as much as i would like to see Stuart for a lenghty playoff run, we have Quincey back and have Smith who is NHL ready so i'm thinking that this would be a pretty ok trade where both teams benefit. Selanne would open so much potential in the top 6...

Nash hustles more and HITS THE NET! For all those who minus this cause Franzen's currently leading the team with 23 goals i think, if he would hit the net with even 20% of his shots he'd be at about 35 right now.

Except Jimmy had NO rust last night and kept Detroit in a game they clearly didn't want to win very bad. Cleary had rust but yes, he does hustle. One of the main complaints with Cleary is he's incredibly predictable every time he enters the offensive zone which makes him easy to defend against and leads to a LOT of giveaways. On a side note, Cleary should have the same charity as Scotty Hartnell, where he donates $1000 everytime he gets knocked down or falls down, cause Cleary has issues staying on his feet. Nyquist would be better on the team than a lot of the guys that are on the roster. He needs to get some playing time with the Wings as well as Tatar before we lose them like Quincey and others that rot in GR too long.

to sum this up, semin = kovalev. he can take his heartless lazy play the f*** back to russia after this season and the NHL will be better without him. if the Wings make any moves I thing it should be to rent Selanne for the playoffs. since he will be UFA at seasons end, Anaheim could sign him back if he decides to give it another go, or they will allow Selanne to have 1 more shot at the cup with a serious contender and hang em up and they gain whatever they get from the Wings, be it Kindl or draft picks, they will have something to show for a trade.

My favorite goalies are Lundqvist followed by Howard.....so i'm all for Lundqvist taking home the Vezina. he deserves it big time. without his ridiculous goaltending the Rangers are not 1st/2nd overall in the league rotating with the Wings. He's the best goalie in the game right now hands down. I mean, unless anyone wants to throw Luongo's name in the mix

By the Wings.... If this had have been the Penguins or Canucks, the story would have been way bigger and would have been the main story on TSN.ca, not 2/3 of the way down the page as an appendix to the rest of the night in the NHL. Wings should just keep rolling and get over 30 wins and then all the haters can eat crow and then start whining when Norris Nick wins his trophy again this year.

i can't wait for Mrazek to come up and have the Howard/Mrazek combo. until then, the only deal that would make sense would be to offer up something to the islanders for Nabby. i can only imagine that if the wings don't get him at the deadline, he'll sign in the offseason anyways, so the isles may as well cut their losses.

nuff said...that's an attestement to Z's leadership having both of his linemates having career years. and flip was playing with Z last year before and during the playoffs when he started to really turn his game up. trading Z would be useless cause the only forward in the NHL that's all around better than Hank is Dats at this point. wait until the playoffs when Z goes into an unknown gear and everyone on here starts the "Z playoff beast appreciation" thread...

and maybe Babcock is getting Z to be more of a shutdown guy as opposed to sniper. the Z-Flip-Huds line is producing and we should be glad that Z isn't carrying the whole load. lets see, the Sedins in a total of 65 mins of regulation and OT combined for 1 assist last night and got split up in the 3rd period. i for one would guess that Z shut down 1 and Dats the other. seems like the Winged Wheel is rolling along fine.

Z - Flip - Huds line is playing great...sometimes you just don't get any bounces. Z needs to go on a nice conditioning stint in the offseason that's for sure and at the same time work his shooting back up to what it was, but back injuries f*** your s*** up and it's hard to get back to it afterwards. look at jagr when he had his groin injuries...

i don't get why everyone on here thinks that Nyquist and Smith are going anywhere...they're the next 2 big Wings that will be lifers on this team, mark my words. Tatar is far more expendable than Nyquist and no ******* way in hell we get rid of Smith, a guy with Shea Weber like potential for anyone whose actually wathched the kid play hockey. the future wings prospects that should not EVER be moved cause of their potential upside are Nyquist, Smith, Jurco, Sheahan, Pulkkinen, IronHook, Andersson and Mrazek. the rest are free game, but if you guys think that the wings should let filppula go (whose been having a career year and just getting better), Nyquist and Smith (the 2 best players on the Griffins) and a 1st for a guy that's having his worst career year with 51 games, 17 goals, 16 assists, 33 pts, -23 rating....than you're a complete idiot! we rag on Z everyday and he's got 35 points and is a + player! and BTW, flip is tied for 2nd on the team with 41 pts and +14 rating. do i want Nash on the Wings? hell yeah. what is he currently worth? max: 2012 1st round pick, Tatar and Almqvist anything more than that or offering a prospect that is potentially future star material...no dice.

