Getting Nash would be great, but would come at a high cost. Probably would see our 2013 1st rounder gone along with Flip or Franzen and someone like Jarnkrok or Tatar and a good D prospect. Not worth selling the farm. Parise can be had for a dollar amount with nothing else going out the other way, same with Suter. Nash also has a pre-detemined salary of what, 8+ mil i think?? Either way, i'd rather keep the idea of going after Parise, Suter and Prust. It makes the most sense and would make the Wings instant favourite. And before anyone brings up an argument that Hossa coming over made the wings instant cup repeaters, he got 40 goals and the boys lost game 7 of the SCF...

Agreed with OP, and Smith over Quincey please and thank you. Smith is a huge part of the Wings future on D and offence from Dmen.

Thanks bud, i puked some of my lunch up in my mouth when i read Pacioretty.... This offseason, it's Parise or bust. The Wings could use Suter, but Parise is needed more as the Wings have decent depth at D and could always throw an offer at Weber next offseason. Smith will be up full time next year as he should have been this year. Send Prust an offer July 1st, there's some toughness and a quality player that could play on the 3rd line and rotate on the 2nd to get Z the puck. The Wings don't need a complete overhaul, they just need to let pieces go that no longer belong. Taking an entire team and dismantling them is just pure stupidity. Guys like Sheahan and Jarnkrok will be on the team for sure probably starting the 2013 season and we'll most likely see more youth in the next couple years. To suggest trading away Dats and Z, you are not a true Wings fan. That's like saying the Wings should have traded away Federov and Shanahan back in the day. Lets wait to see what Kenny does before we lose our s*** and use taglines like "EA Sports, it's in the game"

That's the 3rd line I mentioned on the 2nd page somewhere when i replaced Tatar with Andersson and some of the other guys still blasted me....so I like your 3rd line, looks young and healthy. Now if we could only replace Franzen with someone who cares. The Wings need a guy in that 2nd line spot that's right handed and has a similar play style to Dustin Brown/Ryan Callahan. If only we had a first round pick to go after one of the prospects with the 18th or so overall pick.

Honestly, I'd rather spread the rookies out in the line up like you mentioned, but to the last question about what would happen to that line against Nashville...I almost puked watching the Wings play in the playoffs this year. They were slow as hell and there was no creativity. The kid line would have energy to spare and Gus for sure is very quick and very creative. If he wasn't playing with Emmerton and Homer, he could have done a lot more for the team aside other higher skilled players. I'm not saying it be all end all with our prospects, but it's admittedly getting very boring watching the Wings do the same uneffective s*** game after game and rely on 10 shootout wins to keep pace to make the playoffs. The Wings need to add youth and if it means having even Smith, Nyquist and Jarnkrok which are 3 very good players and letting a couple old guys retire or sign elsewhere to make the team better in the longrun, then so be it. The most exciting team in the NHL currently is the Flyers. 7 rookies in the line up. they're young and fast.

Jarnkrok was 14th in the Elitserien in scoring with 16 goals, 23 assists, 39 points in 50 games. I also am pretty sure that the Euro leagues don't award 2nd assists on goals, so his NHL equivalent point total could be a point per game or more. He also finished 5th in the league in playoff scoring with 4 goals, 12 assists, 16 points in 16 games and was a whopping +13. The potential is definitely there. When is the next Sweden game scheduled for in the WC?

A) i thought you were talking about the post Heaten was referring to, which was mine B) Hudler is very replaceable and his slowness and lack of ability to be effective on the forecheck bothers me every time he gets on the ice. C) i am in no way getting into a prospect fight with you. you're actually one of the guys on here who has a lot of detailed good information and researched as well, so i respect your posting. i also do a lot of research on players and watch probably over 500 games a year between NHL reg season, playoffs, WJC, memorial cup, AHL, CHL and i even got to watch some DEL while in Germany for a month, so i know quite a bit about a lot of prospects for every team, but keep my homerism for the Wings prospects but judge them the hardest, hence Nestrasil sucks.

I'm most unsure about Tatar too. I just ran with the proposal that originally came from someone else. Personally I'd rather see Nyquist-Jarnkrok-Andersson. Andersson's a big mother with grit and speed that can do damage on the forecheck and would open up a lot of space for Gus and Ironhook to do their thing. Just my 2 cents, but I for one think that the Wings have some highly talented players in their system and i'd also like to see Mrazek sign with the Griffins soon and get Marek Tvrdon there as well, cause after the WJC, he looked to be along with Jarnkrok one of the prospects whose game was mature enough to advance quickly towards the NHL.

