well said. hal gill is the best player in the league at getting away with interference penalties! but i guess you can't have a guy in the box for 60 mins...

hank will be playing head to head with crosby game 7, just like 1, 2, and 5. he's one of the wings players that can render crosby ineffective and at the same time produce. get dats on malkin to do the same thing and the wings will frustrate the pens into hopefully what will be referred to as "penalties"....just like game 5. welcome back to the joe!

the rules were only enforced in one game in the SCF, and that's game 5. see what happens to the penguins when they get penalties for atleast some of the s*** they do?? they have to go to the dressing room and change their diapers between periods and get the "quit unravelling speach". when your gary's team/poster boys, you get away with s***.

justice will be served to the wings when they beat the pens in game 7. once the nhl gets their s*** together as far as what is and isn't a penalty, then there will be better series' in the future. i think this series will be a benchmark as to what the league has to look at for their next officiating review. what is an interference penalty? no i do not think this series will be remembered as one of the greats due to the inconsistincies in the game. furthermore, when/if there is a dvd released for this series, there will be way too much bettman in it and it will ruin the overall product. at some point of every game the commentary mentions him and the coyotes bulls***. that's what will be remembered in this years playoffs more than the outcome is bettmans public cry during the SCF to grab supporters for his deep south hockey revival. not even top 10. 2002 on the other hand, with yzerman taking it home on one leg, beautiful!

i agree with everything except for: "Insist Canadian players are the only players on the ice and ignore all others born outside of North America: Check." there's lots of talk of european players and such others... most of the wings, gonchar, malkin...i could keep going. other than that, great post. but you also blamed the refs i a way: "Change rulebook and officiate inconsistently on a consistent basis: Check." so this post actually shows how stupid the refs are, and how poorly run the nhl is. i enjoyed it none the less.

zetterberg has been shutting crosby down and has more points than him in the finals... who wants it more??? this topic is laughable at best!

franzen signed before the playoffs. he's put points on the board, but has been lazy and doesn't seem to want to hustle. he hasn't been that noticable, and a couple of his goals were lucky to go in. z has a couple empty netters, but has been the best player in the playoffs. contract talks are on with hossa and he's clearly more worried about next season, when he should be getting his head into getting his name on the cup. i thought kenny holland said contract talks during the SCF were forbidden in the wings organization?? at this point, if hossa wants to make hank and dats money, he needs to pick his play up next game and show he's fully committed to playing more than 82 games/year. hank had 73 points to hossa's 71 in the reg season, and 24 playoff points to hossa's 15 in the playoffs. i'm not having second thoughts about wanting to keep hossa a wing, but it would be nice for him to return some of that love to his fans. being held goal-less in 18 of 22 games is not hossa-like i just hope these 2 make a better effort in game 7 so all the money they're gonna make over the next however many years is well spent.

agreed. home ice may light a fire under their asses. wings need to get the 1st goal and ride the momentum all game. don't let the pens in the game at all. feed off the crowd and end pittsburg's "dream" let's hope the nhl gets the opportunity to save some marketing expenses and air's the same crosby commercial for another year. hossa should be on a line with z then if he wants to be a playmaker. i didn't start this thread because i hate franzen and hossa. s***, they're two of my favorite players. and i guess i expect alot from them, especially with all the money they make. point is, you don't take games off in the SCF. i know certain players on the wings are gonna have a huge game 7, but these 2 need to be in that group that tears s*** up. i've been backing them both up all playoffs saying they've been good, but not great. you have to play GREAT to win the cup...and as a wings fan, i expect nothing less from the wings than great play.

lol.....he only showers after game 4's... except this round, he's been pretty lame. he has dry skin from showering all through his 40 goal regular season. with his 6 playoff goals in 22 playoff games, he would be on pace for 23 1/2 if there were 82. maybe babcock needs to talk with him on the plane ride back to hockeytown. give him a spanking or something...

franzen and hossa need to be split up, they were both terrible tonight. first scrum of the game, franzen needs to jack cindy's mouthguard and throw it in the octopus pail and then bury one of the faceoff. the wings need to come fast and furious and not take their foot off the gas. blow the pens out and keep what's theirs.

hossa needs to make a difference in game 7. i personally love having him as a wing, but if he doesn't want to be a force in the playoffs like he is in the reg season, get someone else. he's been good defensively, but we all want points from him, especially for the cash he's making. as for rafalski, if he doesn't kick his game back up to the level he should be at, the wings may as well get schneider back..... franzen, SHOOT THE ******* PUCK AT THE NET. lids was ok...he's solid. the only 2 higher paid guys that did anything good was dats and z. flip need to shoot as well. the wings need to crash the net and not worry about how they score, just bang and crash and stuff them in if they have to. no cup for the pens....that's just not something us wings fans could stomach.

couldn't have said it better. they gotta call hal gill on the interference early in the game, and often if needs be. he gets away with s*** that was allowed in the old nhl. if he was a flyer, he's in the box. but he's a penguin, so he gets away with it cuz he's on poster boys team. i hope the wings blow those pieces of s*** out of the joe again.

it was the most frustrating game of the finals. i almost broke my ******* remote i was so pissed at all the non-calls and general bulls***.

then the wings can split up Hank and Pavs and bylsma will have to put malkin and crosby on the same line to produce offense....resulting in either Hank's or Pav's lines being on offense when they are on. advantage wings with dats back in the line-up. bylsma doesn't have the depth that's being thrown back at him by the wings. flip - hossa - franzen is capable of shutting down one of the 2 lines the pens have anyways, if babs wants to keep D and Z together. Pav adds so much to the wings. he controls the pace of the game better than crosby or malkin, or ovechkin for that matter could ever hope of doing.

agreed. i'd take dats. goalies are also alot better today as a whole than they were 10-15 years ago. what would have been nice though is to have pavel and sergei....hmm... what's next though, people are gonna compare Hank and Yzerman cuz they are in many ways similar? cuz i'd take both of them too. kinda like vintage draper and helm... you could even make comparisons of larionov and flip. huds and mini me... great teams always make great comparisons. f*** we're lucky!