cleary is a very hard worker and has upsides, like beign a good 2 way forward, BUT, he is very predictable every time he enters the offensive zone with his weak angled shot at the goalie's logo or the curl back and a mostly blind saucer pass and he falls A LOT! would i rather have mursak in the line up? yes. but at the same time, does cleary turn it up in the post season and have experience that is required to winn lord stanley's cup? yes. i'm at a crossroad on this one...

time for the oilers to have another shootout tomorrow. i predict a 7-6 wings win on HNIC!

i like all the ideas you mentioned. i would add on the topic of taking out the trapezoid, if a goalie leaves the crease to play the puck he should essentially become a 3rd dman that can be hit. then you won't have goalies thinking they're untouchable and turning their back to play the puck and try to draw a penalty. i think the lucic hit on miller was great and that's what should happen when a goalie's 30 ft out of his net. i love the fire/rehire/fire again for bettman...that's good s***! and as much as i love shanny, he's s***ting the bed with some of his BS suspensions. i guess he had to be hard on Smith cause he's a former Wing and can't show bias, but that was a pathetic suspension call, let alone giving 5 games for it. i really wish the NHL actually could make the rinks bigger but the owners would unfortunately never sign off on spending millions to do the construction. as long as they get their revenue, most owners don't care about making the game more wide open and safe, they care about the first 2-3 rows of seats they would lose...

Being without the Jets for 16 years, all Winnipegers have their own hated teams... me being a lifelong Wings fan, as well as Boston and Chicago, i thoroughly despise Vancouver, Pittsburgh, San Jose and Phoenix. So to take my agression out on these teams in a healthy manner, i do the following: In NHL 12, i go in GM mode and "replace teams"... i swap the all star teams in place of the other teams in the central division and then swap them out for those 4 teams thus making it so i get to play the teams i have 8 times per year instead of teams i like such as chicago and st. louis. i'll be honest, i put the hitting to 99 for kronner, stuart, ericsson, kindl, abby, franzen and the speed as well for helm...so i hit the guys like Kesler and the sisters pretty hard. i find this is a healthy outlet for my hatred/rivalry. if i had to pick 1 team though, i'd have to say Vancouver as we had to suffer with having our only pro hockey team the past long time be the moose, who were the canucks farm team and we had to watch guys like bieksa and kesler mould into the supreme douchenozzles that you all see today... god i hate the cauncks!

I would personally very much like to see Datsyuk centre Seguin and Eberle. that line would be exciting. either that or have dats with gaborik and hossa. that line would be unstoppable. all things considered, it would be funny if dats was on a line with perry...just sayin'

no way in hell the wings trade nyquist or smith. they're the next 2 stars for the wings. kindl is playing pretty good but is expendable. and flip is having his breakout year. if he'd shoot more he'd be a point per game. i'd rather see tatar go than nyquist. the wings are having a log jam of nearly NHL ready players agian with Jarnkrok, Nyquist, Tatar, Pulkkinen and Andersson all getting close and Ferraro getting back on track in GR looking like he'll be a good 3rd/4th line guy. i think one of the things the wings need to do is quit being passive and keeping guys like homer and cleary on the roster when there's guys that could make more of a splash like nyquist playing on a scoring line or injecting a s*** disturber with energy like mitchell callahan to piss off the other teams stars. the wings need to not waste guys like quincey and fleischmann again and again by bringing in more guys at the deadline. if a bonafide star is available for not a huge hit to the wings core, then yes make a move at the deadline, but don't deal guys like smith or nyquist.

Smith for sure. Commodore is the 7th dman. Smith is the only replacement for Stuart that may have an upside. Trade Stuart for a fwd that SHOOTS! franzen and Z shoot a lot, but not all shots are of a high quality. as for Stuart being replaced by smith...smith is seemingly just as tough and he's got better offensive potential. can't wait to see him on the wings full time, unfortunately at the possible expense of stuart and a possible departure of lids in the offseason even though the world thinks he can play 5 more seasons... just thought of this... WHEN anaheim misses the playoffs and knows it by the deadline, the wings could trade stuart for selanne. smith comes up and plays in place of stuart and selanne goes on the second line with Z and flip.

why is everyone giving you minuses? marchand is short, salo is tall, and yes, salo was gonna try to hit marchand high so he took the low road. he only got suspended cause salo got a concussion. if ALL of the canucks weren't such assholes, people wouldn't go after them like they do. hasn't anyone heard lately that no one in the league has any respect for the ****** bag canucks team? they're dirty, yet they dive like no team you've ever seen. the canucks are a mockery to the NHL.
