why should he get 10 or more games? his hit was less from behind than the hit clutterbuck threw before his hit. if gillies gets suspended, then clutterbuck should get the same punishment. and if it goes by law of average from colin campbell, with soft suspensions for much worse hits by matt cooke then he gets max 4 games. or as far as hits from behind go, look back to max talbot and brooks orpik and he gets 0 games.

how does howard get 2.something mil per year and niemi gets 3.8? THEY'RE THE SAME ******* GOALIE!!! overpaid by about 1 mil per season. this is why the sharks are perennial chokers. they overpay and lack depth. what's gonna happen when they have to re-sign couture? lol at san jose's misfortune. so who gets traded next off season...thornton, marleau, heatley or boyle? or does niemi go to europe or the AHL?

i agree with both Z for the C and Kronwall gets an A. though i'd like to add in that the Wings usually roll 3 A's and if this continues, Helm gets the 3rd A in my opinion. he's earned it. either him or cleary. but on topic, Z has already been named the heir for captain if i'm not mistaken.

not to mention the fact that if keith didn't have seabrook on the point with him last year keith doesn't sniff norris candidate let alone win it. all the hawks games i've seen this year, they've been separated and seabrook has been far and away the hawks best dman. keith has been marginal this year and without playing with seabrook so much his point production has gone down. if seabrook had more points last year instead of playing immaculate defensive defence so keith could take the amount of chances he did to get points, seabrooks name would have been on the norris. i've said it numerous times...the only guys in the NHL that i would want to take Lidstroms spot when he retires is in order 1 - Chara, 2 - Weber, 3 - Seabrook and before signing the 5 year deal with CHI, Seabrook was the only realistic option (thru RFA of course). too bad.

above bolded statement pretty much sums up abdelkader this year. draper looks like he wants to be out there. abby looks like he's kind of taking his spot on the wings for granted, which usually ends up with guys not being wings for more than a season or two. hopefully abdelkader picks up his game.

this is more or less what i said in another post about hudler. he was baggage for the first 30ish games and then remembered how to play NHL hockey again. the real test for hudler though is to be useful in the playoffs. his disappearing act in 2009 was epic and will hopefully not happen again this year. he's playing good, but still has alot to improve. he's 27 and has 1 good season under his belt. hopefully his near point a game pace continues and he proves he's a valuable part of this organization.

because he never led the B's to a stanley cup...he defected to the avalanche and was second in line to joe sakic, who yes, belongs in the top 5. he only led the avs to what? 2 cups...one less than all our hero, Steve Yzerman. in his short tenure, i'd put lidstrom ahead of bourque. he lost the longest tenured captain and greatest captain the NHL has seen and won the cup his first year as the wings captain. we'll all see when he's gone the calming influence he has on the team.

this post is good enough to be published! can't agree more. and where was "Super Mario's" opinion when cooke and talbot were cheapshotting other teams players. it happens every game. i love how the media blows things out of proportion because a former NHL superstar has an opinion, no matter how biased. he's part owner of the Penguins for christ's sake.....of course he's gonna whimper and poop his pants over getting wrecked by the islanders in a physical way like that and on the scoreboard. newsflash Mario...something like this needed to happen to the pens to put a spotlight on them in a way of redemption for other teams. the penguins get away with murder and cry to the media when it builds up with other teams and bites them in the ass. cooke and talbot got a taste of their own medicine finally.

hudler was pretty much useless for the first 35-40 games of the season but lately he's been really good. hopefully he keeps it up. with him playing really good with dats and cleary it makes it an easy decision for babcock to keep Z and dats apart.

hudler and bertuzzi are having really good games so far. 2 guys we like to rag on alot, so it's good to see them playing the way they are today.

ya they just said "could be done for the season" but that's right after they said early March is the earliest he'll be back. knowing Crosby, he'll be back early to mid march. that was a pretty messy looking hit from Steckel though. the Hedman hit was blown way out of proportion though. it didn't look that bad at all.

because he's a lazy floating piece of s***. he looks like jason voohries without the mask. he's like a spoiled rich kid that has never been punished in his life, ala the 09 finals where he should have had an automatic game suspension and had what?...2 PP goals the following game? his backchecking consists of hooking and lazily chopping at the puck carrier and gets away with it every time. he reminds me of robert lang with more puck skill. all that combined just make me hate him. i haven't liked him since he was on the russian world jr. team. you don't have a guy in the NHL that kinda just rubs you the wrong way?

malkin, cooke and pronger are my 3 most hated players in the NHL. i wish nothing good for any of them. crosby i feel bad for. savard i feel bad for. malkin, no. i laughed when pronger was injured earlier this year and if cooke gets injured i'll laugh WAY harder than any as i loathe him the most of all and have since he was a canuck. other than that, i wish no harm on anyone in the NHL, not even corey the fairy perry...

exactly. and the wings have a tendancy to take WAY too many shots from the outside. they're at their best when Dats and Z spread out in the offensive zone one in each faceoff circle and sizzle one timers and get the goalie moving. the wings take too many shots with the goalie ready and square. they need to put more emphasis on getting the goalie moving back and forth and getting teams chasing them. like when they smashed colorado in 4 games in the '08 cup run. lately they've looked like the team that lost to the ducks with shoulder pad fortress giggy and the lackluster effort against the oilers in '06. if Dats comes back tonight, him and Z combine for 7 points and the media's back on the red wagon.

+ more than 1! that would be pretty lethal not knowing which beast is gonna unleash the boomer from the point. i really hope the wings throw an offer sheet at weber. lids picked him first cause Mr. Norris himself knows that Weber belongs in Norris talks even without putting up 60 points. he's invaluable to Nashville, but for 2 1st rounders and a 2nd, Weber's definately worth it. the wings have a ton of really good prospects right now anyways.
