Despite all the talk on TSN and all the comments from Ducks fans and Carlyle, Homer's elbow had no bearing whatsoever on Wisniewski ending up in the hospital. Datsyuk's shot hit him in the side and bruised his lung. Not long before Wisniewski got hit with the shot, he speared Homer in the gut which went undetected by the refs as so much has in the series. If i'm not mistaken, you get 5min and a game misconduct for spearing, so Wisniewski is lucky that he doesn't get the suspension. Elbowing is 2min, and that wasn't that much of an elbow anyways. Just another classic TSN moment trying to make the Wings look bad.

ericsson will either be a wing next year or he will have to clear waivers to go back to GR, in which case 29 other teams will be throwing Kevin Lowe offer sheets all over the place to sign him.....he's a wing for good.

I had a nightmare last night that there was a Canucks - Penguins final! Woke up in a cold sweat and realized the Wings are only 1 game down. If the Wings, Hawks, Bruins and Caps get knocked out i've lost all interest in the remainder of the playoffs. it would be really sad to have to cheer for the "cardiac canes" pfft...give me a break! and for s***'s sake someone get rid of those ******* neidermayer clowns!

maltby has stone hands and doesn't bring more to the table than leino would. the wings need to show more faith in their highly touted prospects like other teams do. ex. bobby ryan... personally, i'd rather use leino's speed and nose for the net instead of maltby's agitating. and yes, that line does kick ass, and they're part of the reason that the wings are gonna come out on top in this series. they don't need one player to suck up half the game, they have 4 capable lines.

i love the way those lines look with leino in...i think that would help take care of the wings duck issues.

cleary's been really good in the playoffs. he had a mediocre at best reg season, but he's earning his spot right now. if any line up changes, i'd like to see leino in place of maltby, and i can't wait for rafalski to be back, they miss him big time. and the zetterberg-franzen-helm trio would kick some serious ass!

burke should worry about the maple laughs and quit voicing his biased opinion whenever possible to talk down to the wings. go chase tavares...good luck when you have 3 good players on your whole team. what a ******!

pronger will no doubt spend a good amount of time in the penalty box in this series because he's slow....here's a prediction for game 1. 1st period pronger - 2 min for holding wings pp goal... 2nd period pronger - 2 min for hooking wings pp goal... 3rd period pronger - 2 min for hooking, 5 for boarding (probably on homer again), 10 min misconduct 3 game suspension for pronger as a repeat offender for hits to the head and overall dirty play and wings win in 4 pronger feels shame

i found that out last night at about 11pm whilst viewing flames/hawks and was thoroughly pissed off! talk about disrespect to the defending champs. 2 of the 4 games they play in the 1st round televised... gary bettman must have called tsn! weasley little prick! hope they show more than 5 minutes of the entire game on nhl on the fly, unlike game 1. s***, i'm all worked up again!

kronwall's been great offensively this year...but his trademark is fading. didn't everyone love last year when guys hit the blueline, kronner nailed the f*****? stuart does it from time to time, but i wanna see some bone crushers from 55!

i'd take leino over maltby, kopecky, cleary or even draper with his -13 on the year! he's got tons of skill that could put the wings in the category of "too much to handle offensively"... imagine the skill ALL the lines with the addition of leino. meanwhile helm hits everything on the ice and his forechecking will give his linemates scoring chances.

where was gary bettman with his financial aid when the jets and nordiques needed it, as well as the whalers? all he cares about is the deep south with their lack of fanbase. put the game where it belongs!

flip has 38 pts in 77 games...on the 3rd line. that's not bad. and he's plus 10. keep him. draper and maltby retire, replaced by helm and abdelkader for slightly less salary. trade stuart for something inexpensive, there goes approx 4 mil. keep kronner. he has potential. chelios ******* retires! sammy signs for 1.5 mil huds signs 2.5 franzen signs 4 ericsson and leino sign on for the first few years at a discount to continue to prove themselves. hossa takes a contract that pays out when lidstrom retires with slightly less money at the front end and stays long term and wins "cups" i may be dreaming, but it sounds good.

i hope homer get the goal on a tip in (assisted by dats and lids) on the double milestone goal so he can back up about a foot and a half and grab the puck nice and quick before it gets tampered with.
