Welcome back to a league with hitting and a faster pace... NHL is a completely different and much larger beast than the KHL. All i can say for Radulov is to keep his head up cause he can't skate around with it down as much in the NHL.

good job elaborating on why there hockeymom... way to add to the conversation with a reasonable explanation as to why you think my post about one of the worst players in the NHL is Bottom line, you shouldn't have a guy playing on the top 2 lines just because he doesn't bring anything to the table on the bottom 6. It would be much more effective to keep Nyquist up and maybe bring Tatar and toss Andersson on the 4th line to add the grit that everyone wanted from a guy like Sami Pahlsson. Homer's "good" days are behind him and as said by many, the Wings loyalty to some players that are way over the hill is costing the team in the long run. keep them for their career, but know when their career is at an end.

I said it as more of a gag toward the Wings right now in that if they keep getting injured at the rate they're going, we're gonna see a lot more Griffins up and maybe some new faces we haven't seen yet.

A la Nyquist last year. I like. With the Wings dropping like flies and their D game in the s***ter lately and seeing as they hit about as much as girls ringette these days, it's not a far stretch to see him play a couple games with the big club. May as well sign a few more guys to make sure the Wings/Griffins and Griffins/Entry levels can actually ice full rosters in the playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing with a Z-Dats-Flip line which would be insane at this point as they're all playing really good, but then we have Helm at centre, but he's injured...Abby can play centre if needed, Hudler and Franzen used to be centre, but both lack speed and really i'd probably puke if i saw either play centre these days. Maybe Miller can move over, but with the top 3 centremen all on 1 line, even with Z and Flip normally playing together, it depletes the Wings down the middle. Nyquist could probably learn centre pretty quick, but leave that for after the Wings try to get back to 4th place.

I've also said this countless times. Guys like Nyquist should be top 6 or call up a player type you need to plug the bottom lines. Look no further than Leino...the guy looked promising and got s*** minutes in the bottom 6 with non-offensive line mates and was a bust here and I blame Babcock 100% for misusing a really good PLAYMAKER! He goes to the Flyers and is one of the MVP's on the Flyers cup run after finishing the reg season really strong. And yes, Wings D is terrible right now. The Wings forwards should recognize this too though and backcheck like they're getting NHL salaries, not paying to play in beer leagues.

Personally, I'd really like to see a 4th line next year of Abelkader with Riley Sheahan and Joakim Andersson...but that's just me. I'd also like to see Homer retire and have Cleary join figure skating cause all the clips of him falling would finally be entertaining. Nyquist should stay up for sure and if the Wings sign any skilled player in the offseason that's not already in the system like Jarnkrok, i'd like to see Parise cause he would actually compliment the top 6. I don't much care at this point if Hudler re-signs. I'd like to see the following forward lines: Parise - Datsyuk - Franzen Filppula - Zetterberg - Nyquist Bertuzzi - Helm - Eaves Andersson - Sheahan - Abdelkader Mursak Looks a lot better than what's currently going on. Won't happen cause Cleary will be here and Huds may re-sign, but it's nice to look at and it would fit way under the cap.

Homer is the most useless player in the NHL. If you're going to reunite Dats and Z, put Nyquist on the line. Don't anchor it down with a guy that can't keep up and that can't even deflect the puck in front of the net anymore. Homer needs to hang em up and i hope he spends all of the playoffs in the press box. if not Nyquist, then put bert or Abdelkader on the line. One last time so it sinks in, Homer sucks. the Wings can have a press box line of Homer, Cleary and Franzenfloat

actually it's time to put homer in the press box cause he brings nothing to the table in todays NHL. Z, Dats, Nyquist if you don't want to overload one line with Flip and have no centres left.

if Holland re-signs Homer in the offseason, i officially give up on the Wings until a change to the team occurs.

well....they certainly are earning a road trip to start the playoffs. f***! thanks for helping the Jets get these s*** heads out of the playoffs too. i'm grumpy.

another awesome play by Homer...stupid penalty makes ya even more pissed considering he doesn't bring anything whatsoever to the table anymore. great start for the boys...

well said. the Pens can run into a cyborg goalie with massive shoulder pads and no five hole in the first round and get swept even though they may be a "superior team"... Personally, I hope they play the Flyers and get swept in the 1st round. I'd also love to see the Canucks, Coyotes and Sharks depart in the 1st round as well and then i'm pretty much good with who wins the cup.

If Gary has his way the Pens will be pencilled in for sure. After all, Crosby is his favourite player... I don't think in any way that the Pens are the best team in the NHL. I would still put a HEALTHY Wings team ahead of them as well as a Bruins team that doesn't take a month off. The Pens won 11 in a row and are still in 4th in the East and not topping their division. They've been really good in that stretch, but don't forget they were 7th or 8th before their run started. Playoffs are fun for parody...

so get Nyquist and Abbott playing together and add in a guy like Riley Sheahan when he's ready to join the Wings. in the meantime, put Abdelkader on the line. there's also Joakim Andersson who's a big body that i personally think is ready to join the Wings.

one of the main reasons the PP is so terrible is cause of the constant giveaways on each unit by Homer and Cleary. They are both somewhat weak at carrying the puck through any traffic whatsoever and end up blindly throwing the puck away and unfortunately 8 out of 10 times it goes directly to the other team. another point on Homer is his lack of points. if he's not producing anything in what?...20 games? then get him off the PP and move Hudler up to forward. atleast Huds can one-time the puck. Homer needs to hang out in the press box. and keep Nyquist up and maybe toss him on the PP with Dats and Mule when Dats is back.

i still to this day do not understand why Adam Oates was traded away, but if the Wings made the playoffs that year, then the course of history may have changed and the picks to come may have been different and they may not have got Lidstrom and Federov... not sure if it mentioned that later in the article, but i got bored reading over and over, "we made a trade"... i wish like hell the Wings kept Oates, but s*** happens. look at the Wings since losing Oates...4 Cups. kinda hard to diss a team that competes for the cup every year and has won it numerous times.

good on ya bud. i live in Winnipeg and was in Tim Hortons getting a coffee this morning on the way to work and everyone in line was talking about the Jets and complaining those dicks from Montreal couldn't do us any favours and beat the Sabres....we're battling for 8th and the whole city has been going apes*** since we got the Jets back. there was apparently a Jets practice yesterday ending as i was getting to the MTS Iceplex to play hockey and there was a few hundred people filing out the door after watching a Jets practice. As far as i'm concerned, do anything you can to support your team. There's not a better team in the NHL right now hands down, and they're only gonna get better as they just signed Jaden Schwartz to an entry level and he's making his debut next game i think. And anyone who doesn't know about Schwartz, he's alot like Brad Marchand minus the bird face and not as chippy. The current Blues team may be better than the team back in the day that had Hull and Oates.

i love it....especially the part where a star player like Giroux pays his respects to Dats. Classy on Giroux's part and now i like him even more.

I love the guy, clearly....but he stinks lately on faceoffs. i don't know if it's cause he's hurting, but he's not battling much on the draws. anyone else notice this? maybe it's time for Flip to start taking draws and then criss-cross back centre to wing..? not much to do about his scoring touch directly, but if he'd win more than 30-40% of his draws, he'd probably benefit with a few extra assists.
