i definately would not! he's overrated. if he was in a wings jersey, his penalty totals would be at what they should be...about 15 minutes a game. his douchiness is unbearable. and red is not his colour.

i never mentioned ben eager...but i did throw andrew ladd in there. and for the same price tag, i'd definately take ladd.

a wings team that could trade cleary for a pick and sign andrew ladd (or adam burrish) is better than a wings team with cleary. cleary's best days are now behind him, and his hands are made of stone.

Frolov is going to the KHL Gonchar is on the downhill. the leg injury he had is killing him still and i'd rather have volchenkov. Zherdev is already in or going to the KHL isn't he? and he has zero drive and work ethic. so much skill, so little effort. Volchenkov is asking for too much for what he provides. defensive dman that blocks lots of shots that decently make the first pass out of the zone....may as well re-sign lilja for $1mil then. Volchenkov is probably going to the Caps anyways. their D is terrible.

that's exactly what gary bettman kept saying....and look where the league is now. i agree that maybe seattle should have a team, which would give the canucks a healthy rival, but like you said before Canada would support a franchise more than ever cause we're sick of losing them to places that make the team way worse off. aside from the avalanche.

legitimately name me one player in the history of the NHL with a statement of how they are more of a ****** than pronger... can't think of one? that's what i thought. that's why most of us care if pronger wins the conn smythe, and the cup for that matter. he is a prick of epic proportions. i wish that the sens hadn't s*** the bed and beat the ducks when they won the cup. pronger would be pushing 40 with no cup.

agreed. he could play on a line with adam almqvist in a couple years. 5"10 meet 6"5...your new D partner. that would be cool to have brendan smith, adam almqvist and dylan mcilrath up around the same time. that kid's already like 235 pounds too i think at 17 years old!

you seem to be forgetting that lids is making over a mil less than last year and the cap is going up approx 2mil. 3 mil clears up space to sign or trade for a good player if the wings so desire. it won't be a dman. and where's a spot on fwd if holland gets a 4th line pain in the ass to play against? Z - dats - franzen - flip - huds - cleary - helm - abby - draper...9 already signed homer - bert - ritola - miller - eaves...5 more looking for spots (3 and a 13th fwd spot avail) i'm not even sure where this other fwd is gonna fit in the mix. homer, bert and ritola will most likely have spots and the wings damn well better sign eaves. there's 13 forwards. i'd like to see ritola get regular shifts and have 3 scoring fwd lines. and bert played good last year and holland wants to resign him. miller was good, but expendable. hopefully draper goes to TB. yzerman should put in a work request for cleary too. that'll clear things up a bit.

tsn said lids signed for $6mil, which is even better. and like i stated in the other thread, the cap is allegedly going up by $2mil...so holland effectively has $3.5mil more to play with. and without signing williams and maltby, there's a couple more mil shed. abby, kindl and ritola could all be full time wings next season, all cheap players. as far as the cap goes, the wings are in good shape. wait for maltby, draper and ozzy to be on tampa next year and the prospects get to show what they're made of.

and the cap is going up approx 2 mil. so the wings have atleast 3.5mil more to play with. there's a good dman right there. and abby's up full time next year for under a mil. and williams 1.5 mil is gone. the wings are in good shape with the cap raise and lids making 1.4 less than last year.

on top of that, watch that thoroughbred backcheck. i'd take him back on the wings...but i'd want it to be around $5mil. seeing as he's on a career duration contract at 6 or so per year, he's not coming back to detroit anytime soon if ever.

chicago needs to win the cup for 4 reasons. 1 - they're my 2nd favorite team behind the wings. 2 - so pronger doesn't lay his filthy hands on the cup again. 3 - so the leafs are the team with the longest stanley cup drought in the NHL 4 - so toews brings the cup to winnipeg who sorely needs something hockey related to cheer about.

yup. and if he signs for a number that effectively handcuffs holland from signing some help for when he does decide to retire...once again, no rejoicing. but in saying that, detroit is gonna be hard pressed on the back end when he hangs em' up.

Just looking at the playoff scoring leaders on TSN and noticed Joe Thornton and his classic underachieving and thought I'd share a laugh with you guys. exactly. and it's funny where injuries during the season place you come playoff time. philly is a better team than the penguins, and jersey only has parise, zajac and kovy. and boston would have lost to buffalo if they sabres were healthy. philly is built for the playoffs.

getzlaf is the best NHL power forward today. i hate the ducks, but he makes the team somewhat bearable. kids SHOULD have getz as a role model...even though cabbie beat him at beach hockey. you know for sure that pic was taken in chicago?

and stamkos is the 2nd closest player to the likes of steve yzerman. not comparing greatness, just the way it seems they model their game after him and have a likeness in demeanor. he's from winnipeg. that is what you do in winnipeg...and how is using a beer bong so unclassy? just makes it go down faster. dustin boyd is from winnipeg too, and i'll tell you first hand that kid can party pretty hard. doesn't change the way he carries himself as a person. and atleast toews didn't pass out from 1 beer bong like cindy would. his speech would then come out sounding like quebec french

that would be 100% acceptable. you know why? cause he's the closest thing in the NHL in every aspect to a former Wings great...Steve Yzerman. classy individual, plays the game the way it should be played and doesn't whine like a ***** everytime something goes the least bit wrong. that would be the best move the NHL could do.