Winning is fun yes. It's also fun watching a line that does something creative with the puck, not just gain the blue line and go logo hunting. Bertuzzi's not as bad, but Cleary and Abdelkader do the same thing virtually every time they cross the blue line. Nyquist is creative, fast, and can dangle. Jarnkrok is supposed to be pretty fast also and one hell of a 2-way fwd that plays a Z like style and Tatar is a skilled gritty forward that's twice as fast as Hudler. So yes, I'd rather see a young potential scoring line get a shot and some real ice time over the usual 3rd line of plugs we've been frustrated with for a few years that's a few years older. And at Drake Marcus, I really hope you weren't referring to me as a troll cause I give in depth detail to any post I make that is questioned and am far from a troll. There's my argument for a young trio that could probably put up 50 pts each on the 3rd line and make your beloved Hudler obsolete. Later. I see Z also has that problem at 5"11. and Briere and St. Louis are getting killed too at 5"8... And those guys play in adult leagues, not Jr. They haven't been getting eaten alive at all. They're all actually doing quite well.

They should both go back to Russia. If you make millions (almost for Radulov) then be professional and follow team rules. they should both be fined by the team too. Radulov is garbage and should never have been allowed to come back to the NHL the way he did. The league needs to address that, and the bulls*** that they most likely got into.

i don't know about Nick, but it wouldn't make sense for Kenny to say, hey Nick, we're going with the same crew that sucked s*** last year in the playoffs and got bounced in 5 games... I would expect Nick to hang them up with that idea. If you insert Parise, Suter and a guy like Prust, or get Jarnkrok on the team along with Smith full time and get some much needed youth in the line up it SHOULD make the team much more appealing to sign with. Lids needs to be motivated into playing, not bored into retirement. Scrap Prust and insert Jarnkrok with not signing a few guys and you could have a pretty solid lineup... Parise-Dats-Franzen Flip-Z-Gus Bert-Jarnkrok-Cleary Abby-Helm-Miller Mursak Lids-Suter Smith-Kronwall White-Ericsson Kindl Howie-McDonald That's a lot more exciting than the uninspired boring repetitive s*** we watched this year. aside from the home win streak, this season was a black mark on a dynasty.

I really hope it's correct. I really don't want to see the Wings become black listed by prospects in the draft not wanting to sign with the Wings cause their NHL career won't be starting for 4-6 years. Not exactly the NHL dream... I'd much rather see a 3rd line with Tatar-Jarnkrok-Nyquist than Cleary-Abdelkader-Bertuzzi. Anyone have anything against multiple rookies in the lineup that are NHL ready, take a good look at the Flyers, they're still playing hockey while the Wings players are getting surgery, golfing and looking at walkers. It's time to get younger and there's lots of good prospects in the system. Sheahan looked good aside from his double minor for high-sticking and Pulkkinen is a good player with a good shot as well. Joakim Andersson has good hustle and is big, so for all the people who want Gaustad, take a younger version for way less money. As for Jarnkrok, I heard before that he's supposed to have a Z like play style. Being right handed also helps... Doubtful that there's a spot cause Holland hasn't even cut ties with Homer yet, so I'm gonna shelf my hope for a year and then look back next offseason at a time where he should definitely make the team or the Wings organization doesn't deserve him.

Hudler got 50 points riding Z and Flip's coattails... time to cut the cord and see what other GM's think he's worth on the open market.

Z with Jarnkrok and Nyquist would make a pretty sweet Swedish Winged Wheel line.

Thanks, you pretty much answered for me and saved me a lot of typing. And to centcougar07, i'm on LGW and various other hockey sites for an average of 2 hours a day and I do a lot of research and not just on the Wings. I know my s*** too bud.

I hope Franzen is traded this summer. Make room for one of our prospects that actually wants to play for as said, the greatest franchise in sports, or free up a spot to sign Prust to play on the 3rd line.

And Minnesota has a good track record with prospects panning out? Is that why they make the playoffs EVERY year? If they have all these great prospects that are ready to go, why don't they get them in the lineup and make the playoffs? Nyquist/Smith are better now than any Wild prospect purely because they've already proven that they belong in the NHL and are good enough to play top 6/4 and produce. If I were Parise and Suter, I'd choose the team with the better track record and compete for the cup, not the playoffs.

I may have to cheer for Russia... Sorry Canada, but I cheer for the Wings first and then Canada.

I'm with Carman on this one. After watching the WJHC this past year as well our prospects are looking pretty good. We got that Backman kid on D with Sweden too that looked good.
