too hard to pick as clearly, i'm a big Z fan, but he and Dats are my 2 favorites and it's hard to pick one, so i'll agree with Electrophile and can holland for his misuse of the cap.

right beside crosby's stick in all sports stores is Datsyuk's reebok stick...where is Datsyuk's publicity?? I'll chime in on a solid fact from even non-Wings fans...DATSYUK IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NHL! it's not all about getting points, it's about being a complete player. Datsyuk does all this and still does things with the puck that the rest of the world can't even do in their dreams. personally, i like crosby (minus the whining and his pathetic stache), but i hate the penguins more than any other team ever. and the whole thing with his concussion s***, he could have come back and played last year in the playoffs, but the pens organization milked the whole thing and they knew that without malkin and the fact that they have a s***ty supporting cast, there was no point in bringing crosby back, they just wanted to use crosby for publicity of head shots......1 thing they didn't think of is that the hits on crosby weren't that bad. the steckel hit, steckel just braced himself at the last second when he caught crosby out of the corner of his eye. mr. entitled wasn't paying attention at all and it resulted in him hitting the ice. the other hit from hedman, hedman didn't do anything dirty, he braced crosby and guided him into the boards and didn't even do it very hard. i'm not even sure how he got hurt on the play, and yes i watcehd it alot of times wondering how cause i've been taken into the boards the exact same way 100 times and never got hurt once. there's alot of guys that have been hit way harder than that and alot more blindsided and are perfectly fine. even hudler is playing hockey of some sort, well, atleast entering the ice surface, we don't know what exactly the f*** he does when he's on the ice, but after the hit he took in the playoffs that was blindsided, i think from joe thornton if i'm not mistaken, he was back pretty quick, and he's a puny whimp. point is, crosby is milking it, as are the pens, and the masterson is a joke if he gets it this coming year. i'd rather it go to jagr or yashin, and it burnt my fingers typing that garb.

Parise was used as nothing more than an example. The main point is that San Jose lost players to get players, and that the players they got are not of the best of health...Burns and Havlat. I'd rather have Kenny make smart low budget moves that improve the team and give solidarity than have him blow the wad and overpay for guys who may not be around when you need them most. smart GM's build winners and dynasties. trigger happy crap shooters for GM's have a few stars with less supporting cast and can't roll 4 lines to make it to the SCF for a real shot. remember the last team a 45 year old Claude the turtle Lemieux played for?? Crap shoot signing... Burns and Havlat won't take the Sharks to the next level when they lose Heatley and as much as I hate him, Setoguchi, as well as the Wings signing White. Personally, I think the Wings are currently a better team and will meet the Sharks in the playoffs again and the Wings will win. White and Commodore aren't injury prone like the Sharts signings. The Wings will stay healthier this year and will outlast their opponents.

And now for my predictions... - Darren Helm scores 20 goals and 45 points on the 3rd line and gets nomiated for the Selke. - Datsyuk gets 101 points with 30+ goals. - Z scores 40 goals and tops 90 pts. - Howard controls rebounds this year and his GAA drops under 2.00 and he gets nominated for the Vezina and wins the Jennings. - Lids wins the Norris with a landslide vote and retires on top with the Conn Smythe and Ol' Stanley. - Hudler gets waived to make room for Tatar. - Franzen learns how to hustle for 60 mins and scores 40 goals - Flip gets 20g, 40a playing with franzen and Bertuzzi all season. - Commodore grows a playoff afro and dies it Wings Red. - Kronwall steps up and replaces Rafalski no prob. - Homer plays on the 4th line all year and 1st PP. - Nyquist wins MVP in the AHL and Smith takes Dman honours. Both take the jump for the following year after departures of Homer and ....cringing...Lids...I'm assuming the Wings win the Cup. Some may be bold, but if the Wings stay healthy this year, i think they look good. And White will fit perfectly with the Wings. 40 pts for sure.

carcillo is a career 4th line mouthpiece. i wish he stayed in philly with pronger and jagr. i like chicago and he's gonna be in the box for stupid s*** all year with the green guys making fun of his porn stache. lapierre is a ****** though as is torres. don't know much about glass, but he's coming to Winnipeg so maybe i'll see him play if i can actually get a ticket.

