll both be big full time additions to the top 6. If Eaves is good to go, he'll beef up the bottom 6 scoring as well.

I get NHL13 friday at 4 pm. If not for that i would completely lose it about no hockey. as it stands right now, there will be multiple trips to Brandon with the old man for our hockey fix. Unfortunately none of the friday or saturday games are against the Giants cause we both wanted to see Tvrdon.... May as well at least try to see some Wings prospects during the likely lockout.

Bolded part pretty much drives the point home as to why fans are more behind the players. the owners and GM's have handcuffed themselves. the owners have no problem offering massive contracts to keep their stars, but then complain and cry to the NHL when they have to pay them and the CBA expires and they try to take 10 steps back when they are the one's to blame for salary inflation in the first place.

Granlund is a really good player, I'll give them that. Bouchard is an injury prone *** and he reminds me of Kovalev a lot of the time minus the skill Alexei had. In closing, Wild still kinda suck and Bouchard is 3rd line at best, but still not that great. You mean Thunder Buddies' wives? Whatever floats their boats. Suter will be hurting without Weber on his line to pad his PP stats. Brendan Smith will be known as a better dman by years end if there's a season. I hope Setoguchi makes his way to the NHL's diving board and Minnesota gets slaughtered on the PK all year killing unsportsmanlike calls.

I misread the first post on mine above. If it was our roster, i'd take Z cause he's my favorite player and there's always a million questions that you can ask your favorite player. He's a pretty laid back guy it seems too.

If that was the Wings' lineup, I'd vomit profusely. That is not a playoff team let alone a contender.

This offseason isn't bad considering once a deal actually gets done, the Wings will be under the cap and the Wild will have to shed 13 million in salary. And the Wings were, and are still a playoff team, whereas the Wild still will most likely be on the outside looking in. As much of a hit as our blueline took, have a nice look at the Wilds and tell me for one second that theirs is better.

And he's better than Taylor Hall. Eberle is Mr. Clutch. I'd give a LOT to make that kid a Wing. 34 goals last year with a offensively stagnant Oilers team....pretty damn good.

Agreed. See Minnesota's capgeek. They better hope there's a salary rollback if the cap goes down around 58 mil. They're over the current cap and still have a lack of depth. At least the Wings still look like a playoff team to anyone who actually knows hockey and how to build a competitive team.

the NHL and NHLPA need to simplify the CBA. It's way more technical than it needs to be. Roll back all salaries 10%
