Z Winged Dangler

Paul McLean's moustache, and Lindy Ruff and to some extent Ken Hitchcock...cause the Wings are the benchmark for those teams. And by more with less, i'm interpreting as overachieving, not just being high in standings. Having Z and Dats dragged down with the goalie pulled in the last 2 mins of the game last night by Cleary and Homer made me pretty pissed with Babcock. toss out Nyquist and Filppula with Z and Dats....YOU'RE TRYING TO SCORE FOR f***'S SAKE!

geez...i didn't know franzen was back that is to say he's been fairly invisible. Z, Bert and Nyquist have been the best wings so far. our D has been the s***s and conklin is a lugnut.

We all know the horrific start that Z had to start the season...and we all know how much of a beast he's been lately. After his 4 point night, I wanted to know how many points he had since his first multi point game of the year. Here's some feel good stats for you number guys: Current totals: (As of 27 Mar 12) 76 games - 21 goals, 45 assists, 66 points, +16 Up until 19 Nov 11 18 games - 3 goals, 4 assists, 7 points, -1 20 Nov 11 on...after first multi-point game 58 games, 18 goals, 41 assists, 59 points, +17 For all those who feared Z was on a decline, he's playing as good as he ever has currently and he's looking pretty fired up going into the playoffs. Assuming the Wings take 4th in the West and with guys coming back from injuries, with a full line up the Wings will be very dangerous in the playoffs. Our D is playing better again after the s*** stretch and Z has been Dats like picking pockets and has been nasty on the forecheck stealing the puck off guys. Assuming we get Helm back in or around the first round, I think the Wings have a shot as much as anyone.

If the playoffs start as the standings are currently, if the top 4 teams in the east move on to the 2nd round, the Penguins potential opponents in the east are the Flyers, Rangers, and if they make it past those 2, the ECF would be Pens/Bruins. If they win the cup, they'll certainly have to earn their way against the 3 toughest (physically and skilled) teams the east has to offer. here's hoping that the Flyers beat the piss out of them and win or they soften them up for the Rangers/Bruins.

i was behind Z the whole time...hence the thread. now if he could just get better at faceoffs he'd be pretty much unstoppable. can't wait for the playoffs to start and hopefully Z plays himself into Conn Smythe contention. would be nice to watch the wings play in june again.

and they pumped the caps last night. since my 2nd favourite team, the Jets are out of the picture, go sabres. i like their team a lot and i hate the caps aside from a few players.

there's an insane amount of Jets schwag around these days. all the Jets licence plates are almost sold out too. i think they've sold in or around 50000-100000.

i'm liking the sound of that. Babcock shuffled the lines around quite a bit last game against CBJ. Z - Dats - Homer played together for a bit too. Bert - Hudler - Flip was also a highly effective line when together. I think Nyquist could be a good fit with Franzen. Even if the Wings had 3 scoring lines and a grind line it could work.

if the Wings play in the playoffs the way they did last night against the Jackets, they'll have a shot at winning the cup. and yes, SJ is up in 3rd now and will hopefully get tossed by the 6th place team if they stay there. i'd personally like to see dallas get back up there and if SJ makes the playoffs, they can struggle in the bottom 4. it would be sweet to see the Sharts finish 9th, 1 point back...just a cynical thought.

As much as i'd like to see the Wings catch the Blues, they will have to win the rest of their games cause the Blues are rippin it up. Wings will win the home and home with Columbus and then beat the Preds and they will finish 4th 6 points ahead of the Preds.

Miller has played centre on occasion i believe and has played well, so he could fill that role. Homer should be in the press box cause in a limited role, Mursak is more effective. He doesn't give the puck away and he's WAY faster on the backcheck and forecheck.

with a home and home against the blue jackets today and wednesday and then taking nashville head on on friday...the wings have every chance to pound columbus and take a 4 point game against the preds and roll their way into 4th place. this week will be huge for them if they win all 3 games, and i personally think if they take all 3, they'll end up snagging 4th.

and his right handed shot with a cannon one-timer and his grit... i'd love for eaves to make it back for the last stretch of games.

Gotcha. I definitely understand. Just making sure you don't just hate Canada for some reason, but seeing as you're Canadian, no worries there... I loathe the Canucks as many know by now. The Leafs...Laughs...nuff said. I don't like the Habs, they are smut. I'm neutral on the Sens and Flames...i have a Spezza and an Iginla shirt, that's about it. I do like the current oilers team, not that '06 crap with "Prongs". I'm from Winnipeg and the Jets have this city pretty much out of control. Our fanbase is insane and gladly not douchey yet. Hopefully it stays that way, cause we love having a team back here and our team is a hard working bunch that deserves the 8th spot above the Caps for sure.

Maybe the refs don't like the Canucks anymore... Maybe the refs in last years playoffs took it easy on Marchand cause the Canucks should have had 45 diving penalties in the first 5 games... Maybe the Canucks are finally getting the reputation they deserve. Karma is a *****.

if you go on tsn.ca and look in Crosby's player profile, his picture screams child molestor...but he has 21 points in 13 games and is +15 so yes he's quite the little player. now if we could only wipe that smug look off his face and the dirt stache off his pictures...

someone give this dude some +'s...i'm not even half way through my coffee and i hit the wrong button like a derp... i agree 100%, i hate the canucks so much it's actually cynical. that chicago fan's post from TLow was great! aside from them also as the front runner for not winning, i'd say the Pens, Sharts, Caps, and Montreal. i would very much like to live long enough to see the Wings pass them for stanley cup wins. and they'll do it without getting first dibs at all the french canadians for what? 50 years? the teams i'd rather win the cup on the other hand are the Wings of couse, also the Bruins, Blues would be cool, i do like the Hawks and either the Jets or the Sabres as a long shot for whoever knocks the Caps out of 8th.

i was thinking the same thing the last couple days...dallas would be a much more desirable opponenet than nashville. let the hawks take out nashville and come out beat up. i'll definitely be chearing for the preds tonight when they play the s***birds, as i was also hoping the rangers would get at least a point last night to stay ahead of the pens. hoping the Jets beat the caps tomorrow too and either the jets (preferably) or the sabres make it to 8th. rather watch a team with some heart and grit in the playoffs than the caps. i sorta feel bad for Ovie cause he busts his ass and the rest of his team aside from Backstrom, Alzner and Brouwer are pretty lame.
