I believe it's a conflict of interest to have any refs from the representing countries, or their bitter rivals officiating the game. They should be all from different countries. I don't want there to be any question that the gold medal game was called fair and 100% down the middle. Side note: gold medal game has 4 guys born in Winnipeg playing!!! Canada: Toews, Sharp, Keith. You're not the only one that's been pulling for Sweden the whole time. Only cheering for Canada cause I'm Canadian. There's a line worth of players that I don't like or agree with being there over other guys from Canada.

I don't understand why the gold medal game is first? It's like putting a main act on before the opening band...

If that's the case then, why would it matter? If most of the USA doesn't care, but literally ALL of Canada would watch it, then TV in general will still get ratings, not just NBC and why would the NHL just want to have USA in there? More than half of the NHL is Canadian players. Not trying to rag on you, but I'm not seeing why it matters what 1 station would hope for and how you would know that the NHL would prefer that? It may not be your intent, but it makes it sound like the only thing you think matters is USA. Your team has come up through the ranks and solidified itself in a top 5 in the world, your hockey systems are great, but 1 Olympic game is gonna make or break that? I don't buy it. Gary Bettman has tried to shove hockey down Americans throats for years in non-traditional hockey markets and it doesn't work, so Olympics or not, they probably wouldn't tune in cause they likely don't know it's even on, and like you stated, don't care.

I was scared s***less of todays game. It was a toss up and as I expected a 1 goal game. I can't even express trash talk right now cause I'm just so relieved that the damn game is over and we survived.

Those select 3-4 guys aren't on here right now. rrasco is just defending his guys the same way we were. If those guys come on here that were trashing Canada then by all means blast em, but we gotta stay classy dude. It was a battle today and we got the best of them. I can't wait for Sunday! Gonna wake up shortly before the game comes on and ready myself with some chocolate chip pancakes covered in Maple syrup (just for rrasco) and listen to Swedish metal whilst consuming said pancakes and then a single f*** will not be given for the rest of the day, not even the outcome for I love both teams.

The only penalty that wasn't legit was on Getzlaf. No contact was made, Kane just threw his head back to goat a call. Other than that, a tight battle. I finish working now I'm happy either way. Canada or Wings.... I love Sweden regardless of who they play.

USA played hard man, give them credit. It was a 1 goal game and competitive to the end.

One of my favourites....sucks to see him go down. You could tell when he went down he was in trouble. Hope he gets well soon so he can compete for the Art Ross next year!

You keep bringing the same thing up....while we're ALL working. Grasping at straws are we? I watched bits and pieces of the game and snuck out for OT. Tomorrow on the other hand, the bar opens at noon at the mess and they're getting all the tv's and maybe projectors and a pizza party going for the Canada/USA mens game. So if anyone wants to invade Canada, tomorrow's as good a time as any, cause we're all watching the game!
