I messed up something in my back right before New Years and could hardly walk for a week and a half, and I surely didn't have massive NHL'ers cross checking the s*** out of my back for half a hockey season, so I can't even begin to imagine how Z feels. I stand with what I posted last season, Smith and DeKeyser should be a pairing. They would thrive together. Just like how I believe Ouellet and Sproul will be a perfect match in a year or 2 on the Wings.

I was not impressed by Canada at all today to be honest. They got pushed around by Norway and didn't have any pushback physically to assert dominance over a team that they should have beaten by much more. That's Babcock coaching though. They basically looked like the last few years of Wings teams that have quality parts, but can't seem to dominate games that they should, especially on the score sheet. And Kunitz's penalty on the PP was Cleary-esque. Get rid of that clown and his terrible discipline and get Duchene on the top line where he belongs instead of the press box. That's the equivalent of having Cleary in the top 6 and Nyquist in GR. I also wish that Nash was the 13th forward and that Seabrook was there in place of Hamhuis, but oh well, at least they grinded out a W. USA on the other hand....6 goals in the 2nd! That's retarded. Kessel has been on a 6 week hot streak and he clearly isn't done. Aside from Orpik and Martin being there over more deserving/better players, I'd have to agree that the US squad is looking pretty damn good, and Quick is an amazing goalie. Price was solid today, but he's no Quick. Gonna be a good game should Canada play USA....not sure if they play in the round robin...?

Not to mention he's 2nd on our team in points for Dmen and that's with squat all, if any PP time this year. I don't smell what the Babcock is cookin'.

Z is an absolute beast. He's the most intensely battle hardened leader in the NHL since Stevie Y in the sense of playing through injuries and somehow still taking his game to the next level when called upon. He's been nothing short of inspiring this season. I guarantee that he plays most, if not all the games in this tournament and then comes back to the Wings and misses likely 3-4 games the rest of the season prior to giving the Wings team a manly thrust into the playoffs.

I don't care for the team Canada picked. My country or not, if I don't like the team I won't cheer for them. I never said I was cheering against them, it just don't care to cheer for them. I'll cheer for my favourite player Zetterberg and the Swedes and I'll pull for Datsyuk and the other kids Jurco and Tatar on Slovakia. That's my personal mindset anyways.

And that's without Mark Scheifele on the Colts with him. May have to make a trip to see him play.

I like the idea of Robidas. Zidlicky is getting a bit old and slow for my liking. Sign Robidas and bring up Ouellet and I'd be very happy.