i like what kenny holland did this summer. he picked up a solid puck moving dman in white and a big body dman in commodore who won a cup with the canes and the wings still have cap space for the deadline. he didn't blow the wad on trying to get a concussion prone burns. the sharks are in desperation mode cause they choke every year and are without a cup so they have to take wild stabs to try and be the team to "get the big player" while the wings make a couple good acquisitions and still have great team chemistry and people are choked about every free agent we didn't acquire... what happens if kenny signs burns who may get injured anyways, and he's right up against the cap and lets say zach parise becomes available at the deadline...getting him would catapult the wings over the sharks right to the cup. kenny's patience gets new wings signed at respectable cap hits. and conklin is back for cheap too. as well, rafalski has been injured for the past 3 seasons. everytime someone comes in on him with a forcheck and a hard hit is laid on him, he gets more hurt. rafs was a limping old dog and he made the right decision by retiring and spending time with his family before his health is gone and he can't run and play with his kids and s***. ozzy and drapes had great careers, but it was their time. they're all replacable and smith and tatar need to make the wings this year. the sharks won't be that hard to beat. havlat and burns will get injured and they'll have to rely on marleau and thornton who will be outshined by couture when they slump from pressure.

howard played good last year, but he had some really s***ty games often during the season which explains his crap GAA last year. if conklin plays really good this year and steals the "#1" spot, so be it. if howard stays on his feet when he needs to...setoguchi's goal in game 7, and starts controlling rebounds properly, he will have no problem remaining as the #1 guy. ps...luongo is a choke artist and even nucks fans concede this fact now. go bruins!

finally an article that doesn't state that hockey armageddon is coming to destroy motowns dynasty... every non-wings fan thinks they're f***ed. it's good to see that someone finally did their homework before trash talking the wings. the wings are fine for the years to come...just look at all the prospects and you know they'll be fine. and holland fills the holes needed through free agency and doesn't overpay players so he can build winners.

if Weber gets a number that the Preds won't give him....I don't care what it is, i hope the Wings give him an offer. 4.5 is insulting. the guy was just runner up for the Norris!

Personally I like it, but then again I'm from Winnipeg and I'm in the Air Force....so I may be biased toward liking it. I have a couple buddies and even the wife that say it's too military and they don't like it. I then told them that the Jet is the National Defence aircraft of the Canadian Forces and our team is the Jets....how much more Air Force can a name be?? The owners stated that they were going to remake the symbol and jerseys when they agreed to leave the team as the Jets. I told the people who don't like the new logos, if you didn't want the prospect of a military like symbol, then you shouldn't have voted to keep the name "Jets" when you knew we wouldn't be the same Jets of old. Though the circle symbol could use Winnipeg Jets or even just Jets in it to slightly spice it up and give it the identity of the Jets and not just a remake of the Air Force logo with a Jet in it. Aside from that, I like all 3 and will buy all 3 jerseys when I get a chance to and the money to do so.

Now that the season is over, is there a chance that Holland will try to get Nabokov to sign and put pressure on Howard to not have s***ty games too often?? I'm not sure what would have to happen for him to come to the Wings, but if there's a chance of it happening it may be a good idea. Thoughts?

and he can play the PP... and now we have more than one right handed defenceman for the first time in a decade or so... and yes, this is a good price and leafs fans were choked to see him leave cause he was one of the only dmen that earned his paycheck in TO. good signing as far as i'm concerned. and we don't need to replace rafalski, we need grit (commodore) and puck moving (white) so good job by holland. now dump hudler and i'm happy. and another big plus is that he has a style that'll fit in with the wings pretty easy i think. but that's just my opinion.

i wish kindl was playing in place of salei. i just got internet in my building yesterday, so i haven't been able to ***** about him and the soft goals howard let in each game. thank god howie's playing good tonight. the wings are not skating hard at all tonight and the refs aren't calling ANY of the sharks holding penalties but they called dats earlier. sharks/wings series' really bring out the worst in NHL officiating.

He comes back game 1 against the Wings next victim. hopefully Babcock puts him on Dats' wing so he can get some momentum playing with his euro twin and do a little less skating at wing on his sore leg. less is more for Z on this one. and the way Pav is playing, i'd add Z to his line and they'd be unstoppable. the other lines are playing great anyways.

the coyotes cowardice doesn't even stop at taking cheap shots at Lids...that ******* jovo keeps taking shots at guys and then chirping through his birdcage like a little *****. and then there's doan again giving Franzen a good facewash and taking shots at him right after getting 23 stitches. yotes have no class. if they come back to Winnipeg, i refuse to cheer for them until a good chunk of their players are gone. Turris and Yandle are good, maybe Hanzal a bit, but other than that....take a hike and draft some players. i hate the coyotes.

Detroit goes up 4-0 and the refs start making up penalties and only give Franzen a penalty when the Yotes player retaliated...and it was a pretty tame cross-check to begin with by Franzen. i still don't know what Bertuzzi got a penalty for, and neither do the color guys. officiating this year again = epic fail

good on you MajSheppard. i support this thread 100%. someone should email dave hodge at TSN and tell him to do a segment on traditions in the NHL being cast aside by Gary Bettman and his lackeys. maybe i'll do that...he already read one of my emails on tv about why Vancouver won't win the cup, so i'll try my luck with sparking his interest.
