exactly. that's what i said before, just with a bit of a twist. the wings like to roll lines...all 3 D pairs can play 20 mins kronwall - stuart (keep those 2 together-chemistry) lids - kindl (teach the kid first hand how to play the game both ways) rafalski - ericsson (learn how to be the QB on the ice from raf) then everyone is fresh all year, and hopefully ericsson and kindl take their game to the next level that everyone wants them at from playing with lids and raf for a full season. maybe even rotate them between the 2 vets, but not play them together.

that would be a really interesting debate, seeing as the hawks had overwhelming top end talent that won them the cup. 4 really good lines. and they still have the likes of toews, kane, sharp, hossa...keith and seabrook. but they lost ALOT of their role players. do they still have a 4th line? their main concern should be signing a couple cheap players that can do what ladd, fraser, burish and madden could do. and buff and versteeg are going to be massive losses. anyone who doesn't think so needs to give their head a shake. and this is from a hawks fan (behind the Wings obviously). honest opinion...they're kinda f***ed. wings top central next season by a landslide. i would also like to publically thank Matt for helping me out with my name change. thanks bud. never for a second did i think it would be this bad. this is monumental!

well said. it's alot different for young players breaking into the NHL watching guys on the ice and actually playing on a line with the guy and getting into the plays with them.

i'm liking the look of this roster, but i'd work out a deal with yzerman sending draper to the bolts as he would be much more useful there for his last year or two and provide some much needed veteran leadership for tampa. i want ritola to get some ice time and prove the vast majority of LGW wrong about him.

i guess when the wings and hawks play in the stanley cup banner raising game, the 2 teams he played for can have a pt.2 of the ceremony. it would be as appropriate a time as any i would think.

also nyquist, andersson, smith, ferraro and almqvist may be good to go in 2-3 years. riley sheahan may be a 2-3 year project as well. the wings should only have to pick up 1-2 guys each year, if that. they're set for years to come.

i'm with you on this 100%. trade luongo to some retard team for a top 6 forward and then we'll talk about vancouver being the favorite. with the D the canucks have now, they don't need luongo ******* things up by letting in squeakers. though if you're the flames, and the best you can do july 1st is sign 2 guys that sucked the big one last stop over in your barn....the canucks are the team to beat i guess. there's 8 easy wins for the canucks next season. i'd rather have holland do what he did...nothing that is, than sign those 2 bums! if the canucks add a top 6 guy that can net a few, then they're money. if they were smart, they'd dump luongo for a 1st somewhere and sign kovy.

or the kings can let frolov go f*** himself for the money he's asking and sign kovalchuk for a couple mil more and get a PROVEN CONSISTANT 40-50 goal scorer instead of Mr. IDon't FeelLikePlayingTonight. And i sure don't want to see frolov playing on the wings. go underachieve in the KHL. as for the rest, i'd take kariya for 1 mil. if the wings had cap room, i'd be all over lombardi.

absolutely he could fit in the wings system. he's basically darren helm. if he was on a line with helm and abdelkader, he'd be right at home. he can put the puck in the net too. he was grossely misused in calgary, and it looked like nashville did the same thing. he came in the NHL with top 6 potential and it died in calgary just like everyone these days. i've watched this kid since he was in grade 9 at westwood collegiate in Winnipeg and seen him tear up kids older than him since then. he played pretty good on the WJC Canadian team too with 6 pts in 6 games, so he's got potential...he just needs a real team to guide him (and i've always kind of been a flames fan) a line of boyd - helm - abby would be fast as hell too. hard to play against.

i think kindl is going to surprise a lot of guys on here. him and ericsson will probably have some healthy competition as well and we'll see ericsson fix alot of last seasons flaws, as he was the s***s at most parts of the season. now that williams' uselessness is gone, ericsson should get some PP time and use that big shot of his. (once he works on a quicker release) as for lilja, i always liked him on the wings. he played his role. but if he wants a bigger role on a team that needs reliable dmen...have fun in edmonton andreas!

it is nice to have meech who can play defence and forward, but for his career, i hope he goes to atlanta or florida or something like that and play regular minutes with a team. he's earned it.

dats is the best fighter! no one challenges him, cause they know not what awaits. once it starts...there's no going back! the force is strong with that one. i'm gonna watch star wars tomorrow cause there's no hockey. BALLS! if i didn't have to work, i'd hibernate during not-hockey season. i think dats would catch a guy off guard and one-punch the dude.

i was born a wings fan. my dad has always been a wings fan and he named me after steve yzerman and mic jagger, so i always liked yzerman (dude's f***in awesome anyways) and probert when i was younger. i like the wings now as much as ever though. i have strong european descent in my family and i listen to ALOT of swedish metal, so having swedes dominate the wings locker room is ok for this canadian guy. the wings have always been the best team to watch for me. i like the style they play, and i guess a treat for me from the wings is drafting darren helm, a good winnipeg boy. and the wings greatness is not gonna stop anytime soon seeing as they have so many great prospects from all over the world, not just canada

most of the people who keep saying to trade ritola obviously havn't seen him play at all. and people should lay off flip too. give him a full year on the 2nd or 1st line. put ritola on a line with datsyuk and watch the danglefest unfold. ritola's got skill with the puck. i'd trade the rights to meech, but the panthers may want more than that with the 21st pick. they may take meech, 21st pick and someone like mcgrath or pare... the wings have lots they can throw at the panthers. i could see the panthers wanting someone like logan pyett.

TSN's mock draft has McIllrath going 17th to the Avs and Tinordi going 20th to the s*** birds. Mark Pysyk and his terrible stats and +/- on Edm of the WHL going 21st to the Wings. Nice try TSN... even if McIllrath is a hard hitting shutdown Dman with no more offensive upside than a hard shot and breakout pass, then he can play on a line in a few years with Almqvist or Smith...or the Wings can get Tinordi. this is all assuming the Wings trade up in the draft or no one takes one of them before the Wings get their pick.
