if those were the divisions, Winnipeg would be swapped with Seattle for sure. not sure if you got a map handy, but Winnipeg is a 12 hour drive from the likes of Edmonton and Calgary. While Vancouver and Seattle are within spitting distance, it wouldn't make any sense to have Winnipeg in a division with Dallas and Phoenix. maybe minnesota, but not the other 2.

bertuzzi is generally the bigbody in front of the net on the Z/flip PP line. as for the penalty kill, it may be even better next year when you have the same 3 guys (eaves, helm and miller) and the addition of abdeldader to play with helm. maybe maltby will hang 'em up after this season and the wings won't re-sign williams. as long as holland re-signs eaves and miller, i don't much care what he does with the rest of the cap money. i trust kenny.

i would definately watch that. and then for the Canadian fans the following year, have Toronto vs. Ottawa...and then my fellow countrymen can stop bitching about not getting a game here. i'd say calgary vs. edmonton, but the oil have already been in one too.

saw the griffins play last sunday against the moose. may was ok, nothing to get excited about. there were a bunch of fights in the game and they lost 3-0 and i don't think may fought, can't remember. the only griffins that were noteworthy in the game are abdelkader cause he's fast and a really good penalty killer, mattias ritola is pretty good, he can dangle pretty good...and kindle looks pretty good. his time in GR looks to be well spent. pyett also looks to be developing a mean streak for a little guy. other than that, jeremy williams was one of the best looking griffins in the game. he could possibly be a replacement for williams next year, but that's just my opinion.

we all know bert can grow a beard... i wanna see flips playoff beard! and if it's 2 beards and a babyface, then it could be called the mafia line. i just hope they stay together.

with homer standing in front of the net it makes it so franzen can work the cycle more with dats and hang out in the slot more keeping himself open to let his lethal shot go. franzen is a sniper and doesn't belong in front of the net. and flip is playing lights-out with Z right now, so thats not gonna be changed anytime soon.

it would definately be nice to see all those teams lose and the wings keep winning their way into 5th place for the playoffs. i'd like to see Det vs. PHO in the 1st round with a detroit sweep so the yotes only get 2 games playoff revenue. yes, i'm from Winnipeg. f*** the coyotes! and i think that the wings can do the same thing to Bryzgalov that they did to Hiller last year...put a couple quality shots on net and play with the lead. either way you look at it, the west has a couple new teams in the crop that havn't been there in a while, so s***'s gonna get interesting in a couple weeks.

agree 100% on a side note... i like tavares, and he's a good player and is probably gonna be a great player, but everyone ithat i said to that duchene is gonna be a better player than tavares laughed at me pretty good and i said i'd take him 1st overall. s*** i hate that he's on the divealanche. in a few years from now, duchene is probably going to be the clear cut best player from this years rookie class.

personally i think the best part is, and many of you will probably agree, is that with flip playing so well with Z lately, it opens up for dats and franzen to be paired together and the wings still have a pretty good 1-2 punch. the only thing i would do differently with the lines is put helm on with Z and flip cause he's fast and gets the puck from the corners and is pretty good on the cycle. that line would be a wrecking ball. maybe if bert doesn't sign next year that would be an option...or just move bert down now. sure is good to see filppula kickin' ass with Z though.

following that move was babcock giggling like a school girl on the bench at what dats did to huet. dats has probably atleast top 2 shootout goals of all time with that one and the one he pulled on turco and vokoun. dats is the man. bottom line. ovechkins shootout goal was pretty much as good as crosby's and as smooth...as was semins. they just raised the puck instead of sliding it in, only difference.

that's what i thought the case was. i would have said Z anyways, but i can be counted as biased cuz Z's my favorite player, but i'd have him as captain and dats, kronwall and rafalski for his last couple years. or they can just give it to howard

this post makes me happy! it'll be nice to see tyler seguin replace kessell on the B's. on topic: you guys are right that the wings play down to the level of s***ty teams and it's cost them lots of points this year. take this weekend for example. loss in a shootout to edmonton and them and OT win and regulation win against vancouver and s***tsburgh. god i hope they beat nashville twice and columbus 3 times. nashville are effectively 4 point games and blue jackets just suck ass. and for f***s sake beat the oilers on the 30th!

with all the injuries the wings had this year to guys like franzen and homer, they need dats and z to kill less penalties than usual to keep them more fresh in order to score. unfortunatelyy, they havn't had very good offensive seasons considering who they are, but having the likes of helm, draper, eaves, miller, etc...the wings have had a pretty good pk this year. maybe next season franzen won't get injured in the 2nd game of the season and there will be a couple more guys that can score and dats and z can kill more penalties and play slightly less 5 on 5 time to ensure their votes for the selke...or the above mentioned guys can keep doing a good job. i love role players, they helped the wings win 4 cups in 12 years.

so what you're saying is Jobing.com arena will still only be half full when the wings go there? that's average attendance for their games. just wondering...did anyone catch Don Cherry's rant on Saturday's Coach's Corner? he was talking about how the coyotes were terrible last year and drew 15,000 fans per game, and this year they are challenging for 1st in the west and draw 9,000...i love the part whre he said they should be back in Winnipeg. probably won't happen, but regardless they probably won't be in phoenix or wherever they moved to much longer.

they could be the "peewee line" there's the 3rd scoring line that everyone on here is calling for. as long as tatar gets back to where he was before he went to the WJC and played for the worst slovakian team ever! i'd like to see that line against chara, skating between his legs instead of trying to go around him.
