Boston was apparently interested in Q for some unknown reason and Andersson could laughably cover for Smith on the 3rd line in Boston. Swap Andersson for Reilly Smith and I will have the Ron Burgundy pants illusion going on.

I was hoping for a 3 goal lead. Slightly harder to blow. Though we have a strong lineup tonight. Just can't get a bounce cause the ice sucks ________________. If we had have scored 2 goals there on the 4 minute PP, my favourite memory of Kopecky would have been him shooting the puck at the ref. Sometime next week I would have randomly posted in a thread, "hey guys, remember the time Kopecky shot the puck at a ref and we finally beat the almighty Panthers in regulation?" That was a really cool game. Now, we have a 1 goal lead going into the 3rd against a team that is basically our kryptonite this season.

I really like Bergenheim. He's a gritty and smart player. Knows where to go to defend and is decent offensively.

This may be the greatest thing I have ever seen. i haven't read down far enough yet, but I thought Kindl was injured? So Smith should be in the lineup I suppose. As long as he's not playing with Q, he'll be good old Smitty. Really wish Eaves was playing instead of Andersson though. Our 4th line was awesome of late and it sucks to see them split up.

I'm gonna look at this on the other side of the coin. Glendening should be our 4th line centre for the next 15 years. May as well keep him there. Jurco projects as top 6. While I don't want to break up the kid line, it would make more sense for Jurco to play as much as possible and have him go to GR for top line minutes. Eaves is also playing really good on the 4th line with Miller and Glendening and that line is producing as well. The only line I'm not liking, and the only reason I'm not liking it is Andersson and the 3rd line. If Andersson were moved to say, Edmonton for a pick and Abs moved down to the 3rd line with Helm and Alfie, and Dats came back to play with Z and Nyquist, then no one has to get sent down and our team is lethal with the kid line untouched and just as importantly, our 4th line that finally has some identity doesn't get touched. Dats and Z are back together with Nyquist and the fire that's under his ass and our 3rd line which has been the only line that isn't clicking, would get one of the hardest workers in the NHL in Abs to be reunited with Helm and then we have another 2 kids and a goat as our 3rd line. Then all is well. Hopefully everyone can follow the mess that spilled from my head to my laptop.

He was likely scratched cause he got a garbage call against him and the Wings lost in OT. Babcock loves doing that to young guys whenever he gets the chance, but it takes 50 games to bench Cleary and Tuzzi and he still hasn't benched that spud Q.

I agree. He's had a rough go this year coming off an injury plagued season straight to a groin issue and a sports hernia. After the Olympics, the real Weiss will be back methinks. Add him to the line up we have and we're looking good. Add a healthy Franzen and we're lethal. I think that this year is a real lesson for Kenny and Babcock showing that you don't always have to be overripe, but ripe is good too. We have a great future at forward and with the likes of Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen and Mantha on their way as well, we're looking good. Add to the mix a guy or 2 out of Callahan, Tuzzi Jr, or Nastasiuk and you got some sandpaper. On D, Ouellet, Sproul, Backman, Marchenko, Jensen and possibly De Haan sounds good if I remember correctly, we have a bright future there too. Then you have Mrazek and Patterson to try to steal a job from Howard in the coming years, all the naysayers claiming the Wings are "done" now that Lids retired have no clue whatsoever and they forget that despite Holland's latest signing bullpoop, we still have great scouts that whisper some pretty damn good names in his ear at the draft table.

Strangely enough, that mish-mash would be the best looking of the 3. Smith plays really good with everyone not named Quincey.
